Why doesn't russia just dig trenches toward the ukrainan lines?>better cover from drones >cover from artillery>easier to clear for mines >literally faster than whatever the fuck they're doing right now
>>65033303Iirc, similar tactics were used in and before ww1. Very dangerous and there were counter sapper operations happening too
molebiks
>>65033303Because precision airburst munitions are just that good.
>>65033303Why stop there? Why not dig tunnels towards the ukie lines? You'll be completly invisibile!
>>65033303>drones fly right into the trenchesI think this is a great idea, they dig their own graves.
You would make ground based drones that dig the trenches they would be cheaper than a FPV if it dies you can just replace it with another one
>>65033303Drones kill diggers.
Any tactic must be able to achieve an operation level breathrough to be meanigful, defined as the attacking force being able to reach the enemy rear lines and disrupt his fire support assets, namely in this war artillery/drone teams.Slowly trenching towards the enemy lines does not have the required mobility for that.
>>65033303that might've worked for vauban, but it doesn't work in the 21st century
>>65033303Fellow over the top player i see
>>65033323>>65033353they did dig tunnels in WW1, below enemy trenches, to fill these up with a fuckton of explosives and blow it all up. Not a good time for anyone involved
>>65033303the enemy can exploit them easily if they get in. Antipersonnel mines, easier to estimate where to drop missiles, drones
>>65033303Requires more organization than the Russian army has.
