Is this what modern warfare has become?Just sitting around, getting your drones ready to blow up the other guy?Or just sitting around, waiting for the other guy's drones to suddenly blow you up?
Yeah. Drone is the end stage of artillery.
>>65015902yeah until somebody develops cheap countermeasures for it
>>65015902Yes, the only step left is teaching drone swarms to work completely autonomous via AI and just fly around the border while evaporating any enemy that dares to cross the line. Gazillion drones flying around, identifying enemy and suicide bombing them.
>>65017033This is the endgame of drone warfare unless we get good hard kill systems fast.Microwave guns have potential but could be shielded against.
>>65015902It's just WWI but the artillery is individually controlled. We've come full circle, if anything.
>>65015902>Is this what modern warfare has become? No, not really. The retarded hobo-battle that is Ukraine is not indicative of anything other than a large-post soviet army got faught to a standstill by a smaller post-soviet army with NATO accoutrements. Iran isnt really a "war" in the sense that Isreal wants kill certain capabilities and the US wants a deal (the military force is the result of some unwise words from the Iranians and the penchant for a certain NY real-estate mogul to apply pressure in transactions)
>>65017033>drone swarms to work completely autonomous via AIOr just direct mind control, life will imitate art.
It was already about calling in your arty in WW1. Even before that direct fire artillery could determined the battle in the Napoleonic wars. You might have had a too romantic idea of warfare.
>>65015902sitting around waiting has always been one of the major cornerstones of war
War is heck, not glamorous.
the daily highlight zigger drone destruction reel the Ukies post are equally enjoyable as they are scary.they have these 17-19 year old kids, men and women, hopped up in cigarettes and energy drinks just piloting FPV drones through a fuckin hole in a wall, around a corner and down the stairs straight into the face of some vatnik taking a shit on the toilet in the basement.
>>65015902>what modern warfare has becomeJust sitting around, reading Guns 'N Ammo, masturbating in your own feces. Then you stop and go, "Wow, it's crazy how fucked up we really are."
>>65018398and vatniks do the same shit to Ukrainians. Oh wow so kewl. The glorification of this bumfight is depressing.
>>65018507>and vatniks do the same shit to UkrainiansA bit more then just doing the same, they also target civilians>saw the webm of ziggers FPV striking old man with dog holding a white flag and then latter killing his friend that was trailing behind.I have yet to see footage of ukies FPV striking old people in russia holding white flags.
>>65018507russian subhumans WISH they could do the same to Ukrainians at that scalewhat was it, 8000 killed in the "spring offensive" so far?
>>65018398To be clear that girl is not actually flying an fpv, she's using a sim for training/practice.I know because I do the same at work on my lunch break.Flying an fpv in acrobatic mode is more difficult than you'd think, it takes at least 15-20 hours to get good at it, and you need to keep those skills up every now and again, a sim let's you use your FPV gear with any laptop. She's using a Radiomaster Pocket which just plugs into USBC and acts as a joystick, and DJI goggles.
>>65018790and which sim is the most realistic?
>>65018790>it takes at least 15-20 hours to get good at ithats an insanely short amount of time to get familiar with a weapon system.mortarmen literally have the easiest job of any infantry, take a shell and drop it the correct way into a friggin tube and turn away from the blast and they train for months just to be able to use it
>>65015902Another day, another vatnigger column is looking good.
>>65018790>To be clear that girl is not actually flying an fpv, she's using a sim for training/practice.>I know because I do the same at work on my lunch breakI've messed around with it too.Ukies have network control for some of their interceptors now so wfh as a drone operator is technically possible albeit terribly insecure.
>>65018826>and which sim is the most realistic?I was told to use liftoff by a ukie tdf drone builder.
I wonder what happens if you combine Ukie drone know-how, America Project Maven battlefield AI and China's ability to shit out limitless drone components.>>65018333>We've come full circle, if anything. It kind of reminds me of those tribes coming together to throw spears at each other in an abstract way.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeMQEQ3vtng>>65018351I like how you pre-emptively added your cope in for why the doctrine of shooting the archer hasn't worked out.
>>65018826>>65019105Liftoff is good, also I think Velocidrone is very realistic as well.>>65018919To be fair 15-20 hours is what I would say is bare minimum baseline you should have in a sim before you try flying for real. Many people out there on the net recommend much higher sim time, I've heard 80 hours recommended.Personally I think that's excessive, I jumped in after ~20 and was fine, but I think I may have picked it up faster than most. If you're interested in trying it out, I think Velocidrone and a RM Pocket (get an ELRS version, that's the most popular FPV radio link) will run you ~$80 together, and I regularly run that on the laptop I bring to work, which is old as fuck (7440HQ processor, no GPU).You can pick up goggles for ~$200 or so and they'll be functional, but obviously more expensive options will yield better results. DJI seems to be top dog at the moment, but you can make anything really work with some effort.I've seen guys use Quest VR headsets which is cool, because it allows you the option to keep track of your immediate surroundings with the integrated CCDs they have, and you can also obviously use them with other non-FPV intent.Right now I'm experimenting with Xreal S1 glasses for my goggles and an external digital video receiver setup because I'm trying not to look like a fucking mutant and draw attention to myself when I go fly out in public, which unfortunately most goggles tend to do.Those are pricey, $450, but so far they've been fucking awesome and I personally think is how I'm going to go about it in the foreseeable future unless there's some kind of drastic next level improvement.
>>65018366>Direct mind control of drone swarmsPlease god no.
>>65015902Is this what modern warfare has become?Just sitting around, getting your artillery ready to blow up the other guy?Or just sitting around, waiting for the other guy's artillery to suddenly blow you up?
>>65018506Get back. Get back you fucking freak!
>>65015902combat... combat is not the same as it once was...
>>65015902
>>65018529Or the guy trying to flee, pushing his disable wife in a wheelchair, ziggers kill her first, then come for him. Every "human safari" drone operator should be broken on the wheel.
no, this war still has a lot of direct fire engagements involving infantry and vehicles, only biased retards think otherwise
>>65023714Just pounded those fucking guys for two whole minutes, and they didn't have any way to punch back? Didn't flee or anything? Just sit and wait for their turn?
>The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots. And as you go forth today remember always your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots. The Simpsons - S8E25 - May 1997
>>65015909The loitering munition .... is the 21st Century equivalent of the mortar.Soon, it will be as natural for us to see the loitering munition platoon as an integral part of an infantry company in the same way that the organic mortar or ATGM platoon is. In fact, the loitering munition will eventually be able to replace both.In time, instead of a grenade launcher, every rifleman may even handcarry a packed FPV drone which can be used to drop explosives on the heads of the enemy. Signallers will not need to carry a sognal set or anntenae, a loitering UAV overhead will be able to function as a aerial rebro station. Forward air controllers will be obsolete as the UAV takes over. Commanders will not need a GPS, compass or binoculars, the UAV offers unlimited and unhindered line of sight as a navigation aid. UAVs will be able to carry out resupply missions by delivering ammunition, rations, and medical supplies to isolated units.Eventually ..... we may not even need to carry toilet paper into the field. The UAV will wipe our asses and act as a flying bidet
>>65021379War has changed
>>65018398Oh my god those feet. GET IN MY MOUTH RIGHT NOW FUUUUUUCK! Jesus, I would volunteer for Ukraine just to receive her used crocs.
>>65026358Dude, that's a dead average girl. She's a Ukrainian 5.
>>65018529>I have yet to see footage of ukies FPV striking old people in russia holding white flags.probably because you consume your content from biased sources, as does most of this board. ukraine has absolutely FPV'd civs.
>>65024957Nah, this is heading towards drones and robots fighting. We've already seen that drones can be mass produced and really hard to counter and that's only going to get better and better. Every time there's a countermeasure the tech improves to circumvent it, creating a constant pressure to improve the tech. We've seen robots already doing presentations, and when that's perfected they'll be mass produced and deployed.Training a soldier and making sure they behave properly and are fit and can carry gear and so on it time consuming and expensive. Mass producing a robot is comparatively much easier. And once training data is refined from operating it live it can be then used on following generations of them as they get better and better. Not to mention that they're entirely disposable, can easily switch roles as needed and don't require the same logistical upkeep as soldiers.
>>65026911>N-NOOOOOO BOTHSAME BOTHSAME BOTHSAME>MUST MAINTAIN NARRATIVE MUST MAINTAIN NARRATIVEyou can just accept the reality that ukranians feel a duty to be better and more morally upstanding than the country that attacked them completely unprovoked and tried to erase them anon. trying to kill civilians with drones for bloodsport reasons is tactically and strategically pointless, plus very in line with hundreds of years of zigger culture and behavioral patterns, and ukranians formed a rift between them and zigs specifically because they never wanted to be a part of that.>h-hasdo you have proof?do you have evidence?if you do, do you have proof that it was done with clear intention to hurt a civilian target, as shown in russian footage, rather than being a mistake?are they doing it with the same regularity that russians are and openly fucking bragging about it?if your answer to any of these questions is no, then shut the fuck up nigger.
