why don't more (long) guns use progressive springs / recoil assemblies?i see stuff like buffers & the like on pistols, but why have they stopped doing it on carbine / rifle sized guns?they used to be done on a lot of smg's pre-ww2, for their benefits, but were dropped in favor of cheap shit (since it worked); in the modern day though, it seems like it would really fit into the newer PCC & comp-guns market
