If your gun could speak, what would it say? Would it love you and be your friend? Or would it hate you?
>>
>>65018284
Idk what it would say, I'm not sure how much it liked being inside me.
>>
>>65018284
It'd say "OP is a faggot"

Probably a bit sad that it's not shot very often, but at least they're not lonely.

The aimpoint on this rifle really just rocks. I had a vortex viper on it before but it was a bit too much scope for me. The aimpoint's 2MOA dot is just perfect.

I will never forgive them for making the m14 so fucking sexy yet so fucking trash in terms of its gas system and MOA.

An 870 would call me a slut for jacking it off

It would pointedly refuse to talk to me due to the things I mutter under my breath while cleaning it.

mine is pretty accurate but its also a national match so.
>>
>>65018284
It wouldn’t say anything. It would listen. Which is what no one ever did.
>>
>>65022896
Yeah, that makes sense. I know if you’re willing to spend a pretty penny you can get really nice ones that are indeed accurate and reliable, but at the same time no free floating barrel = having to resight the rifle everytime you take it apart and reassemble it AGGGGGHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (exclamation of pain and disappointment)

Yeah I know what you mean. That's not really an issue though unless you're using an EBR chassis. A basic field strip (removing the action from the stock, removing the bolt/oprod/spring) won't do that though in my experience. I had this rifle in an EBR chassis and really the only thing you could do was lube up the rifle and punch the bore. Repeated removal with a bedded stock, or even any stock can degrade the fitment overtime. The only zero issues I had was with the EBR when I first installed it. I had to torque the screws beyond their spec and loctite it. After that it was pretty decent.

My gun does talk, it says bang whenever I pull the trigger

Hmm you’re kinda selling me on it. I love the look of the EBR but I do like the look of the traditional M14 better. I’ll say again: it just looks SO. FUCKING. GOOD. Irons, Aimpoint, or full scope, it just looks amazing. It bridges that gap so well between the older school M1 Garand look while also having the detachable box mag and top barrel cover to make it look modern (despite it being like 70 years old now). Would you say it’s worth the money to get a nicer one like yourself with good accuracy and just NOT take the whole thing apart during cleaning like a retard? I don’t have a battle rifle and I’m a bit sick of the AR aesthetic despite how efficient it is.

Does that have the California compliant cuck mag with the loading gate in?

Come visit us on /brg/, my sample size with M1As are two, and I've had pretty good luck with them. If you want to be safe, try to get any variant of the 5 serial range "golden age" M1As. M1As, in my experience have tricky tolerances, so modifications have some settling into. My rifle started with a bedded wood stock before I put in the chassis, and had some issues when I put it in the fiberglass (had to swap out the connector lock pin from a NM style to a GI style just didn't anticipate that). Having owned multiple examples of FALs, PTRs and M1As, the M1A really is my favorite as it has the best sights and fantastic balance (if not in the chassis). The one I own now is a 1993 national match, and I only paid $1,700 for it like new at a gun show last october and it came with a bunch of magazines. The previous I owned was a newer loaded model (basically a GI model with an NM barrel and front sight) and I only traded it off because at the time I was worried about "babying" it. I've seen videos and reviews online of guys getting lemons, so maybe I'm just lucky, but also I wonder if they were using bad magazines. I have some no name (not a checkmate) mag that is absolute crap. The parkerization on it is waaaay too rough and so the follower ALWAYS gets caught up.

But yeah reasonably the only way I would see someone having to rezero in their rifle after dissassembly is if they removed the front sight assembly (if using irons only) which is unnecessary to service anything, or removed their scope mount, or they already had a poorly fitting stock and by removing the trigger assembly compromised the lockup of their stock and receiver.

I'd say shop around and take your time, they usually sell cheap second hand since they're not very popular these days. I want to get a GI model for the lighter barrel and to compliment my VN gear. This was my M1A how I got it.
