>even manufacturers of $4,000 guns cannot into proper text centering on their engravings
I am not wrong about this, so don't try to argue that this is OK, but... why? Do people really not care? Do people just not see it? Are they really not bothered?

Another example. Why, walther, why? I will not buy your gun now.

Yes? Those of us who actually pay attention to typography and give a shit are a small breed anon. I almost wish I never had done any graphic design work because you see it a lot of places instead of blissfully not noticing it. I've seen tons of shops with awesome engineering and metal and machining guys who will sweat the details on a great deal of stuff but then something like engraving is a total after thought. I mean shit, isn't that true across most industries? How many software engineers also do nice GUIs or websites or whatever? Sometimes you've got someone autistic about detail everywhere but usually they're focused on the key thing they care about.

If you're spending real money on some sort of custom job and you care then just hunt around until you either find a place that cares themselves or at least a place willing to outsource the engraving to a specialist.

Most people don't have an eye for these things overall. They can't notice that shit is misaligned, crooked, un-centered and so on. If you only knew how bad it is when dealing with UI and graphic design and development. A developer which has a natural eye for these things is worth his weight in gold. Others literally look at botched shit and can't notice what's wrong.

This just looks like it's intentionally aligned to the right. That's more a matter of preference.
>>64994972
This is close enough that it appears misaligned.

This. If there was a Venn diagram with one circle being "gun owners" and the other circle being "typographers", the intersection would be miniscule.

I'm more annoyed by the missing spaces in the actual text.
>>

Ironic, coming from a post with reddit spacing. Welcome to 4chan, we don't use unnecessary line breaks here.

That is a $800 gun.

>>64994972
That is a $600 gun.

Those are not expensive guns.

It sells for $3000. Would love to know where you can find it for $800.

That's not the point. It doesn't cost manufacturers anything extra to center text properly. It's a 10 second fix by whoever is programming the CNC machine, or 0 seconds if they did it right to begin with. In fact, apparently they've already fixed it, as I've found photos of the same gun with the problem fixed. But there is no way to know a gun bought online sight unseen will be the "correct" version.

This. It doesn't look like a botched attempt at centering, it looks like they chose to justify the text to the right, which is a design decision not a mistake.

Frankly I couldn't care less about if the text were centered or right-justified. IMHO the choice of font is poor, the checkering is meh, and they weren't very careful polishing the thing either.

It is centered you're just picking arbitrary points to start measuring like the cocking serrations instead of looking at the whole frame.

Honestly i would prefer no lettering on any gun, i get stamps are important to know whats what but can it be in like a non externally visible place? Looks like shit
