Well in that case serious answer: the chinesium stuff has gotten shockingly good in the last 6 years, as good as very high end stuff from 10-15 years earlier. And LPVOs (and other optics) are really personal, some people find they fit well, other would be much happier with fixed mag + dot or irons, or alternatively a 1x (either prism or holo or dot) and flip mag. Or MPVO + 1x for that matter. LPVOs imo can be useful but in a narrower range of uses then is commonly said. Finally, cost in LPVOs makes no difference in fundamentals. More money gets you less chromatic aberration and slightly truer 1x and so on, but no fundamental change in experience, no 5x the eyebox or anything like that. And even the downsides matter way less at the range you use one at. Who cares about a little edge shift at a few hundred yards? If you're shooting 1000 you wouldn't use an LPVO in the first place.So in general ideally you'd spend some time with one first, but if you just want to try an LPVO I'd suggest strongly you start with some solid value deal. Arken/Swampfox/Element Optics/etc, or something mid-range from a few years back but used and at sufficient discount. See how you like it and you can always upgrade if you truly want. But high end lpvos are genuinely a pretty bad value almost all the time. And even for a range toy there's so much other stuff to splurge on with more fun/bux, more exotic and unusual guns, thermals and nvgs and suppressors and so on.
