When I go to the range, I often encounter people shooting a foot size group on a silhouette at 5 yards. Sometimes they shoot fast, sometimes slow, but seemingly they never attempt to aim. Hey guys, went to the range a couple of days ago and tried out my friend's Witness. I'm cross dominant (Right hand, Left eye) and have always shot with my right hand and pulled my arms cross my body to line up the sights. Decided to try shooting with my left hand instead because I was frustrated with my groups. Holy shit, it felt like cheating. I pointed more naturally, acquired the sights easier after shots, and my groups shrank by 50%. Manipulating the mag release and slide stop was awkward but I'll get over it.

This pocket rocket ruined all handguns for me. Shoots just as good at 15 yards as my Px4 and RXM, and close enough group size at 25 yards to not care about the difference.Easily slips into the front pocket on any pair of pants I own. How frequently do you guys practice with your carry rounds? I got to talking with one of the old timers at my local shop, and he stated that you should only carry what you've trained to shoot, hence he carried 115 grain fmj. Is this actual advice, or just fuddlore?

You never calmly pick up your gun off a table and then leisurely shoot at the rate of 1 round per 5 seconds at someone trying to kill you. You should practicing drawing a gun fast, practice drawing and shooting as fast as possible, practice shooting as fast as possible but still hitting the target, etc. Practicing with your carry ammo is smart, but what's smarter is finding a FMJ that behaves reasonably similar to your carry ammo recoil wise and impact wise. Some ammo may have dramatically different POI compared to others, like if you were carrying 50 gr hollow points and practicing with 147 gr, they likely have different POI. Speer sells "lawman" which should behave almost identically to their Gold Dot carry ammo. It's not like 115 gr "isn't" going to just bounce off but FMJ is less lethal than JHP, the survival rate in inner city shoot outs is high because of the lack of accuracy and the fact most of them shoot FMJ since it's all they steal or buy.
