On the tactical side, things are still in flux, but we will almost certainly be competing with 5 medal players this season, and so we will need to select a 5th medal. Well, those are some results. For those tracking the "/k/ is dead" index, that's down about half from the Autumn '24 poll, but that was during the height of Kursk, and about half of them were solid yellow flags on verification, so take that as you will.But the real reason for publishing this is because this will be a painful selection. Partly, it is the small size of the pool, but also because we have grown quite attached to the team over the years. Our two main losers are clear, both Deagle and Ivan are long past their relevance to the board as it stands, and in this instance that has taken priority over tradition. But the third cut has landed in a 4-way tie, and with that much support for each of them, I feel the need to be transparent about this process. From Management's POV, I am waving the knife between Marty and Sharpe. I have not replicated the former /k/ommandant's commitment to always have a fresh Marty for each game, and without that he's just a card player, while Sharpe's board presence has faded fast since his acceptance. Jim was also similarly fleeting, but he has already received a minor model update, and I'm reluctant to throw him out before it sees use. As for the ADC, I enjoy him the most, and as stated, I am considering a third keeper this season, and putting him in the net is the kind of terrible idea that just won't leave my head.Similarly, the competition for medal slots is a clusterfuck. Paul losing his medal by one vote hurts my soul, but such is as it is. We have already discussed the Nigger getting a medal, so he's a shoe-in, but that still leaves one slot, and no less than 8 competitors for it. Of them, I'm most partial to either SKS or Browning, perhaps leaning SKS on account of his time in service advantage.But simply, I am not confident pulling the trigger on that many executive decisions for this many players with that much support. What does the board think, and do we need another round of polling to narrow it down?

Some quick preliminary updates:By the power of the War Thunder forums, Liveries is proceeding better than expected, we will have no problems there. >Implessive is snagging early on, because finding a JY-27 model that isn't behind a paywall is a bitch and a half, so if anyone knows of an ARMA model or something, please kick it my way, or we might have to use a substitute. Suicide Fleet is still in the concept state, because there's not a lot of photographs to directly adapt. That might be more of a Z-Team wacky model.In Cup news, there is a potential for the qualifiers to be cancelled. Multiple teams are hanging by a thread due to lack of people willing to bee the change, and if the right number fall through, then we will proceed straight to the Spring Babby without the Fetus.
