What are good "match grade" .22lr or air rifles? I have a .22lr and I have a match centerfire rifle. I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it to buy a match small bore rifle vs just buying nicer ammo for the centerfire
>>
Depends on what you're trying to achieve.

Are you plinking?
Target shooting? If so, how serious are you about it?
Varmint hunting or small game?
>>
>>64968433
match implies target shooting

you asked man, try a cz 452 or 457 heavy barrel and drop it into a boyds stock or a light barrel with a silencer or a tuner take a look at rimfirecentral and take a look a small bore bench varmint class, you're probably get a used wood stock club anschutz cheap enough and 22 barrels last forever unless you mong it with rods. Sounds to me you;re more after a 22LR varmint class bench rifle. They will shoot cloverleafs. Please don't be a dumb burger and pour money into a 10/22 though. It kind all depends if you want scoped, hunting irons, match irons, bipod, silencer mag fed etc etc etc etc

the new cz 457 will be cheaper tho https://www.czfirearms.com/en-us/products/rimfire-rifles/cz-457-series/cz-457-target

I shoot an iron sighted AR for highpower. I want something I can shoot cloverleafs with with iron sights prone from 50 yards
>>
>>64970195
used anschutz, perhaps a 457 with a nice barrel.
savage is bad.

>Highpower iron sights
lol even the fuddiest fudds at my local club use a 4.5x.
I haven't shot iron'd HP in years.
>>
>>64970205
>Savage bad
why?
>fuddiest fudds have scopes
yeah because scopes are better. I got like the last A2 upper before they got discontinued and only a couple of us actually use irons. most guys who are serious use the scopes because they're like 1-4.5x or something and have a nicer reticle than AR irons since the iron sights are regulated but the scope reticles aren't and more magnification is just more better basically all of the time.
there are almost as many guys using meme guns, AR-10s, 1917 enfields and M1As as there are using irons, maybe even the same number, actually

savages are poorly designed and poorly made.
they have mag issues, extraction issues, bolt issues.
>>
OP, if you don't have to have new, pretty much any of the post WW2 .22 match/target rifles will be more than sufficient.
Plus, you can often pick them up for little money.
>>
>>64970233
I'll check it out

Is the Mordax worth the asking price?

Or is it better to just go for a Blitz at a third the price

are they relatively cheap and free floated?
>>
>>64971350
Relative in relation to Feinwerkbau or Anschutz; ~$1.5 - 3k They are also basically a Gucci 10/22, so you could buy a stock or premium Ruger and replace with upgrade components over time.
Yes.
>>
>>64968418
Calculate the point where match ammo for centerfire becomes more expensive than buying a new rifle and buying match .22LR.
Or just buy a reloading kit.
>>
>>64972159
eww, so more expensive than any of my guns other than my match rifle
>>64972172
yeah I'm trying to do this the lazy way

That'sa 452 I bedded in devcon floated with pillars and a replacement steel magwell, sleeved trigger pings, barrel damper and still silencer (also worked as barrel tuner for me), versapod and old jap tasco custom shop redone at 10x. It could shoot as well as the anschultz, even though it had a light barrel, easily shoot a fly on the target at 50M and 1.5CM sized 10 shot groups at 100M if the ammo was measured for rim thickness and sorted. However I also own a feinwerkbau 2800 now. The anschutz was a very accurate little gun too but a single shot as well.
>>
>>64973448
same
I used that scope because you need 1/8 moa adjustments when the rifle gets accurate. That's a cheapo norinco JW 21 beside it, fun little gun with a tube mag but not accorate like the other guns at all.

These are some of my cheaper gus from years ago, my most expensive guns are collectors pieces and are worth a lot more than 4 grand.

There old pictures but I never post well focused pictures because on yourHD stuff you have to worry about serials and other shit showing up. Be honest with you I don;t post pictures at all much now, it's just they were very relevent to match/small bore bench 22s. Here's another one just to annoy you

Savage makes the same rifle in .22, .17, .22 Mag and .17 Mag
