Ok but why? Clearing out AT scattermines unopposed is just a nuisance for an hour or two
>>65013192village wasn't the target, it's the TEL base in the mountain next to the village
>>65013221Sure, but still, why? Impede TEL movement for an hour or two? Why not strike them directly?
>>65013192My best guess is they wanted to tell Trump they were doing something to stop TELs and knew he doesn't have any idea how easy it is to clear air dropped un-defended mines.
>>65013192BLU-91/B is only used in GATOR, which carries a mix of antitank and antipersonnel mines. If they're finding BLU-91/Bs somewhere alone they're probably duds that have been moved.
>>65013192They were trying to drop AP mines on the village but private Gonzalez mixed up the labels because he can't read.
>>65013234Pin them in place before they can scatter while the proper strike force is sent in.
What the fuck is a TEL?

>>65013234>>65013266Depending on the time and weather, recon sats pass over the missile cities once every fifteen minutes to couple hours. The longer crews are observable during the launch sequence, the higher chance of interdiction. Forcing crews to clear mines means launchers take longer to deploy. Even if the effect is on the margin, just a slight increase in the chance of interdiction will reduce the time it takes to erode Iran's launch capabilities.
