I just hopped in from a /pol/ thread where Israeli troops were "slaughtered" in Lebanon (they'd had two casualties but the comments make it sound like a platoon) and apparently multiple Israeli jets have been shot down yesterday. And an Israeli power plant was hit and Tel Aviv is totally blacked out.
Hints that Israel is open to negotiate to end the war are interpreted as Israel losing badly and being pounded 24/7 by Shaheds and being totally out of interceptors.

Fucking delusional over there
>>
>>64950662
Gas prices seem to be all over the place as stations are very obviously taking advantage to overcharge at least in the short term. Since oil prices have already gone below $100, I expect them to start going down dramatically as gas stations have a mini price war pretending as if what the price should be is a "deal"
>>
>>64950273
You know, whatever. Iran in 2025 was a lot more capable of holding the oil trade in the region hostage than it was in 2015. Letting it continue to build up and improve its drones would have meant Iran in 2030 or 2035 would be an even bigger headache.
Bombing them so country is somewhere between Syria 2.0 and the surface of the moon is a good investment for gas prices. They are spiked now, but soon enough the oil will flow. And now the US has offered to insure a bunch of that trade, flexing on the UK.
>>
>>64950703
The war made them spike, as wars do, but the FUD in the media that made it seem like Iran could actually keep up the drone barrages of the first day surely extended the panic

>>
>>64950691
it's ridiculous. the sad part is i don't think the multipolars are even getting paid to say these things.
currently the cope is that iran doesn't have the ability launch the smaller missiles anymore and that's a good thing! since they'll only fire the 1 ton+ weapons... i guess.
idk the footage is pretty cool i thought that flaming river of sewage in tehran was awesome looking
>>
>>64950763
It's pure demoralized cope and reverting to clan-based nonsense of "THEY DIDNT KILL US ALL THEREFORE WE WIN". Iran is probably going to turn into multiple ethnicity/culture based countries with the US holding the strait-based ones, and they will still somehow say this is a victory
>>
>>64950740
Which ones?
>>
>>64950763
The narrative like two days ago was how swarms of small weapons would be the key. "Mosaic" strategy was the buzzword cope for "our centralized leadership is all dead".
Also lol the cope of "actually Israel/US were just destroying painted shadows" disintegrated and instantly shifted "Israel/US are bombing the innocent Iranian regime too hard."
Fuck, even CNN took down its live war update ticker from its frontpage when it realized it was all just going to be similar footage from IR cameras of Iranian things exploding.

Related, the narrative about comparative weapon costs is utter cope. Comparing prices is useful, but in active wartime it is only useful as shorthand for production capacity. When one side has a lot of expensive weapons stockpiled and the other side has used up many of their cheap weapons + had their production capacity destroyed it doesn't matter.
>>
>>64950825
When they started using US dollars in terms of comparison it was irrelevant. The problem Iran has is that they can't use American dollars otherwise spending it just puts it into circulation which helps the US, so they have to use either Iran's own devalued-to-nothing currency or something like rubles/yuan, both also heavily devalued. At the end of the day the US can easily absorb the cost of a war with one nation that can't even defend itself, and has proven to not be able to defend itself

Me: The US is obviously militarily dominating. It isn't a clean flawless victory since the US hasn't actually fought this scale of drones before and probably underestimated Iran by more than it should have, resulting in the THAAD radar loss, but overall a molehill being turned into a mountain. AARs on this first big engagement against drone swarms will echo down through US military doctrine. If the Trump admin isn't retarded enough to do another full nationbuilding adventure, this will be looked at as a political black eye/"wtf" movement and gives the dems lots of political ammo against any Republican in the next Congress and down the road presidential elections. Wide scale, I think a neutered Iran probably is a good thing. It will still hate the US but it's already at 100% hate so, like, 110% hate isn't exactly a measure difference. The US sending a missile into that girls school on day one is something I'm torn on. On one hand the US lies a lot and this admin might just be that sloppy; on the other hand Iran lies A LOT and it sure is convenient for Iranian PR sympathy that this missile of all things hit a girls school.
>>
>>64951368
>On one hand the US lies a lot and this admin might just be that sloppy; on the other hand Iran lies A LOT
I believe it. It's the first (or second) vibe bombing campaign. The people who were supposed to review didn't put as much work into as they should have.
>>
>>64951382
But it's not like this missile was one among a wave. It was the opening strike. What are the fucking chances that missile #1 hits the single most sympathetic target after a puppy daycare? I dunno, I have no proofs, but man it just screams middle eastern hand wringing, which is something they've perfected in that part of the world.

On the other hand Trump admin is filled with people with Botox poisoned brains.

On the other other hand, surely a bunch of sweaty nerds that never go on camera have to have picked the targets. Even with vibe targeting, this was missile #1.

On the other other other hand, Trump probably can't find Iran on a map.
>>
>>64951406

>>64951368
>The US sending a missile into that girls school on day one is something I'm torn on.
What's there to be torn about? It was a fuck up, a disastrous one, but a mistake nonetheless.
>On one hand the US lies a lot and this admin might just be that sloppy;
They don't decide on specific targets at the administrative level, this is more likely than not to be an intel failure (it WAS part of an IRGC complex), with operator error being a distant second option.
This mistake would have happened regardless of the party, administration or president in charge. (assuming the actual operation is a given)
>on the other hand Iran lies A LOT and it sure is convenient for Iranian PR sympathy that this missile of all things hit a girls school.
Oh they are going to milk that shit for as long as they can, but I don't buy into the idea that even the Iranians are so cartoonishly evil as to bomb their own school. (on purpose, anyway)

I've learned to wait for official investigation results when it comes to these sort of things and avoid gut reactions ever since that one episode with the hospital in Gaza that ended up being "attacked" by a malfunctioning Hamas rocket.
>>
>>64951423
No, me being torn is on if it is true it was a girls school. Obviously real missile, but how hard is it to put blood on a backpack and scream it was a girls school?
>>
>>64951423
And also "it was part of a military complex BUT that one specific building got repurposed for the most sympathetic reasons possible" is just. Too perfect?
And yes the Israeli hospital bombing story is exactly why I'm torn. Right now everyone is pushing bs. If I'd said I was torn the day after that story, people would call me a bunch of pro-Israel slurs for defending bombing a hospital. So, I'm torn and I'll wait and see
>>

Look, the article was posted today. It's saying the Iranian conventional navy don't matter because the Iranian suicide speedboats will lock down the strait and if the USN tries to open it up, the USN will get overwhelmed. Literally the same doomscript they had for the infinite waves of air drones overwhelming US land/air assets.
These people talk as if the US can and will only be on the defensive, and won't be proactively hunting down these boats before they launch.
>>
>>64951428
>>64951469
Oh
Well, probably? it would be outrageously audacious to completely pull it out of your ass without SOME kernel of truth.
In the Gaza hospital story there was at least the kernel of the hospital BEING bombed and there being a lot of casualties.
..Though now that I think about it, you'd think they'd parade these bodies to prove their point, they wouldn't be above that, now I'm not so certain myself.
>>64951446
>And also "it was part of a military complex BUT that one specific building got repurposed for the most sympathetic reasons possible" is just. Too perfect?
Well, to play devil's advocate, the IRGC is a fuckhuge organization spanning pretty much every possible aspect of national life.
Imagine if in the US boy/girl scouts, the YMCA, most publicly funded community centers, all national guards, most unions, the FBI and the marine corps were all sub-groups of a single umbrella organization whose leadership is appointed by his eminence the supreme reverend Trump.
That school actually was under that umbrella, operated by that same super-organization, so that's why it was in that complex and why it's at least plausible it was changed from valid target to a girl's religious school without intel noticing.

What the fuck happened to this board
don't get me wrong I have no issue seeing the Ayatollah get got or IRGC cunts getting blown up but this war is objectively retarded and does nothing but destabilise the world, fuck over western allies in the region, potentially europe and SEA if the straight stays closed much longer, all for the wishes of Israel. I'm literally doing a masters in security studies with professors who are the furthest thing from the usual academia fifth columnists and yet even they were all discussing how retarded trump is being, one even described the US as having stuck its neck (not its foot, its neck) in a bear trap. Why is every thread on this board so aggressively in favour of the war suddenly? Again, I can understand being happy that the regime is getting fucked over in a vacuum, but this war is retarded.

Not operational/tactical incompetence mind you - the US is obviously buttfucking the Iranians militariliy speaking - but strategic incompetence, i.e. not having a good plan.

>Personally i enjoy watching shit blown up, but i think the value of further reducing iran’s relevance by taking out their long range strike capacity when they were already suffering from economic meltdown and unrest doesn’t outweigh the shitstorm it’s causing to the global economy.
pretty much my thinking
my fundamental concern is that 1. you can't bomb your way to regime change and 2. you can't bomb your way into opening the strait. The strait will remain closed until either
1. Trump and Israel abandon the war with concessions to Iran (Iran has no reason to stop firing missiles at the US otherwise)
2. A ground invasion is undertaken to secure the strait (politically catastrophic for trump)
3. A ground invasion is undertaken to remove the regime entirely (even worse for trump)
4. Trump or israel try some other form of escalation against Iran (can't really think of much other than nukes if it isn't gonna be a ground invasion) to force the strait open
5. The war continues as is with the US bombing loads of Iranian military installations but the strait remaining open, which will cause catastrophic effects by the end of the 4th week since the war started on an already fragile global economy (effects which will disproportionately affect Europe and the US' allies in southeast Asia
none of these are desirable outcomes, the first option is nominally the 'easiest' but trump cucking to Iran seems almost unthinkable to me, it's one thing for him to leave, but for him to make concessions would be unimaginable (keeping in mind the Israelis wouldn't let him do that either anyway...)
>>
>>64951661
idk, taking down Iran seems like a pretty important purely strategic and real politick move if nothing else. having a literal theocratic apocolypse cult with secret police and paramilitaries everywhere with a 100 million population that is actively antagonist towards you and militant in the prime location to fuck with a major path of global trade SEEMS like a pretty big deal to get rid of.

I could care less about nukes, but Iran's size, political nature, and location seems like a powderkeg that NEEDS to be addressed sooner or later.

I'm not in favor of starting it but it's too late to navel gaze now. The die is cast. Bomb all production facilities, all chemical industry and get them to give up the refined uranium then fuck off. >>
>>64951752
You mean besides Iran funding and arming Hamas and Hezbollah and threatening to nuke Israel for the last twenty years? It's not particularly an Iran-Israel beef so much as it's an Iran-middle east beef since they're also funding and arming the Houthis, Shia militias in Iraq, and dissidents in the Gulf states.
>>
>>64951762
>You mean besides Iran funding and arming Hamas and Hezbollah and threatening to nuke Israel for the last twenty years?
yes, but why? was there a signifigant population of shia in the Israel region?
>>
>>64951752
In 1979 Iran cut off diplomatic relations with Israel and began to celebrate Jerusalem day, celebrating the future day they would liberate Jerusalem. Mind you Israel had captured Jerusalem 12 years earlier so they were a bit late to the game. But anyway, before that they got along reasonably well and at first Israel thought it was just posturing, even smuggling Iran weapons during their war with Iraq. But they began to suspect it was more the words with repeated proxy conflicts.

So basically, Israel's 1967 capture of Jerusalem pissed off Shia mullahs in Iran. I think that is really the genesis of it but it took until the revolution until they could make that a policy objection instead of a pulpit sermon.
>>
>>64951689
The major upswings for passenger cars is that it's higher octane (~110) and doesn't require a fuel pump which reduces weight and complexity. I forget why Australia dumped LNG cars though because according to a very trusted source (Garbage Time) propane cars are a rarity now down under
>>
>>64951770
>yes, but why?
I think their strategy was to keep everyone in the region busy fighting some insurgency and not focused on Iran itself. Hence all the militias, aimed at Israel and otherwise.
>>
>>64951752
Iran is a violently extremist islamic theocracy that is vehemently opposed to Israel because they took over what used to be Palestine. One of their sworn goals is the destruction of Israel as a state. For the past 40 years they've been stirring up shit, funding terrorist groups, and directly attacking Israel. They are open about how if they had nuclear weapons they would use them on Israel, consequences be damned. Iran also happens to be a sect of islam that hates the other big sect and believes that not only are they correct, it's their god given right to rule over the entirety of the islamic world (but especially the ME).

Israel, for all it's many, many failings and problems, would probably be happy to let Iran do whatever it wants as long as "Destroy Israel and kill as many Israelis as possible" wasn't on that list.
>>
>>64951778
>>64951789
so its kind of like a promised regime talking point thing? Like I totally get Arabs hating Isreal on principle of arabs being displaced as well as being from the same religious branch that dominated the eastern mediteranean, but Persia is both ethnically separated and religiously (somewhat) separated.
>>
>>64951745
If you want that strait open, yes you do. It's not the US Navy that Iran has to defeat, it's 1 or 2 cargo tankers
>>
>>64951667
He’s down $80k (it’s not a real trade or even real money idk why people give a fuck)
>>
>>64951808
I can't understand politics. It might be posturing or a talking point. But it seems like a way of keeping up their Islamic revolutionary credentials through proxy attacks on the zionist state. And if the US wasn't involved and if we didn't give Israel weapons for free I'd be totally on board with Israel bombing Iran whenever they wanted. But they're leeching off us and pulling us into wars we needn't really be involved in. They could and should have handled this on their own.
>>
>>64950273
>I see we moved from "Lots of Americans will die" to "Americans will grumble avout gas prices"

The ground war has not started yet. And the gas prices have only begun to rise. You need to wait 2.5 weeks more for the last tankers that left the Gulf fully loaded before the war to reach Rotterdam. The oil price is still low because of Japan and America releasing from their oil reserves, and people still thinking that this war will be over soon, because the last war only lasted 12 days, and we are only 10 days into this.

You forgot oil
Though that is usually an augmentation of any of the previous talking points
>"We're" destroying global trade for a doomed war that only benefits Israel!!
>>
>>64953023
You're right, I should say a different word. Without worrying that it would cause an incident to do so in another country.

>The US doesn't have any bombs left
no one serious says this
>The irgc speedboat flotilia will surely close the strait for good
last official statement i heard from Iran is that they're not closing the strait. According to their foreign minister.

The point of this war was to create regime change. And for that to happen you need boots on the ground. The boots were supposed to be protesters, but Iran suppressed those real fast. No boots, no regime change.

Technically they've killed him on Saudi soil since they had lured him into their embassy/consulate and then dismembered him and iirc shipped him to SA via diplomatic plane.

"murdered"
the word you are searching for is "murdered". Or alternatively: "butchered" like an animal

It's not happening. I know you really want it but he will walk away. He's phenomenal at walking away. One of the best. People love to see him go.
>>
>>64953171
>It's not happening.
that's my point
>I know you really want it
i don't want it

I want Israel destroyed and the middle east to fight their own wars until it stabilizes and becomes wealthy. That way the browns in the west will finally have a reason to return to their ancestral lands. And then everyone lives happy ever after.

Gas prices are THE biggest weakness of the American people. Governments routinely rise and fall based on whether Joe Hick can fill up his truck for twenty dollars or twenty-one.
Honestly I don't think they know just how good they have it, being the largest fuel producer in the world and all.
>>
>>64953403
>Governments routinely rise and fall based on whether Joe Hick can fill up his truck for twenty dollars or twenty-one.
It's hard to believe but apparently it's true.
>>
>>64953042
>This war only benefits Israel
This is true
>This war actually benefits russia (lolwhat)
This is true in the short term until the strait is opened again.
>The Orange Man will chicken out in two weeks
The orange man will claim mission accomplished without finished the job, but only if Israel lets him.
>>
>>64953625
> This is true in the short term until the strait is opened again.
If the oil sanctions are removed, they won’t be re-applied, Trump hates them, he just didn’t have an excuse to tell Mike Johnson to do anything.

Its not.

Yeah bud, this is all about Israel and has nothing to do with ~40 years of proxy-war

I don't know how true that is but a lot of Americans seem to talk about their politics like they're sport teams.

We dont. Its a very small (but vocal) group of people on the internet. Most people dont really care until its election time, then they will watch the news and debates and make up their mind, vote, and then go back to worrying about their daily lives.

According to CENTCOM commanders recent brief, they have now all been martyred and are having a reunion at the bottom of the Gulf.

Aso, strategic bombers hit a ballistic missile assembly facility, which might explain this huge explosion in the city of Qom.

>The point is that Americans and MAGA have become just like vatniks
I don't see any MAGA would have any balls while their dick is still being locked in a chastity cage, having any courage to stand up and kill Soros yet. The Iran talks has been existed since 1979 and every single up-running president threaten to hurt Iran one way or another but always ended at American boots on the ground. So far, only 7 Americans died while stationing at other nations and that's already impressive

How do they have any boats still floating?

But also what was the idea behind building a fleet of random assorted crap? Its very expensive and proved absolutely useless as expected.
>>

Don’t worry. Agent Kraznov has loosened sanctions on Russia, so there’ll be plenty of oil flowing to our enemies from there before long.

>Iranian's popular government still in power. The son of the leader you assassinated has been elected leader. The straits are still closed, ships are being sunk off the coasts of Oman and Yemen somehow. The Arab puppet states are bucking and refusing to help, even European allies are refusing to help. The price of oil still climbing while the minefields grow denser.

I don't even give that much of a shit, I just hate /pol/ for turning most of 4chan into reddit and twitter screenshots and third worlders who can barely string a sentence together in their native language, much less English, and I want to see them eat shit.

Literally the same thing.

They can't take Taiwan right now, Xi is busy purging the ranks of the PLA and their primary supply of oil is under attack.

Iranians have tried to kill me, personally, at least twice. Once with a suicide aircraft in the Straights, once with a suicide bomber in Bahrain. Possibly three times, but the Singaporeans summarily executed the survivor of that particular terror attack on the pier before he could be captured and interrogated. They've bankrolled and trained people that have killed multiple friends of mine including one of my boot camp buddies. I worked with and trained people they're bombing right now in the wider Middle East. And I'm Navy, not a surface grunt. This board is full of vets who've had to deal with even more of their shit, for years on years. The State department has been telling every branch of the military that we can't retaliate -- even in the face of open acts of war -- because it will fuck up the current round of negotiations. Which the Iranians have literally never taken seriously. For decades. So.
Fuck 'em. They deserve this. You can't play "I'm declaring war on you, I'll totally fuck you up" like clockwork every 2-3 years and then cry foul when someone finally answers "yeah, okay, let's go. Bitch." Especially after getting pimp-slapped and told to back the fuck off less than six months ago.

Learn to spell straits.

It's just the Muslim Arab stronk mindset cannot handle being mogged militarily, politically, and economically by Jews. The whole Persian thing is just to elevate themselves above other Arab countries. Everyone is just trying to be the king of the arabs and they don't even realize fuedalism ended over a hundred years ago.

>b-but the laundry caught fire on the ford!
yeah it do be like that, hasn't slowed the bombings lol

This. Iranians have been our enemy for so long that even my boomer father was fighting them 50 years ago during the hostage crisis shit. They bombed our soldiers in Lebanon. These faggots have been fighting us for longer than fucking Al Qaeda. The only other enemy more ancient are Ivans. That’s why it infuriates me when I see these TikTok normie faggots and brown /pol/tard commies act like this is some kind of unprovoked war being led by Israel or some shit. Fucking Saddam and the Taliban were more innocent than these killers.

For decades pussies have been kicking this shit down the road, attacking useless peripheral places like Iraq or Afghanistan. Now we’re finally attacking this fucking beast at its heart and god willing this goatfucking rapist regime they claim is somehow acting in the name of God is finally brought down and Iran can be free.

>>
>>64964628
Pretty good actually, gas is pretty much where it was last week
>>
>>64964631
You could argue that, but it would be objectively wrong since we have data showing iran is slowing both drone and missile launches.
>>
>>64964674
pol would tell you that’s because they’re running out of targets to hit…not from getting absolutely wrecked of course
