>>64995457NBC suits like those (the charcoal types) are absolute dogshit. They suck since they're non-reusable and only provide chemical protection for IIRC 48 hours after you open them, once. They also are straight up worse against nuclear threats since fallout particles will stick and get caught inside fabric. If you want an actually good military style NBC suit, get one that's made of rubber (IE: Soviet OZK, German ZODIACK, Czech OPCH 70, etc) or get the industrial DuPont Tychem ones that are made of plastic
>>65002958Okay, you're completely full of shit on multiple claims. Charcoal suits keep their filtration effectiveness until the charcoal is gone, which takes about a week in heavy heat/dust conditions. The only downside with those suits is the fucking charcoal stains you get on your skin that takes forever to get rid of after you've worn that gear for several days at a time. "Fallout particles" are alpha and beta shit that if you are rained-on with won't be blocked by anything but lead, dumbass. Decon procedures wash that shit off just as well, no matter what material you were wearing when you got exposed. Lastly, rubber, plastic and tyvex suits are fantastic for extremely short-term use with air-conditioning available instantly after you're done doing whatever shit you were doing. Try wearing any of that material on a hot battlefield for more than an hour and you're going to be a heat casualty from nothing more than your shitty equipment. Kids like you spouting off about shit you have no idea about seems to be the new normal here.
>>65003514>Charcoal suits keep their filtration effectiveness until the charcoal is gone, which takes about a week in heavy heat/dust conditions. What do you mean "until the charcoal is gone"? If you have any understanding of how chemicals are filtrated with charcoal, you'll know that charcoal adsorbs (not absorbs) things like Sarin or Chlorine into pores in the charcoal. The charcoal doesn't leave the suit lining, it gets filled with chemicals until it can't hold anymore, to which it then fails. This also means that, much like a gas mask filter, it cannot be reused.>"Fallout particles" are alpha and beta shit that if you are rained-on with won't be blocked by anything but leadWhat I mean by "fallout" is the vaporized dust that is thrown into the atmosphere when there is a ground burst of a nuclear bomb, not Alpha or Beta radiation itself. And also, Alpha is stopped by a piece of paper, and Beta is heavily mitigated by your skin. Gamma/X-Rays are not stopped by anything but lead, and to add to that you cannot humanly wear the necessary amount of lead to stop Gamma/X-Rays.>Decon procedures wash that shit off just as well, no matter what material you were wearing when you got exposed.Objectively wrong. In a rubber suit you can just be hosed down whereas in a charcoal suit, if it hasn't been exposed to chemicals, will have to be decontaminated in a completely different way.>Lastly, rubber, plastic and tyvex suits are fantastic for extremely short-term use with air-conditioning available instantly after you're done doing whatever shit you were doing.Tell that to the Chernobyl Liquidators.
>>65003580>what do you mean?I'm sorry you're so deep on the spectrum you need a fucking wikipedia definition. "Charcoal gone" = "Charcoal no longer effectively absorptive". And yes, newfag, those suits weep a shitload of charcoal out of the fabric. It gets buried in the pores of your skin and sucks to get out. Which I know from personal experience, dimwit.>vaporized dust That might be the dumbest phrase I've ever read on this board. Also, genius, beta particles will absolutely burn your dumbass and cause cancer if you get enough contact with them, ingest, or inhale them. Gamma rays have absolutely nothing to do with "fallout" and you bringing it up here is nothing but chimp noise.>decontaminated in a completely different wayYeah. Here's where you step directly on your own dick. If you were exposed while wearing a suit of any material, the suit is disposed of, moron. You don't re-cycle contaminated PPE. Ever. >chernobylYou mean the guys who dug the mine naked, and all croaked from acute radiation exposure? Or the roof-shovelers who worked in 90 second shifts and all croaked from acute radiation exposure? Dumbass
