Does anyone know make active electronic earpro that protects your ears against big calibers like 50 AE, 500sw, etc without doubling up and still allows you to hear stuff?

double up, get something like AMPs with NFMI ear plugs (the plugs are electric, fed by the headset, offering double protection and very good audio)
the cheaper solution is something like Impact Pros with MAXX earplugs but that will muffle your hearing

Lol bro just use foam plugs

Too expensive and you can't double up whenever you want to. It's a pain.

Use a suppressor.

I have shot thousands of rounds of .50 BMG (among other things) with these cheap shits on. Mostly with no foamies underneath. In hindsight this was probably reckless but I have no hearing loss, no tinnitus etc. I'm sure that other good earpro like comtacs and such are superior, but I think my case goes to show that you don't really need a gucci setup to shoot big calibers.

You can double up whenever you want you fucking tard, how are you incapable of putting a foam tipped earplug in your ear?

Do gel cups improve noice canceling performance or is it just comfort?
