You are now going to war. Modern battlefield.
You will probably going to die by artillery or a FPV suicide drone flying into your ass.

BUT! Before you get shipped off, you have to have a sword! Yes, you HAVE TO have a sword, it's mandatory. Your commanding officer is some nutjob who thinks that "Mad Jack" Churchill was right, and that anyone who goes to war without a sword is improperly dressed. You you have to pick one.

But you get to choose yours. What will it be?
It's probably going to be useless, you will probably never get to use it, and it's mostly just going to be an awkward piece of extra weight that you have to lug around.
But you've got to have it. Can be anything from tacticool shit to accurate historical reconstructions to final fantasy bullshit.

So what would be your pick?

I would carry pic rel because it is light and small enough to not get in the way but can still be useful.

>>64962103
Swiss small sword. Small, light, minimally intrusive to carry.
>>
The Penetrator from Saints Row. No I will not elaborate.
>>
>>64962103
Katana because I'm a massive weeb.
>>
>>64962103
The lightest, shortest smallsword that still counts as sword. These things can weigh as little as 400g, so not too much of a burden.

Then I will.

The only answer (beyond >>64962169 )
is a pioneer sword of some sort.

Germanic Migration Period sword

30" double-edged cut-and-thrust blade, basket hilt, overall weight ~1100g.

>cold steel
That said, yeah, nice choice. Naval swords barely changed from the 16th century to the 20th.
