Why were open sights (aren't they both open? I know I've heard people call peep sights open sights) so much more popular than peep sights on sporting and military rifles for so long? like even now a lot of guns that come with iron sights come with open sights. I know I had a gun with open sights and after I put aftermarket peep sights on it my groups shrunk (and they shrunk even more with a red dot and I have an astigmatism)
