Former combat cameraman here (25V 55th) and there’s a 50/50 shot the whole thing was staged so this photographer could submit something to MILPHOG and the armorer just didn’t want them fucking up their optics. Doesn’t matter anyway since they decided to let Master Sergeant Lock keep submitting for the Air Force after he retired and the zoomies always get their fucking way at the school house.
