I'm still mad jelly of the people who played on release that got absolutely insane drops off the VDV mobs like a VSS or AK-12 before the balance patch came out. Then Prigozhin's Revenge DLC ruined everything by trying to introduce the third faction, only good thing to come out of that was the red Z cosmetic for the T-72 but you don't even see anyone using that anymore either.

Literal vendor trash, and the VSS wasn't much better. The A-545 was the only mob drop that actually mattered and those only came from the limited time 'Rosgvardia' spawns.

this
you can redeem them for supplies, FPVs, bomber drones (Baba Yaga), and even EW jammers
an FPV drone costs about 2 points, a Baba Yaga about 45 points

you earn:
8 points for wounding a Russian
12 points for killing a Russian
25 points for killing a Russian drone operator
40 points for destroying a tank
120 points for capturing a Russian alive

Zigger officers get cash if they managed to advance and hold anything, hence they get around it somewhat by having 2 starved vatniks sitting in a treeline somewhere doing fuck-all and gaming the system by technically 'occupying something' even if its irrelevant
Hence they're pretty quick on the trigger to shoot a zigger if they don't get them some land or go on a foolish mission, plus 'any gain' is cash to them even at laughably outrageous casualties and equipment losses
>>
>>65025282
This war is so fucked, man.
The point system really makes sense, though. Units in hotter areas will require more hardware, so the amount of kills they tally up from the relative combat intensity feeds directly into the system.

essentially it's a highly user-intuitive feedback just-in-time supply chain system, no real different from having the Supply S-4 say "alright you killed ten panzers so here's twenty bazookas and a case of beer; you killed two so here's four, try harder" etc.

of course it rustles a lot of pearl-clutchers' jimmies about gamification of war and shit like that

but the Luftwaffe awarded medals the same way

and if you like your war-gamification more classical and literati, consider picrel

or Shakespeare's tennis balls:
>French Ambassador
In answer of which claim, the prince our master
Says that you savour too much of your youth,
And bids you be advised there's nought in France
That can be with a nimble galliard won;
You cannot revel into dukedoms there.
He therefore sends you, meeter for your spirit,
This tun of treasure; and, in lieu of this,
Desires you let the dukedoms that you claim
Hear no more of you. This the Dauphin speaks.

>KING HENRY V
What treasure, uncle?

>EXETER
Tennis-balls, my liege.

>KING HENRY V
We are glad the Dauphin is so pleasant with us;
His present and your pains we thank you for:
When we have march'd our rackets to these balls,
We will, in France, by God's grace, play a set
Shall strike his father's crown into the hazard.
Tell him he hath made a match with such a wrangler
That all the courts of France will be disturb'd

If you've ever been deployed, half your life often feels like sending back reports. Even when you're out leading patrols in some godforsaken shithole, your CO is going to need your daily in usually around dinnertime each night. Where you are, what you did, casualty reports, fuel, ammo used, troop conditions, vehicle states and next-step in your route. Which does seem like a massive pain in the arsehole and it is, except that it does help shape the mission, the equipment and even expectations.
Same with Ukraine
They want to know what works, what has most effect on target and if you submit enough evidence in your reports, it helps the military shape their battlespace
They won't be spending money on a poor ratio, just allocating and purchasing the correct gear for the job in real-time to the people it will have the most effect in their hands. A lot of people run around on the myth that a military is a large, inflexible monster that just eats money, time and lives. But in actuality that hasn't been a case for many decades.

NAYRT but the CCP version of a social credit system is no bueno because it translates to denial of basic rights at the bottom end
the crucial difference with Western democracies is that we don't deny basic rights based on social credit score

but if you really think about it, in terms of determining access to more and better forms of goods and services, and social approbation, in ALL societies, wealth has become a form of social credit system
but to try and change that would be to try and change a fundamental aspect of human nature, so pay no attention to the man behind the curtain

>What's the context?
Russian soldier punished for ratfucking during a supply shortage, leaving all the other pidors with empty bellies.
Punishments like these are common and considered completely normal in the russian military.
Often handed out for drug use, being drunk on duty, dodging work, refusing orders, or simply not letting more senior soldiers (and officers) steal their salaries and/or private property.
Repeated or particularly severe "crimes" can lead to even more severe punishment, such as brutal life-threatening beatings, rape, or just summary execution.

The executions can take multiple forms. Everything from beheading and gunshots, to being chained up left to die from exposure/drones, or being sent at gunpoint alone and unarmed towards the enemy.

Being beaten and stripped naked (or nearly naked) then tied up or chained somewhere exposed to the elements, bugs, possible enemy drones, etc seems to be a very common practice.
The locations used do however vary. Sometimes they're tied to trees, sometimes they're walled into basements, sometimes they're left in septic tanks, sometimes they're stuck in latrine pits with makeshift wooden bars on top to confine them.

The russians openly and eagerly do this shit to each other without questioning it, so you can imagine how fucking badly any captured Ukrainians get treated.

A tank is worth 6.3 times as much as an infantryman (tank: 1x40pts + 3x12pt crew).

Very broadly this is in line with the doctrinal/mathematactical strength of a tank. A tank is 1/4 of the manouevre strength of an armor platoon (same for a Soviet Motor Rifle Tank Platoon). Roughly speaking a quarter of the manouevre strength of a rifle platoon is between 6 people (Russian 8 person squads) and 6.75 people (US 9 person squads). The other manning in infantry platoons isn't hypothetically there to generate combat power, only to enable the rifle squads to generate it by supporting them somehow.
