>>65035274yeah its called BLM land and its a lot further than 3 miles away but if youre up north or down south itll be local recreation parks. up in norcal theres cow mountain one is for just hiking shooting and such and the other for offroad vehicles. The shooting side of things states that youre supposed to use the actual dedicated range space but youll find shell casings and targets in pretty much every little area of the park and the rangers dont really care so long as you arent shooting directly accross or on a road and are shooting into a hill/berm. Beyond that just dont cause a fire.

There’s none of that around here despite the state priding itself on “muh freedom.” You can’t even shoot in most of the national grasslands or forests here. >>65035274It's true, but you have to be at least 20 miles from town. When I lived down in the desert. I used to shoot down in the Mojave out near Barstow. Just pull off I15 and drive about a mile into the desert and you're in open range. Now, I can shoot up to pistol cartridges in my backyard here in the Sierra foothills. It's a 20 minute drive to the National Forest where I can do whatever the fuck I want. (Mine never closes to shooting during the Summer and Fall.) I feel sorry for those assholes in the city, but at the same time, fuck off and stay away.
