Real answer:Cheap countermeasures have apparently not been implemented yet for whatever reason. Don't base what is happening between Russia and the Ukraine on what would happen with the US. The pentagon has been well aware of the affect of drones on military operations and has been modifying doctrine and hardware for decades. Even as far back as the 80s carriers began to be equipped with CIWS.
