I live in a state with great gun rights but the hobby still sucks here because ranges are few and far between and there are no sight lines longer than ~100m anywhere. I can't shoot in my backyard because it descends into a valley full of houses. I still live here because my entire family and house and career and friends are all here. shooting targets isn't important

You do need a permit IIRC but it's not hard to get one and you can own pretty much everything except full auto. Black powder and guns made before 1900 can be bought without a permit, and if it means everything before 1900 (Not like how in the US it can't accept modern ammo to be considered antique) that means you could in theory get a nugget and a Model 1887 in Serbia without the permit. Pretty lit compared to California
