now that my state banned them (today)?
>>
> The bill does not single out Glocks, but it would ban the sale of semiautomatic pistols that use a “cruciform trigger bar,” a component primarily used in Glock pistols and copycat weapons. The cruciform trigger bar is the mechanism that limits the gun to a single round of ammunition per trigger pull, and can be disabled with a switch to make the gun fire multiple rounds with one pull of the trigger.

> “If you currently own one, you can keep it,” Del. Nicole Williams, a Prince George’s County Democrat and a sponsor of the bill, said during debate on the House floor. “No one is taking your gun away from you. After this, if Glock modifies its design, you can go purchase that newly designed gun.”

You have until October until the ban hits on paper, and until Jan 1st 2027 until it'll be legally enforced.

Just go buy your glock.
>>

Fuck this state to hell, seriously.
>>65060091
>Prince George's County Democrat
The one place they should be taking guns away from, every urban yoof is still going to be running a glock with a switch and this won't change a thing.
>>
>>65060078
M&P is flat out better, so is the Walther
>>
Lol damn, this bill has more teeth than commiefornia's.
>>
>>65060091
>No one is taking your gun away from you
Lol
>>
>>65060078
You can still legally print a Glock and buy Glock parts which makes this doubly retarded.
>>
>>65060195
I mean, they're not.

The law is specifically for newly purchased guns.

Unless you think they're taking away your potential FUTURE gun, but that's just a weird way to think about it.

MD is a shithole now. It's still in recent memory that my neighborhood used to surrounded by farmland before it became urban sprawl and infinite housing projects.

gun politics is the democrat version of republicans obsessing over chicks with dicks, doesn't this country have bigger issues than muh glawk 7 ceramic terrorist guns?
>>
>>65060238
At least we're getting more nuclear power.

The 2 existing reactors are getting refurbished and upgraded to run for another 20 years. The current licenses run up in 2034 and 2036.

They're also looking at add ~2000MW of new nuclear using SMRs in the 2030s/40s.
>>
>>65060078
Most semi auto pistols could in theory be converted, and they'll slowly try and ban them one part at a time, until any gun that simply has a trigger is banned.
>>
>>65060433
Their entire argument for this is that it can be done with a 3D printed part worth pennies and takes less than 10 minutes to strip the gun, install it, and put it back together.

They argue that for other pistols it requires CNCs or other precision manufacturing that can't be done simply/easily.

Basically if it takes actual tools and multiple hours of time, then Maryland doesn't really care.

They're not going after every single gun that could ever potentially be turned into a machine gun. They're going after the guns that can reasonably be modified using a 3D printer and a few minutes of effort.

They even specifically call out the recent glock modifications done for California as not a sufficient redesign, as it can be bypassed with household items and less than 10 minutes of time.

The maryland argument legally falls apart the moment you design a handgun that can't be modified simply/easily/without tools. Which is why they're not even trying to ban those guns, since they have no legal argument to ban them.
>>
>>65060449
The thing is 3d printers are effectively illegal in a lot of places now anyway. Like if you bought one, you're on a list, and if you visit the wrong website, prepare to have a SWAT team bust down your door because you're on the bad list

I used to think richard stallman was crazy, now I realize he was just too smart for this world
>>
>>65060091
QRD, too many blacks killing each other with modified Glocks? Cos if that's the case it sounds like Maryland has an N problem, not a G problem.
>>
>>65060479
Considering Baltimore City Police were the primary law enforcement supporter of the bill, yes.
>>
>>65060449
They're going after that now. The they're going to say "actually gun capable of accepting an FRT is a machine gun", then any gun capable of accepting a magazine could potentially be a machine gun. They've tried multiple times to ban pistols in some way or another, niggers illegally modifying them has given them the fig leaf they can use to get before a judge and defend it. Mark my words as soon as the inevitable cases have gone before SCOTUS (in let's be honest probably twenty years) it'll be upheld simply because "illegal machine gun" argument. Bad faith arguments about a design that for almost half a century was fine because some ape figured out how to modify it is bullshit, but politicians don't actually know how to do anything but line their own pockets and ensure their donors (billionaires) are kept happy.
>>
>>65060517
I mean, maybe in 40-50 years, but it's just not going to happen anytime soon.

Especially not in the current political environment, where plenty of liberals still see great value in personal gun ownership.

This isn't one of those situations where in 5 years maryland will be trying to go after EVERY handgun.
>>
>>65060482
They should split Baltimore and NYC off into their own semi-autonomous zones
>>
>>65060238
My grandfather remembers when Morningside was majority-white, imagine that
>>65060282
They won't put in new reactors, every single try for that has fallen through, it's not happening. Wish it would.
>>65060533
Have you ever seen Liberia? Baltimore would look like Liberia within a week.
>>
>>65060564
>They won't put in new reactors, every single try for that has fallen through, it's not happening. Wish it would.
They specifically passed new laws to fast track SMR installs in the state, gave X-energy a big subsidy on a new ~600,000 square foot production facility in Frederick.

NuScale Power is also headquartered in Rockville (another US SMR firm).

Wes Moore was basically telling X-power once they have a viable working SMR they'll look at installing one in Maryland .

And Constellation Energy (who runs the current 2 reactors in Maryland) is a significant investor in the Rolls-Royce SMR program.

So yeah, Maryland is sprinting to get the regulations in place to allow SMRs in the late 2020s or early 2030s.

>well it won't happen now so why worry about it
I grew up in Colorado. I watched how, in the span of just over a decade, gun ownership went from one of the better states to just above the west coast. Every single legislative session for the past five years there have been bills introduced to ban "assault" weapons, any pistol capable of accepting a magazine, requiring 4473s for ammo purchases, all the stupid shit. And yes, the maximalist aims get dialed back a little bit but now it's a state where you get to wait three days extra and firearm owners get to pay an extra tax for exercising their rights. About 14 years. That's how long it took. I can guarantee the faggots packing the legislature in Denver are salivating at the chance to ban anything with a cruciform trigger because of this argument.

This is very much one of those situations. This is financial ruin for a number of companies that produce nothing but gen3 clones, brings about the chance completely lock Glock out of the US civilian market, raises the overall cost for ALL handguns to civilians due to artificial scarcity (ask how the folks in CA like their roster and look at the prices out there) and gets the idea of lawfare against design elements into these people's heads. Every small win they think they can get away with is immediately followed by more and more erosion of the 2A. The end goal is not public safety, it's not crime reduction, it's nothing less than ensuring that only the "right" people have guns and those people are on their payroll. This isn't even hyperbole, the laws, all the legislation introduced, the official transcripts of the legistlative sessions is all public record.

>>65060585
I mean, maryland is ALREADY one of the more restrictive states in the nation, they can't really get much worse and they don't seemingly plan to.

And again, I am a Democrat in Maryland, I own guns, I know many other democrats in the state who also own guns. We're hardly rare.

Yes, Maryland is more restrictive, but it's hardly some hellhole like most of these anons on /k/ claim it is.

This law honestly won't change much in Maryland and changes literally NOTHING for anyone who already owns a glock today.

It would be one thing to hate the republicucks for doing nothing to protect our empire and prosperity but you have sided with the political party which doesn't merely passively allow us to be destroyed by actively advocates it as a virtue.

What exactly does the Democratic party stand for which benefits whites, ie everybody on /k/ and the only actual Americans. The unions were infiltrated years ago and became pro-immigrant which is odd for organizations which wish to increase the value of the union members' labor. They claim to stand for a welfare state, which doesn't benefit whites anyway and exists only by siphoning off white wealth to provide for a perpetual criminal and unemployed class. The illegal immigrants who still receive benefits off the books provide serf labor to the corporations the Democrats claim they don't support. And they fuck with my shit and your shit personally at every opportunity.

You're like a bluedog who hangs on to his affiliation because years ago the Democratic party used to stand for racism in the South.

You are either not white or an idiot, and statistically speaking the former all but ensures the latter.

Yes the correlative relationship is obviously population density and nothing else, oh wait. Whites in the US have the same rates of homicide commission and victimization as whites in Europe back in the 90s. There isn't even a strong correlative relationship between crime and income once race is accounted for, it really is just race.

M&P9 is the new meta. Beats glookie and all competitors in torture tests, can't be limpwristed, comes in all sizes and many calibers, comes with metal frames (aluminum and steel), option for a safety if you want one, metal sights and mags, cheaper. Literally no reason not to get one.

Are you posting from a timeline where guns haven't been polymer strikers for like half a century?
