Defending against this indoors might not doable. If it sidestepped facing you down a hall the operator or its AI would magdump you but if you were standing right behind the corner and could hear it scampering along you'd just kick it over and/or be ready to grab it to disarm the weapon. It would not put up much of a melee fight unless these things start to get built like terminators and would just rip you in two if you tried to grapple it.. which I mean may happen eventually for clearing units etc but well we aren't there yet. Also if they started to actually be a problem and used all the time probably just lots of wiring suspended at about its upper leg or body height to snag and trap them would probably work. A guy could just step over the traps and these things would have no way over them unless they started carring wire cutters on little arms etc. which again if there was a tangible use case for that you may eventually see it.
