Having spent a great deal of time in the US military from the late 80's through the 90's, I picked being an M60 gunner on purpose. Since they weren't about to give me an M14, I had no use then, nor any use now, for anything shooting a fucking .22 caliber projectile at hostiles. Me and Mr. Hog grew to become great friends over time. It took about a year of packing that heavy bastard to get properly conditioned for for it, but it turned out to be a fantastic idea in the end. That mutherfucker never, and I mean NEVER let me, or my people down. I had exactly two malfunctions with that weapon in over a decade of constant use. Both of them were pop-and-no-kick problems out of blank ammunition during training. Instantly opened the feed tray, jacked the junk out of the chamber, reset the belt, slapped the feed tray back down and went back to work. Hog NEVER malfunctioned during ops. Ever. Just needed proper maintenance and browbeating the shit out of AG's who didn't understand how to feed a live belt. I still love that bastard weapon, even though it tried to kill me a few times jumping with with it.
