>1st gen exoskeletons are being field tested in Ukraine
How long until we see operators using them to lug around Ma Deuces and a ammo backpack like a Metal Gear midboss?
>>
>>
>>
isn't it just for grunts that carry things? that's good too, but we've had such exoskeletons for a while.
>>
>>65007920
> isn't it just for grunts that carry things?
That’s basically all soldiers
>>
completely unironically. if we can replace all limbs with lighter prosthetics, we only need to armour the torso and the head since prosthetics dont bleed, and that'll save a lot on weight.
>>
>>65007963
Why not a skul-gun?
>>
>>65007837
An M2 is tricky since the recoil is so great. An M60 is more likely and will leave more carrying capacity for armor and ammo.
>>
>>65007977
i dont think we can keep a decapitated head alive yet. we could shave off a lot of things though, like the genitals, spleen, pelvis, etc.
>>
The reality is the exoskeletons mean your infantry are mules and need fewer resupplies or logistics.
>>
>>65008003
Skullgun I think is a cranial gun. Probably not feasible with the recoil, lasers could cook your brain.
>>
>>65007837
>he doesn't know ukies have been fielding exos since 2012
baka
>>
>>65008015
Still good. More carrying capacity can mean either more firepower, more armor, or more endurance. Granted, you're not punching out tanks but that was always a silly idea.
>>
>>65008015
The reality is that exo-skeletons are a dead end because they injure the operators. It wont be until we can make massive ones like in the Alien franchise or Avatar where no weight is placed on the human body, that they become viable.

Crack a book, homie.
>>
>>65008111
Localized load spreaders are fine. The problems appear when you try to go for full-body racks, which interfere with and overstress the body's natural joint movements. Especially if they're fully-passive, and rely exclusively on augmenting mechanical impulse.
>>
>>65008126
A book like Starship Troopers?
Or a book like Wearable Exoskeleton Systems: Design, control and applications (Control, Robotics and Sensors)
https://www.amazon.com/Wearable-Exoskeleton-Systems-applications-Robotics/dp/1785613022

'Cause they both say you're full of shit.

>>
>>65007837
You probably won't see these turned into 'armoured exo-suits' or used to make HMG's 'man portable'. Instead generals are just going to find another 40kg of 'completely necessary and important gear' to issue every infantryman instead.
>>
>>65007986
Ever seen aliens? In that film there's an absolutely beautiful rig for carrying a full on autocannon. It was based off of a camera carrying rig and could easily work with the exoskeletons shown.
>>
>>65008540
Yeah, that thing is WAY off in the future. Also, it's clunky as hell and too much of an easy target.
>>
>>65007837
This is not actual full blown exoskeleton frame.

True but I don't think anyone cares.

Does it help them bow and then lift up the shell or does it also help them carry it?
I don't see any exoskeleton from the knee down (or the waist up for that matter) so do they just pick up the shell with their bare hands and carry it with their own legs?
>>
>>65009007
They do exactly what they did before, but with fewer lower back injuries.
>>
>>65007963
if you go one step further you'll end up with something like the shapes from texhnolyze. Just some bio-pod to keep the head alive.
>>

Can you have it lock in position so you always have a chair available like Huey does in Phantom Pain?

We can grow human brain tissue, keep it alive in a jar and make it play doom. This is something that has actually been done.
>>
>>65009195
it grows in there though
not sure a living brain can get through the shock of being severed off from everything else

Which study has said this?

Wouldn't the Hardiman take that title?
>>
>>65007837
They are wearing hypershells.
>>
>>65009195
A small amount of neurons is a lot less demanding than a whole brain though. and there's a difference between cultivating them for a few weeks or months vs. decades.
I also wouldn't be surprised if those "human neurons" were somehow modified to more easily grown in the lab.
>>
>>65009314
Only if they were deployed.
>>
>>65007837
>>65007840
>>65007846
I like how it maximizes the load on the wearers knees by passing the posterior chain and directly loading the knees joints.
>your disability is not service related
>>
>>65007837
what is the battery life on it? 10 minutes?
>>
>>65009617
If its single task related you dont need a battery. Weird series of springy shit just kinda molds your body so that a resting position is different and you just kinda move.
>>
>>65009617
I'm pretty sure it's mechanical, not powered. Should mean that since it's quicker and easier to pick up and move shells it will increase the fire rate of their gun.
>>
>>65009607
Yea without going down to your boots, its all trash

anon that was for balance, which i agree is a neat way, however it would do nothing for recoil off of modern autocannons etc. Didn't really think of that aspect didja?

>Year 10 of the 3-day SMO
>Ukraine, in collaboration with massive EU robotics and AI companies, have developed brain interface technologies that allow their pilots and drone operators to control multiple aircraft and drones using their mine. The 1st gen autonomous robots are being set up along the eastern border with Russian as a wall of titanium to gun down anyone entering Ukraine
>Russia is importing mass amounts of people from India and China with the false promise of getting them jobs and a better life only to be packed into trains and sent to be the weekly human wave attack against the robot wall

How Ukraine went from this to being capable of casually take nice ride deep in Russian territory blow oil refinery with drones in heart of enemy territory and casually return to Ukraine without getting caught. How, just how.

There's such a dishonesty on this board about the conflict, every time Ukraine does something or there's some sort of vaguely positive message be it a random piece of equipment or taking of a small Hut we see the exact same argument of all Ukraine is so beautiful and they're winning, meanwhile how many ukrainians are dead in the ground. Oh and I'm going to get back the replies of but Russia , and Russians have never cared about casualties or their own men. I recommend you read some SS autobiographies about the Eastern front. The stories are completely ludicrous like, Russian officers forcing soldiers to sit in a hole exposed with German soldiers approaching them with flamethrowers and the German soldiers were begging these guys to literally give up and the officer would not let them shot one guy in the head. They were all burned alive that's a mentality you're dealing with so this continuously waiting for something to break on the Russian side is nuts. Russians don't really care about life even their own lives

Ukraine is white, unlike some of its supposed allies

>The US is opposed to Ukraine supplying its weapons to the Persian Gulf states, says a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security.
>"They want to obtain these technologies from Ukraine and then export them themselves," Rakhmanin said.
>>
>>65009195

DARPA has some neat ideas with biological stuff though.

For example, plankton consuming underwater systems that power themselves with this.

There are other systems that use cells too.

>>

From the Ukie side, the ATO in donbabwe was something of a side show. After 2022, the whole country was invested in kicking ruzzian ass, including the country's best and brightest (the ones that didn't leave it, that is). A country wholly dedicated to doing anything will likely do it well if the will and money is there. And with the government, population and foreign aid all contributing financially, Ukrainian MIC and tactics both made large strides.

On the other hand, rusniggers were too confident and corrupt to innovate properly. Together with the degradation of their competent military staff and equipment, they're just not as capable (drones aside) as they were in 2022.
>>
>>65009607
>how it maximizes the load on the wearers knees
The load is always going through the knees. What are you talking about?
