The military is just a bunch of kids? I was looking at a list of Iraq casualties and they were all 18,20,23 etc. I never noticed this before I guess because I was 13 at the time and saw 20 year olds as super old. Now looking back on it as a 34 year old it is depressing.
At least they had some fun.
at least it could be worse

>>64977190well at least they died for a good cause, building democracy in Iraq. lol
>>64977190Yes it is. if you wanna get more angry, realize that they specifically lowered the age to vote to justify sending kids to war
>>64977190YesIt has pretty much always been this way
>>64977190Always has been, haven't you watched generation kill?

>>64977379For the most part, I guess. And compared to prior conflicts. The Ukraine war is also fought by Millennials and Gen Xers.
>>64977375>Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20Seeing his older pics as an Eagle scout fucked me up. Met a lot of commo/IT kids from flyover shitholes who just joined to get out. Also reminded me I've been spending too much time on pol
>>64977407question from a never served. any idea how he became a Sargent at 20? was he just a complete chad or what?
Is this the phase of the 3 day special military operation when all the rah rah let's go to war people suddenly realize it's not a video game?
>>64977413It's decently impressive especially since he didn't join with a degree. But I also read it was a posthumous kinda deal on top of it being the reserves. Active duty making the jump from 4 to 5 was more luck than anything depending on how overcrowded your MOS was
>>64977413He went in as a specialist. You can get that from completing all the pre entry work. A specific level of boy scout. Enough college level credits. He went from specialist to Sargent in exactly the right amount of time.
>>64977449*Sergeant
>>64977449>He went in as a specialist Fuck you talmbout
>>64977458He went in as an e3. Close enough. I was guessing. So if he had guard time before ait he was specialist in 6 months. Still making is move from e4 to e5 right on schedule. Close your cock holster before your step daddy fills it again.
>>64977458Because you are a tard ill explain it. You can do basic on the summer between junior and senior year of high school. Serve in the NG your senior year. Then after you graduate you go to ait. Then you only have to wait for the six months time in grade to be promoted. Your mom likes black guys. That makes you sad. We get it. Enough with the weeb racism. Grow a sack and use the words you really mean faggot.
>>64977487Wow that's a lot of words to say I'm right. Thanks for the concession.
>>64977413Jrotc classes in high-school also guarantee promotion after graduating boot.>would you like to know more?
