The neat thing about the Trump regime is thier ability to speak out of both sides of thier mouths, and both are the most retarded think you'll hear before the next news cycle.

No, he said he was holding off on hitting the power and gas infrastructure. He also said nothing about talking specifically to the IRGC or what passes for the Iranian government; I've seen speculation that it's fine-print for talks with the Shah and his people, since they really need that infrastructure to stave off famine if they somehow manage to take power. That said, I wouldn't get my heart set on any one interpretation, however. Between constant negotiation-by-tweet, bluster, and well, what can just be summed up as "it's just Trump", there's not much telling what the actual diplomatic situation is like.
>>
>>65003607
why would you even speak with the pretender? he hasn't any power or followers in Iran.
sure the diaspora may like him but they are as relevant to this entire thing than some random Brazilian
>>
>>65003607
Is the IRGC even unified? My impression was that elements started hitting the rest of the gulf states because high command didn't exist anymore.
>>
I can't read the future, bilut not having your MEU chilling with your carrier battle groups before hostilities broke means this is some seat of the pants bullshit. They didn't plan on using ground forces at all means what ever the original plan was didn't work and their original goals have not been achieved. This has all the signs of a grade A cluster fuck.

Kek, THAT'S the part tipping you of?
Not stocking up the SOR ahead of running the oil price skyhigh?
Or sending your only mineclearing ships half across the world right beforehand?
>>
>>65003607
>>65003630
Israeli media claimed that negotiations were held with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the parliament, some time later Mohsen Rezaee, one of the old guard and strogmen in the IRGC promptly issued a statement that the war will continue and there will be no negotiations even if means they have to kill Ghalibaf. so take it for what its worth I guess.

He tried, congress only gave him enough for a million barrels.

They werent moved, they were retired with the decision being made in 2019. They were removed from theater last year. There are LCS's currently configured for mine-warfare, they are being held in the Indo-Pacific because you dont send minesweeps into an a high-threat environment.

So, its not that there is a lack of planning or preparation. Its that you're extremely poorly informed, likely as you are brown.

This whole operation has the distinct feeling of a student desparately trying to pull an all nighter to get an assignment finished the day before it's due after realizing the minimum word count was 5,000 and not 500.
I think the only branch that's getting clear orders and objectives is the USAF (i.e. "drop a million JDAMs on Iranian militar targets") but even then gets getting warped with POTUS putting out strange things like "We will bomb all of Iran's power plants in 48 hours" to "on second thought no we won't" which were almost certainly not in the original mission (otherwise they would have been struck day 1 as part of a broader strategic campaign).

>>okay they could shoot at the f35 but the pilot managed to eject so its fine, its not like we hyped its capabilities for years
F-35 landed and considering that we are bombing Iran with total impunity and Iraq managed to shoot down 70+ aircraft I would say yes: the F-35 is pretty fucking hype.
>>
>>65003869
They clearly planned on this being a quick operation and didn’t have a plan B if it didn’t go perfectly. It looks unlikely that they’ll be able to accomplish what they want without a ground campaign and we’re not at all prepared to carry one out. And the longer it takes to get ready, and the longer it gets drawn out, the worse it is for the economy.

>Irans greatest moment in this war is that a fire broke out in a laundry room on a carrier
>>
>>65003899
The economy is already fugged, but it's going to take months for the secondary effects to filter through. It will take weeks to restore full production at some of those gulf refineries from cold shutdowns.
Gas prices are immediate, but inflation linked to rising costs for transport (fuel for trucks, aircraft), food (fertilizer), and manufacturing (plastics). And will probably kick in around about 5-6 months, just in time for the mid-terms
It'll be a spectacular own goal, high inflation was a big part of why the Biden administration lost the elections. Causing an inflationary crisis right before a crucial election is what most political analysts might refer to as "painfully fucking retarded"
>>
>>65003879
Him being brown doesn't deny that this whole operation is retard because of Trump.
>barely any preparation.
>only 2 and later 3 carriers.
>didn't bring friends (Israel is 51st state. They don't count)
>mistakenly thinking they can archive almost impossible objective (regime change) with minimal effort (just bombing. No boots on ground)
>got panicked and distracted by trivial thing (rising oil price) and then make everything even worse (relief the oil sanction for Russia and Iran)
This war was hard carried by F-35 and F-15. But in the end, it doesn't matter when people on top are blubbering idiot who only care about themselves.

Do we need friends?

I'd say its a little too soon to be saying that.

I'm sorry we took the global economy into account.

>Your carrier that has been on operations for 255 days (second longest in US history) has mechanical issues and the Kuwaiti's shot down two of your planes
>so this is tremendously embarrasing
The fact that Kuwait has shot down more US aircraft than Iran is what's embarrassing, for (you).

Shameful, utterly shameful to be so totally defenseless.
>>
>>65001840
He clarified in an interview that Kushner talked to "a top guy" after Iran counterclaimed "there have been no negotiations".

Me? I personally think the shah of Iran was great as the final season's antagonist.
>>
>>65003898
If the F35 was hype and indeed landed and was fine, pictures would have released of it by now too help hype up resilient of a design it is to help sell them. This hasn't happened to it's likely the plane was fucked or even that they are lying and the pilot punched out of it over friendly airspace. Either way it's not a good look especially amongst Israeli jets getting shot down as well
>>
>>65004106

Per Centcom, the pilot was injured. But the explosion was behind the aircraft.
