I have been fortunate enough to have my own property to shoot on for most of my life, but recently I have started shooting matches and going to public ranges both with and without RSOs. I have become extremely annoyed by RSOs, but also disturbed by the idiots with guns being beyond unsafe. And that is coming from my POV, I would consider myself rather relaxed when it comes to gun safety, I don't follow a 180 degree rule, I keep weapons loaded constantly, I point them at things, I take my safety off before im ready to shoot, etc. I am not a nigger, but I don't exactly follow the NRA three laws of gun safety to the letter. I am wondering what your experiences/opinions are or if you have your own philosophy on range safety. Is there a better way?

Here is a straw poll on if you would rather have a 'safe' range with an RSO, or a 'unsafe' range without an RSO. These are obviously two extremes where there might be a different answer, but this is just to get a general idea of peoples attitudes.

In what very few ranges I've been too they have been even more strict than the Army was with a split class of uppity members and idiots fumbling around. Not many niggers in my experience or area thankfully. I stick to inna woods to avoid people in general.

at a range I want strick safety rules but lax shooting rules
I don't trust any of the motherfuckers there so I don't want them to have a weapon out until they are at a bay with the gun pointed down range
but I also want to be able to rapid fire and shoot with different positions than just sitting at a bench

It's a catch 22 situation on both sides. On the one hand safety rules are extremely gay and cringe. On the other you don't want some retarded dipshit shooting you by accident. There's two issues - 1. regular citizens have almost no capacity for self-policing in current year. Everyone has cameras and our legal system is pure cancer so everyone is just itching to sue somebody and get a huge windfall and kowtows to public perception. You can't just beat the shit out of some dipshit with your buddies to send the message, as was the standard for thousands of years.
2. (Related to #1) These rules also only "work" in a homogenous societies with shared culture and values.

>three laws of gun safety
There's four and you admit to not even following three properly. You're one of the people you complain about and dont even realize it.

It's a nice pipe dream, but the problem is those two things are inexorably linked. The reason why so many ranges ban rapid fire is because when Tyquarius and DeMarcus try that the bullets go all over the place in a massive arc, but none of them it the target. Or they end up shooting over the berm because they can't control the muzzle rise.
