Alright, I'll bite.1. Steel 5.56 (M855A1) is easily stopped by Chinese plates that weigh 4lb or just a hair over (Militech RF2 SiC) and which China can mass-produce very easily.2. Tungsten 5.56 only defeats boron carbide Level IV and does not reliably defeat Alumina or SiC ceramic IVs that the Chinese actually manufacture the hell out of.For example, pic related "Filin" plate from Russia (allegedly using Chinese materials) easily handles 5.45 7N39, which is the second best 5.45 AP available and is equivalent to current 5.56 APs like DM31, AP4, RUAG TC all above M995.Versus 6.8:1. Steel XM1186 is a bit better than M80A1 but not quite as good as M2AP out of the M7's barrel length. It will handle plates that beat M855A1 / M80A1 but not full Level IV.2. Tungsten XM1184 will easily handle Level IV and is enough of a cut above M993 (XSAPI threat) that it can challenge emerging SiC-TiB2 plates out of a longer barrel.As an alternative, NAS3 and HYP hybrid case 5.56 adds 300-400ft/s by default and can bail out 5.56's lack of AP capability to a degree.
