'Sup, /k/? I'm doing a fishing trip in April to the Northwest and I hope to grab some chinooks in Oregon. What's the best way to filet these for consumption? Do I have to cut away the rotors or can I skip that step?

>>64965971You have to bleed them first thing out of the water. Major difference in taste vs just allowing them to run until they expire. Zoomies all use more "modern" bait but I find they'll always go for a paddy hat, even in bad weather. Good luck, they're a fun catch.
>>64965971How does the army stop them from going upstream every year?

Best salmon I've ever had.t. born in PNW

>>64967804Yes and no. There are lake-dwelling salmon populations that hang out in fresh water all their lives.
