Why is there so little talk about laser trainers? Just bought a reciever and a 9mm and 5.56 laser emitter and its amazing. Near zero cost compared to real ammo, let's you practice trigger pull and holster draws. Only downside is not being able to practice follow up shots.
>>64974544Their marketing makes them seem like retarded scam products. If they're actually good, they need better marketing.
>>64974563Also, I'd want six for my revolver. Make it cheap enough and I might try it.
>>64974544>et's you practice trigger pull and holster drawsI can do this already without some gimmick.
>>64974544>Why is there so little talk about laser trainers? We do from time to time. General consensus has always been fairly positive with a few caveats that like any other training tool it's what you make of it and depends somewhat on your situation and what fits well. But the entry price is pretty damn low, and even the fancy stuff isn't THAT crazy, and objectively there are exercises you can do with them that just cannot be done with basic dry fire. Particularly for people in cities or shit states or whatever who don't have super easy opportunities to just go shooting for free whenever, they're worth considering. Others might be better off with other options (like air guns or 22) for cheap practice.>Only downside is not being able to practice follow up shots.Various companies do make electric reset systems for certain guns, so you can in fact fire as if it was semi-auto. But afaik there is nothing universal nor can there really be, has to be designed for a given guns specific operation, so ymmv. Also that actually starts to get pricey.
They're gay and never work right, no matter how expensive they are

>>64974655>But the entry price is pretty damn low, and even the fancy stuff isn't THAT crazyThis was my main reason for buying the reciever and emitter setup. Mantis says it can do holster stats but you have to put the dongle on your pistol, I assume you need a whole new holster just to fit you training tool. No beuno imo so I opted for the cheaper solution that worked with the equipment I already had.All in all I spent around $80 for the target and lasers. Have easily already fired hundreds of shots which would rack me up over that much. Its absolutely no substitute for live fire but as a supplement to regular dry fire its incredible.
>>64974822I'm pretty sure at least one place made a pistol holster stat thing that was in the form of a mag or mag plate, so it was fine with any normal holster (though if you wanted to practice from CC specifically it would be a thing that could snag when a normal gun wouldn't)? But dunno if it's still being made. You don't need anything special purely to practice shooting from draw though, and can do timing of that via other means.
>>64974544I got the exact thing in the OP as a gift a while agoIt's perfectly fine, hard to go wrong for this little money, not sure what else there is to say about it
