The Lodestar LNK9 was just released. It’s apparently a new entry into the “smart” gun market.
>950 beans
>thumb print and pin pad for activation
>can’t find any videos on their website or instagram of it actually working lmao (I didn’t look hard)

Another big flop? How does this compare to the vaporware that is the Biofire Smart Gun? At least that had videos of it working

What are your thoughts on smart guns IF for the sake of argument they are not used to limit your rights to have normal guns?
>>
>What are your thoughts on smart guns IF for the sake of argument they are not used to limit your rights to have normal guns?

Sure.
>What happens when the battery dies or the electronics fail?
>>
Vapoware. Biofire had Google jew money and still hasn't released their PoS guncontrol machine. This is like the Temu knockoff of that so it will either break with light use or never work.
>>
>let's take a machine and make it more complex with no real benefits
>>

What if it's cold outside and I wear gloves, and someone attacks me? Do gloves finally come off then?
>>
>>65007568
With the lodestar apparently the battery lasts like 2 years and it’s only replaceable by the company. It also automatically unlocks when the battery runs out
>>
>>65007614
You’d use the pin I guess? Personally I think the BioWare version is better with facial recognition in addition to fingerprint
>>
cool idea and worth continuing research but the gun community simply will not tolerate a safety mechanism that adds considerable reliablity risks.
>>
>>65007631
This, im sure the electronics/interlocks are fail safe, which is fail-unsafe when we’re talking about a defensive firearm.
>>
>>65007622
So, if it bricks the "smart" part, it's just a normal, albeit slightly overcomplex pistol.

I'll stick with what I have, thanks.
>>
>>65007622
>fail-deadly smart gun
Literally what is the point
>>
>>65007503
I think, for the sake of argument, your premise is meaningless because the only reason anyone is trying to develop this shit is solely for the purpose of attaining a monopoly on firearm sales in multiple states, with an aim to attain monopoly when the argument gets made to force adoption of those regulations nationally. I think anyone attempting to bring these to market should be frustrated at every turn, with every means neccessary. I think it's entirely about limiting rights and any disingenuous bad faith arguments from the people pushing for them should be met with an emphatic "go fuck yourself". You know that the police won't be forced to use this. You know that the people guarding those pushing for this won't be forced to use this. No, I will not engage in good faith with a product that is designed entirely in bad.

>>65007646
Idk plus I wasn’t even able to find any evidence that it can even work in the first place. Weird fly-by-night company
>>
>>65007660
>solely for the purpose of attaining a monopoly on firearm sales in multiple states, with an aim to attain monopoly when the argument gets made to force adoption of those regulations nationally

everything is all about you. specifically about oppressing you and your good time.
>>
Increasing the things that can fail on a gun is never a good idea
>>
>>65007503
>What are your thoughts on smart guns IF for the sake of argument they are not used to limit your rights to have normal guns?
Just plain unnecessary if you have half a fucking brain and don't leave loaded guns around children
>but what if a jogger sneaks up on you and swipes it?
First of all >relaxing around blacks. Second, why are you OCing a real gun instead of a decoy? Third, if you're retarded enough to let that happen then you're too dumb to figure out that gun's safety lock

All that said, I fully support and endorse them being adopted by any and all LEAs
>>
>>65007503
>thumb print and pin pad for activation
Mandatory issue for cops, they never have to worry about having their gun stolen and used against them during an arrest. Will show everyone how well it works.
>>
>>65007663
Considering several states have laws on the books that as soon as a working "smart" gun is viably widespread commercially every other handgun will be outlawed I'm not going to budge an inch on my position. Fuck these things, fuck the shifty double niggers trying to make these things, and fuck anyone that buys one.
>>
>>65007503
They make this thing called a biometric handgun safe that costs less and does the same fucking thing.
>>
>>65007503
>SmartGun system
>does not feed targeting info to my cybereyes so I can shoot more accurately, just makes the gun faggier
The future is fucking gay.
>>
>>65008425
But its not smart, I want Gun2.0 with a monthy subscription service to access the trigger and upload my groups and splits to instagram and tik tok instantly. I NEED to be able to doomscroll twitter through the sights
>>
>>65008165
That’s literally not even true. They used to, but they no longer exist

>What are your thoughts on smart guns IF for the sake of argument they are not used to limit your rights to have normal guns?
That's this thing's only selling feature.
Why wouldn't I just buy any other gun?
It's a failure point introduced solely to limit rights.
>>
>>65007503
did this actually get released released? FUCK I live in NJ and don't have the cash to go buy a real handgun and they are 100% going to reinstate the handgun ban law now
>>
>>65007503
pretty sure mossberg is the only company to announce smart gun research and not go bankrupt. there's zero reason to ever get a smart gun because they don't work. police unions refuse to use them. the whole point is to ban handguns like the microstamping shit >>65007622
so you can just by the gun, break the battery or let it die and it's a normal gun? doesn't that defeat the point?
>>
>>65007631
there isn't a market for it so it's not really worth the research
>>65007661
it's because anti gun groups will give smart gun grifters funding for this shit because they want to reinstate the new defunct NJ law and ban handguns
>>
>>65007660
>>65008165
this
>>65007663
I live in NJ. we literally had a law that would ban all handguns if these things were ever made which got removed because no one would make these guns due to the law, but they will 100% reinstate it. california has that microstamping law that bans all handguns. I think other states might have it too. I think we have one that triggers if microstamped guns are put on the market or that might have just been a bill. either way if a smart gun or microstamped gun does become a thing blue states will 100% use it to ban normal handguns. look at california where they banned glocks
>>
>>65007902
>>65008128
kek, we know the cops will strike before using this PoS
>>65008857
NTA but they will 100% reinstate the law once a gun comes out
