HK 33 5.56 and rebrands AP 53, etcHK 51 7.62/308 and rebrands AP51...Is the purpose of the short bbl so it's also a flashbang? The more practical versions of the longer originals make sense. Mission particulars, that require something more compact. HK G3/91k, 12.69" bbl, understandable. HK33k, 12.4-12.7, understandable. The physics dictates the 7.62x51 in a 8.3bbl is less effective than an 7.62x39. Is this what Americans want?Or is this what companies think Americans want?Do people want the mid range length (12.3") at all? Is the American consumer driven/distracted by packaging, appearance, general consumerism.. to spend and consume on "New"? Assuming practicality does not come into the 80% population consumer mind.INB4, Murica f*ck yeah!
>>65018729>Is this what Americans want? The military rifles they were based on HK53 and MC51, were requested by the British SASThey wanted rifle-calibre weapons with around a 22-inch OAL because that was the typical size of the glove compartment on a car
>>65018729Because those guns predated modern short barrel optimized calibres and it was the Cold War so the West wasn't exactly swimming in surplus Soviet/Chinese ammo?
Because they are fucking fun to shoot, something a nogunz eurocuck won’t understand
>>65018729>8.3" bblToo long. 51K master race
>>65018729Because fuck having arm hair and functional ear drums
>hk is so innovative they invented the 10.5 inch PSA ar-15 before anyone else
>>65018788No way that thing fits in a glove compartment
>>65018788>>65018810The 8.3" versions were rare and obscure. They had a few for special forces missions.>Need shorty for a dozen people>Make 308 shorter>Job doneSeems the 8.3" is the only thing readily available in the States. Which seems odd.
Because it’s sick AF. Everyone hear is a LARPer in some fashion, and this thing is perfect for all your millennial larping needs.
>>65019380Yep, that's going in my based collection.Nice gun
>>65018971Maybe in door cutouts
>>65019086Pistols have fewer import restrictions than rifles in the US. Barrels under a certain length can be imported as pistols, over a certain length and the ATF won't approve them being imported as pistols. They won't approve them as rifles because they don't meet the sporting firearm requirements. That being said, these guns are fun as fuck and if you don't like them you're a massive faggot.
>>65018729historically HK roller guns were more reliable with short barrels and suppressors than ARs or FALs or other contemporary guns so the SAS and maybe some American units, IDR, specifically ordered really short barrel 5.56 and 7.62 nato guns because they wanted an MP5 sized gun but in 5.56 or 7.62 nato.
>>65021663PTR makes HK's off of HK tooling.Century imports these shorty guns from Turkey. Is Century just better at marketing and flooding the market with one type of gun? If the consumer had the option for 12.3" would they take it or is the AMerican consumer only a Murica f*ck yeah! type? https://youtu.be/LasrD6SZkZkt. Matt Damon
>>65021693Probably. Also, much like with Soviet guns, you just make the AK but in a more compact sub gun/pistol size. Easier than developing a new compact platform.
>>65018729>The physics dictates the 7.62x51 in a 8.3bbl is less effective than an 7.62x39.The MC51 was made for the 14 intelligence company, as something they could hide under a coat and use to hose down passing vehicles and fuck up engine blocks; as their whole job boiled down to killing IRA/PIRA in drive-bys and being ambushed in return in drive-bys. Terminal performance beyond spitting distance was literally not a remote consideration; only that it could reliably penetrate car doors and engine grills at point blank.
>>65021805>PTR makes HK's off of HK tooling.lmao, no. They got their original tooling to make G3's from portugal. I can't imagine those same machines are still making parts. If they made an HK93 clone I'm sure it would sell. They have the tooling to make short barreled 7.62x51 guns so they have made those. I would rather have an import.
