Impossible Mode: You know how to clear a misfeed properly

its fun to press

If you ride the charging handle down you can still get the round chambered without ejecting a good round and redoing the the whole process

Confuses normies. Some still think it's a charging handle thanks to CS1.6
>>
>>64945799
I've been on ranges where we had a few thousand extra rounds of ammo and sometimes when you're them off like that all day the carbon build up and the heat of the chamber will stop that first round from going all the way into battery, and it needs a little nudge. Nothing anyone in any situation would ever find themselves in though

It's odd so many people cry about it. I had to use it multiple times in the military and a couple as a civilian. All colts and high end AR platforms. It's almost like those that laugh at the forward assist are those that have safe queens and low round counts.
>>
>>64946288
When I exit the car I close the doors quietly, close the action quietly etc. Animals have very good hearing and you don't want to alert every critter within half a mile radius by letting the bolt close full speed. I use active ear protection when hunting, when the noise level is turned up you notice how much noise you are making.

I don't understand the hate. Mine never saved me in combat, but when I was being a lazy retard at Benning and didn't clean my rifle before we qualified, I managed to score expert (36) with several malfunctions, the last one resistant to sports so I just bruised my hand on the FA and she went into battery.

Because stoner is a god and anyone who ever disagreed with him and his ideas are a heretic. Just like the stupid Dutch that ditched his innovative flash hider and sleeved barrel concept to make the AR10 "more ready for service" (big board of ordnance just bullied everyone into rejecting the AR10 before the Dutch had a go)

It's a necessary part because of the shitty charging handlesystem. Only notrainings think they're useless. You're not even allowed to use one without a forward assist in any professional field. You only shoot at the gun testing range so it doesn't matter. Get a gun that's missing something it needs.

Forced meme by YouTubers, pretty much entirely informed by Eugene Stoner's expressed dislike for it, which Eugene Stoner was simply fucking incorrect about (similarly to how Mikhail Kalashnikov was fucking wrong about the AK74), having been disproven by countless soldiers.

>>
>>64949330
There has never been a gun made since the AR15 that has an AR15 charging handle, because it's shit and everyone knows it. All newer rifles are being made with left side charging handles because that's the superior ergonomic place to have them. A left side, non reciprocating charging handle that acts as a forward assist if pushed forward.

AR18 is irrelevant too, it racks on the right like an AK. That has its place if you're in the arctic or very bad conditions. AR15 has no place anymore. It's an arcane, uncomfortable gun with too many tiny parts.

>>64949613
I can't believe I'm responding to this. You know how you normally drop the slide/bolt on a gun to chamber a round? Like you pull it back and let it fall free? And how if you don't let it fall free and instead hold it as you try to chamber the round, sometimes the round doesn't chamber correctly and the gun doesn't go off? Well if you do that on an AR you can push the little button and it will seat the bullet correctly anyway.

AR15s are light, and if you're so fucking bothered by gas from the charging handle (because you're shooting suppressed a lot), then you'd know that gas deflecting handles exist, and also that the forward assist is actually helpful when shooting suppressed, if you just can't be bothered to build a rifle with an adjustable gas block.

If you shot suppressed a lot, you'd also know that piston guns make a piston pop, which is something you don't get with the normal Stoner gas system. It also doesn't give you carrier tilt.

Can someone please post the US military trials in Panama (I think?) were the examiners reported that they liked the AR and most of the minor problems it had can be fixed by the forward assist (e.g. "bolt sometimes knocked out of battery by brush, can be fixed with bolt closer device", etc.) I used to have the screencap but can't find it anymore.
>>
>>64958830
>carrier tilt
Carrier tilt is only an issue for pistons shoe-horned onto an AR-15 carriers. Guns designed for off-axis impulse don't have a problem with off-axis impulse.

As soon as the AR10 and AR15 were out of Stoner's control, they both got forward assists. Different militaries from around the world requested them.
