The picture is terrible but you get the idea. Why aren't there any beefier versions of this to sue as a snap caps or dummy round? It would make dry fire practice a lot more entertaining.

Get a gas airsoft gun if you want a toy

I have PCPs and a 10m range in my basement. One is destructive, the other isn't. One is a different weapon, trigger, etc. , the other isn't. If you have nothing useful to say, then just kindly fuck off.

Speer used to make .45 ACP plastic bullets that you fired from a primed case.
They currently make a .38 Special version that functions similarly.

If you cant take serious advice for entertainment get out of here.

No, we don't get the idea. Why would a beefier inert round be more entertaining?

Are you asking why there isn't live ammo for guns that shoot very weak plastic projectiles so more places can be shooting ranges?
It has existed, but didn't really take off. It doesn't recoil like proper ammo, group like proper ammo, or cycle normal autoloaders like normal ammo, but it still makes a mess of powder, lots of noise, and legally counts as discharging a firearm. With the only benefit being that you don't need a tough backstop, it isn't worth the other issues. Might as well either step up to .22lr or down to airsoft, appropriately for whatever you're doing.

Beefier versions of that exist. An English company called Brocock made 'airguns' that worked like that back in the 80's if not earlier.

The Brocock guns use special "cartridges". These are basically a tiny single-use high pressure air tank with a built-in valve. You have to pump up each cartridge with a manual pump, then fit an airgun pellet in the nose. With that done, you can load the "cartridges" into the gun like normal rounds.

You can do basically this with all calibers, if you don't mind them not cycling automatics. Cast your own wax bullets and load them with a primed case.

Wait, those were fucking single use? You couldn't reload those cartridges?

bullet mold picrel.
take some old casings, replace the primer and insert cast rubber bullet. load magazine, pull trigger until it goes click. cycle your weapon for every shot.

I should have said single-shot. You can indeed refill them with air.

That stuff doesn't work in a mold. It takes fucking forever to dry and it shrinks as it does so. You could cast 2-part silicone or urethane though. Or just use earplugs. that's a lot cheaper and a lot less work.
