Previous:>>65001852What are FRTs:Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) are firearm modifications that allow semi-automatic rifles to fire more rapidly by automatically resetting the trigger after each shot, while still requiring a trigger pull for each round. They increase the rate of fire without converting the firearm into a fully automatic weapon.AR-15 is the most ubiquitous platform with the most amount of options. Other platforms have other nuances.See it action:https://youtube.com/@juiceymedia1https://youtube.com/@poorboyarmshttps://youtube.com/@printshootrepeatDistributors:https://pastebin.com/WPdrbYKy (embed)Frequently updated list of platforms that offer FRT/Super Safety support or are currently in development.https://kg2g.github.io/FRTINFO/webpage/FRTINFO.htmlRecent News:- ASDesigns ARC V2 releases soon- Progressive FRT for AUG in development by AemAer - Gen12/.308 ARC lever teased- G36 Cassette FRT accounced by @BSquaredMfg- Hoffman (super safety developer) launches a support site for legal fees against Rarebreed.http://www.givesendgo.com/hoffmantactical
ARC V2 this Friday!
If FRTs are (obviously) not legally considered machine guns, where's the lawsuits to strike down laws that ban them in some states?
>>65061517Quite a bit of the states that inadvertently ban them do so because they had knee jerk bump stock bans of which the language encompasses what a FRT does.Florida has suits
>>65061517there's states that ban flash hiders and bayonet lugs, whats your point?
https://www.instagram.com/p/DW634yNDjtE/after delaying the P90 FRTs a week because the precut foam used to package them was late to arrive, FN Specialties decided just to ship them packaged in plastic bags like a normal company
>>65063597at least they are shipping, a lot of people have received emails
>>65063603Just January 20th orders today apparently. I ordered on the 21st and I haven't gotten a notification yet
>>65063609I ordered the 20th and didnt get an email yet
>>65063552FRTs were determined to be not machine guns by applying the Cargill decision yet it still seems like gun rights groups are still dragging their feet when it comes to suing states that ban them (and bumpstocks) outright
>>65064405so what? State restrictions supercede any less restrictive federal laws. That's how the US works. You never noticed how there's a different version of everything for California?
ARC V2 releases today and khalash bash is today
>>65061000so 90-180 is normal, 45-90 would be if you want supersafe as your default, and 45-180 is what you get when the first 2 are sold out right?
Just saw this https://marstrigger.com/1022-f-r-t looks really tempting. I've already got a ar15 22 setup working just fine, but I a 10/22 would be neat
>>65064711Pretty much. 45 90 is also ideal for MP5s.
>>65064733seems to work wellhttps://youtu.be/Cu9_gjXwtI8The ART version that was released a while ago was supper finicky, this one seems more reliable as it is a trigger, not just a bar
So is there anything special about the Arc that makes it $250? Like does it do anything a regular SS doesn't.
>>65064913no, it only matters if you want a traditional lever/selector
>>65064405Most effort from gun rights groups is to eliminate state AWB's and registration schemes, carry bans and NFA restrictions,.in that order. It took years for brace ban and bump stock ban to get overturned
>>65064733Advanced reset designs is making a selectable FRT for the 10/22 I'd wait and just buy a tx22 in the meantime for some brrrt
>>65065063>Advanced reset designs is making a selectable FRT for the 10/22source? I've been following them for a while and didnt know this
>>65064913V2 is beefer than v1 which is slightly beefier than SS
Looks like I was able to put in my order early? at 2:58 EST
looks like other vendors have them toohttps://muffintoptactical.com/arc-fire-v2
I kind of want an ARC but I dont really *need* one and I already find my SS hard to control
SCAR mentioned. This is cool since you wont be forced to by that fuck ass lower that's always out of stock
>they fell for the v2>they didn't wait for the v3 that has 4 positions
>>65065482I'll probably buy one of those for fun too, I'm not poor
>>65065482>>65065483also I dont think it's really a v4, just another option in the future
>>65061024Sounds cool but my ar has a geiselle trigger and I don’t feel like dicing that up
>>65065068What does this mean?
>>65065498
>>65065514Sounds like I should wait a little longer until frts mature. I’ve got a mk18 with a non ambi selector. Would LOVE one that could work as a 3 position selector and work with a geiselle trigger
>>65065526you can do that today with many FRTs actually. ARC fire for a while can already do that cut a cut and geiselle support was just established with the Atrius and doesnt need a cut
>>65065533https://atrius.dev/ambidextrous-forced-reset-selector-g-lever/Is this the one you’re talking about? I would’ve preferred non ambi but apparently you don’t actually need an ambi lower to have a an ambi safety right? How does the atrius stack up to the arc fire? I read some not so flattering things about the steel and spring use but I’m not the structural engineer here
>>65065617yeah, also there is a non ambi versionARC is better overall, the lever often breaks on the atrius and that will not happen on the ARC implying you have a low shelf lower. There is now a non ambi version of the ARC V2 as well. Also if you dont want to cut your own trigger, they ofter precut triggers, but of course you can cut your own. Atrius requires no cut.
>>65065654The trigger I want is out of stock :(
>>65065666what trigger do you want?
>>65065670I like the SSA-E
>>65065692deeznuts tactical sells them sometimes as well, check it outhttps://deeznutztactical.com/product-category/arproducts/it is currently out of stock as well though but there are options
>>65065699You’ve been a great help, friend. Do you think now is the time to get an frt or is it better to allow more time for innovation?
>>65065752sure no problem>Do you think now is the time to get an frt or is it better to allow more time for innovation?what features are you expecting? Honestly for me I get everything because at one stroke of a pen, this could be illegal in the future and impossible to get anymore
>>65065800You’re making a great argument. https://sonsoflibertygw.com/product/solgw-stripped-lower-rebellious-stripes-rollmark-blem/I have the non blem version of this lower. If I get the ambi version of the arc will the selector markings on the lower safe/semi/auto correspond to safe/semi/arc? On the 0-90-180 right?
>>65065937yes that is correct, just looked up to see their lower pocket. You should be good to go yeah, while you're at it, get a h2/h3 buffer. You generally need that for FRTs
>>65065957Damn, the fomo got me. I got the ambi arc v2 0-90-180 for that solgw lower with dd mk18 upper. I’ll have to wait for a cut geiselle trigger or maybe I’ll just use the one it came with. Thanks based anon
>>65066052sure np anon, hope you have fun!

Progressive Trigger AUG for preorderhttps://www.redstarpalmetto.com/product/aug-p-frt-preorder/7QEI34RPPQ7YXIC6ZYNYQRFJ?cp=true&sa=true&sbp=false&q=false
>>65066189Oh shit thats cool. So i'm guessing it won't require any sort of modification to the stock since it'll technically be 'on' all the time?
>>65066198That was my logic as well, doesnt say on the page specifically though
>>65064913To add to this, is this reliable for a shtf gun or is this just the realm of range toy shit?
>>65066247if you mean the ARC then yeah. One of the weakest parts of an FRT is the fact that if you pull too hard, the gun will malfunction. This is because these devices aren't machine guns. There are however, reports from multiple people that the ARC will work when trigger is held. Reports from people in previous threads and from Micahhttps://youtu.be/OmlZENo1P3s
Drop in B&T FRT for SPC & GHM. APC is later>Announcement AMMJ X Cloak Industries X Partezan Triggers 100% drop in B&T trigger for SPC & GHM… APC to follow. >>65066052there are also precut herehttps://mid-tierdefense.com/products/precut-ssa-e
>>65066539S5's are $1800. If this releases and actually works, I will pick one up. I've read the S5's are a lot closer to real G36's than Tommy Built's clone's that cost three times as much and have great QC.
>>65066577Man now I'm tempted. I don't even have an AUG
>ARHK works in the mag pull housing, the selector doesn't line up with the markings tho.
>>65066536
>>65068035okay for real this time, where can I get one of these belt feds?
>>65061517Let me rephrase your question:"If abortion is not legally considered murder, where are the lawsuits to end abortion bans in all states?"States are allowed to impose their own regulations. California can ban aluminized-mylar balloons because they short out powerlines. Texas can set the age of consent to 17 even though Arkansas allows sex at 16 -- and the Feds have made it illegal to take a girl across state lines to have sex in a lower age-of-consent jurisdiction (the famous "Mann Act").You can bitch that any gun restriction is a violation of the Second Amendment, but states have been blatantly and severely violating the Second Amendment for at least the last 160 years (post-Civil War Jim Crow laws) and the courts have constantly been letting them get away with it until Heller, McDonald, and now Bruen.Anyway, if you want to file a lawsuit against your state for violating your 2A rights over FRTs, please feel free. Nothing stops you except your ability to pay for lawyers to do it.Meanwhile, lawsuits over magazine capacity, "assault weapons", registration requirements, handgun purchasing permits, and so on have been getting stonewalled by appeals courts and the Supreme Court. So good luck on the FRTs, which were ruled "not machineguns" because of the exact wording of "multiple bullets fired per a single trigger pull" but were NOT ruled "FRT ban laws violate the Second Amendment and therefore are unconstitutional".
CMMG/SuperSafety question: for the antibounce weight slider thingies that take metal rod inserts, am I supposed to use steel rods or do I have to use tungsten rods? Wondering if I can just chop up some cheapo M5 (metric 5mm) bolts that I have on hand instead of having to go find a metals supply place that sells 5mm tungsten. Also, do I epoxy the metal rods in place or do they have to be free to slide?
>>65068598for cmmg bolt and barrels, I dont think any of that matters because the bolt locks into the barrel iirc
>>65068605>>65068598I just realized you meant for 22lr. So tungsten is much heavier, that's the reason. If your build do not need that much weight then sure do steel rods. What's important is the amount of weight. The amount varies by suppressor, ammo etc...
>>65068598>>65068615also yeah epoxy them in place, you dont want the rods to fly around your trigger group
>>65068615>>65068619Thanks, I guess I'll try my cheap way first and see how it all works out. IDK even where to shop for 5mm tungsten rods that won't get me v&.
>>65068820probably at mcmaster
>>65068820Anywhere that sells welding supplies.
>>65068035https://x.com/s3igu2/status/2041122897465421948
>>65068475That's the neat thingYou don't!Most HK21's and 23's on GB and the like are either MG's or sear hosts north of 18kYou get your hands on a parts kit and commission one of ~4 builders to do it for you and it's going to be approaching $10k for the kit and the work combined but at least you can spread out the pain. There are US parts manufacturers-particularly but not limited to the feed tray and parts.PTR has the Portugese HK21 tooling... someone should ask them nicely to make some
>>65067985S5 has a deal with HKparts rn where it's able to get lowers and furniture/accessories cheap - HK will be getting a sizable cut of their SG-36C'sThey're going to be 3d printing the lowers soon as well
>>65070244well damn
>>65068575>Nothing stops you except your ability to pay for lawyers to do it.And that you have to have sufferered damages as a result of the law, meaning you need to have been arrested
I can not believe there were no AK announcements at khalash bash. I am beyond disappointed. Why the fuck was atrius even there then?
>>65068873All the welding rods I looked up (before I posted the breadfrog post) were either 3/16" or 1/8". The holes in these debouncing sliders are 5mm. 3/16 is small enough to fit but wastes something like 14% of the space.>>65068828Yeah, that'll get me v&.
>>65072771Genuine question: why are tungsten rods watchlist worthy?
>>65071201It's a small price to pay compared to a M249S or a OOW M240/MAG, if you snagged a cheap Portugese parts kit when the getting was good you'd be ~7kWe have feed tray, barrel, parts and reciever makers here in the US, which means we have the potential to pump out HK23 conversions - currently they're ~$5k+. It will be the most economical belt fed by far, and likely the best adapted to FRT's as it is natively closed bolt by design - currently all the converted prototype M249S, MG42/MG3, and M240/MAG run FRT's at very slow RoF's becaus lol closed bolt conversion tom an open bolt gun.TLDR Theres a good chance PTR will cave and make them
>>65073372Hope you're right, would be pretty sick
Anyone got a QRD on which suppressors to use with an FRT (or what are the important factors to consider when doing further research on my own) on a bog-standard 16" AR-15? I already have the H3 buffer and a heavier buffer spring to swap in if necessary.
>>65073783I ran two, technically 3 and they ran fine. I have a CAT WB which is flow through which runs great and a OCL OCM5 high back pressure can that also ran great. I upgraded the OCM5 to a OCM6 which is flow through and it still runs. I would think as long as your upper is well gassed, you should be good to go.
>>65073783Suppressors generally are bad with FRTs and full auto fire. They raise the rate of fire (bad), make the gun get exponentially dirtier (bad) and make the gun get hotter (bad). I don't know why people insist on sticking suppressors on everything but I guess they're just like the funko pops of guns these days. But yeah ideally it'd be something with the highest volume and lowest backpressure possible and have a high mass to help mitigate some of the extreme heat that's going to build up. A good warranty is also a good idea along with being full auto rated
>>65073783you want low back pressure so you don't gas yourself
>>65071277>meaning you need to have been arrestedFunny, none of the plaintiffs in this case had been arrested:https://www.zerohedge.com/political/federal-court-strikes-down-158-year-old-home-distilling-banYet they still succeeded at both the district court and the Fifth Circuit.
>>65073160Several states are tracking purchases of anything 3DPG-related. They investigate people for buying any sort of gun parts online. Mine is one of them.
>>65068475You buy a kit and know the guy who welds them onto new production receiver blanks and pay a lot and wait a long time. If you really want one just buy a kit and sit on itt. knower
>>65074552Wow that's fucked
>>65074540they were directly threatened with fines or arrest that constitutes damages
>>65073787Nta, but I use a suppressor with my MP5 FRT because I don't want people calling the ATF because they heard a "machine gun" from my property.
>>65075009Now they report hearing an assassin machine gun
>>65075107Extremely unlikely. With subsonics, the gun is nonexistent beyond 100 yards.
>>65074552Tungsten rods aren't gun parts though.
>>65075318but what if they were bullet parts?
>>65066258You just need enough mass to overcome your finger, so you make sure you have enough gas (which collects the kinetic energy) to be enough to make the buffer send home hard. Of which you up the weight of the buffer to delay the the bolt carrier speed enough so you dont sheer lugs during unlock. So H2 for normal people, H3 for gorillas and incel gooners. Then you stiffen the spring enough so the buffer doesn't slam into the back of the receiver extension and you do all this tuning on your WEAKEST CHAMBER PRESSURE AMMO.Now its reliable./endthread

>>65075538Yeah, but I paid $500 for my JLD91.

I just had a thought. If FRTs are legal, does that mean shoelaces are legal now too?

I finally got the mp5 bug and I’m looking into a good clone as well as an frt to go along with it. My main question is are there any manufacturers out there who make one that doesn’t require a completely different lower? Hope you guys are having fun with yours
>>65082345check out the github link for more information but there is a drop in FRT trigger that uses the same lower releasing in about 2 months by ASDesigns

>>65082309yeah thats the one i was talking about but how do i make it work with a bullpup trigger mechanism
>>65082470Depends on how that bullpup conversion works. Is there a linkage on the front trigger that interacts with a rear Ar15 FCG and safety? If not then it's not going to be possible. I have a a3 industries triad kit that has all that and was able to get it to work with an arc trigger in the back.

My rifle has a geissele SSA EX and the arc says it's compatible with it. Does that mean I can just put the arc in or do I need to do this "cut", also wtf is the cut? It seems people avoid it and I'm guessing it's because they love their dogs.
>>65089922you need it cut yes, and the lever blocker
>>65089922adding on to this, there are places that sell precut giessele triggers including asdesigns themselves. If you do not want a cut trigger at all, atrius now sells a kit that makes it work for their selector, but im my opinion the ARC is better
>>65089942>>65089945Alright I just bought one off deez nuts that's the same model but precut. I'll just throw the uncut one in my long AR.
>>65090006yep that works, dnt does good stuff, got a trigger from them as well
Speaking of triggers, what's the actual difference between a generic milspec $10 trigger and one of these $250 geissele triggers? Am I going to go HOLY SHIT THAT IS SO WORTH $250 if I try one?
>>65086044God your insistence on this over tard gripping the trigger is getting insufferable
>>65090334Milspec>breaks at ~8lbs, can be brought down with polishing and spring kit fiddling, not an exact science>single-stage with long pull, has a good bit of creep and the break can sometimes be inconsistent on where it happens in the pull itselfGeissele>breaks at 3-4lbs (depending on which you buy)>simple 2-stage, short 1st and very short 2nd, no creep, breaks at the same point in pull every timeYMMV of course, every trigger is slightly different from another of the same pattern, manufacturing tolerance et al. This is my experience.I'd normally say "just buy a Larue" but then you're locked out of most FRTs. Check Primary Arms when the annual Geissele blem sale happens (usually July), I bought 2 SSA-Es last year for $120 each, both work well with ARC and SS (that's all I've tried), it's nearly always a cosmetic defect like finish discoloration or a scratch.
>>65089686It does with the platform you are buying it for, they did say however that either 5.56 or 7.62 won't come with them at first due to ejector availability/pricing ie you gotta pull it off your semi pack
>>65089667>>65089672They confirmed it on ARFCOM. Tldr the PTR-32 is semi-proprietary because there were scant few HK-32's made. There are some big known issues running a F/A sear/pack with the PTR-32, particularly with bolt bounce and FTF past the first round on AUTO and a good amount of tinkering is par for the course to get it to function even barely.I don't blame them in the slightest for not supporting it, but if you have a PTR-32 they are also not guaranteeing it wont work with tinkering, so I'm sure some absolute malady will figure it out.HK21/g3/hk33 compatibility is much more important anyway
>>65091724*madlad lol
>>65090334Redditors think they NEED a match 2stage for blasting trash. I think you should get just a schmidt and be happy. At least it's better than milspec. IDK how frt would even work with 2 stage triggers. >t. Larue enjoyer
>>65091815they just work, work just fine in fact.
>>65091854Does it reset on 1st or 2nd stage? I don't trust mouth-breathers not to rattle off half a mag accidentally cause they were were on a 1.5lb wall. I'm good with milspec for forced reset/full auto.Pic rel, another trigger snob(lmao) so you don't think I'm calling out only G$ fags.
>>65092749when you shoot with it, you dont feel any stages, it feels like a normal trigger on SS/ARCLarue doesnt work

Is there a wiki or video series or something? >>65095962>Are FRTs legal in your country? Why does this matter. Are you implying it shouldn't exist or shouldn't get made if I'm in a different country? Frt's kill gun control efforts worldwide, it's wonderful. I hope decent easy to diy options for all semi autos become ubiquitous.
>>65095972>Where to learn about this processEnrolling in something like a mechanical engineering associate's/bachelor's degree or equivalent program would be more helpful to you. The way you asked this indicates that you're lacking in the foundational aspects of mechanical design, there isn't going to be "a wiki or video series" telling you how to make an FRT, especially for every single different firearm action that exists.>Why does this matterIf FRTs are illegal in your country, full auto is also very likely illegal, so you'd get a comparable punishment, meaning why not just go full auto if you're dead set on breaking the law? Hypothetically, of course, I'd never suggest breaking the law.FRTs are a result of American firearms law, not an intentional effort to "kill gun control efforts worldwide." Same with 3d printing guns. Yes there are non-Americans that do, but they're so rare comparatively they're negligible in the discussion. Same thing with FRTs.

>>65061000Checked. Should we (yes >we) change how we refer to this tech as simply "forced reset"? The Hoffman super safety is definitely goated, but we're beginning to see other methods of forced reset beyond the trigger or the safety. I don't recall which one, but I've also seen the ejector being used to force the reset. I think "forced reset" ultimately encapsulates this functionality best and it even has the added benefit of the abbreviation, "FR", being analogous to "FA" with full auto. It also makes way more sense at face value. "It forces the reset of the trigger, enabling a rate of fire like full auto." That's way easier than explaining how the safety mechanism forces trigger reset. We could update the general to "FRG" (rich boomers could even set up a full auto general, called "FAG"). Thoughts?t. anon who wrote the current OP that we've been using for a while
>>65097316A lot of HKs have 4 positions, with the third position corresponding to either 2 or 3-round burst fire.

>>65097455every design forces the trigger forward, that's why it's legal. Regardless of what is forcing the reset, it's the same function.
>>65096258>videos comparing different mechanismsYou won't find comparisons, but you'll find videos of people showing how theirs function with cutaway receivers (in the case of ARs at least). You can cross-reference yourself. YMMV on this, it's heavily dependent on the fire control group's design how a forced reset system would work in it.>There's something intriguing about a simple drop in part that can be easily reversed without permanently altering anything. Even more cool factor if it can be DIY'd with a few scraps and a file or perhaps even printed.Drop-in Auto Sears exist, you're reinventing the wheel. Assuming we're still doing this "not in America" thing, the distinction between FR and FA is (most likely) legally dubious to begin with.

>>65097872Anybody who's ever seen or used a forced reset gun knows full well that it walks like a duck and talks like a duck (but is technically not a duck due to some scientific differences under its feathers). >>65102000>>65102010more info>This kit would work on standard milled and akm platform aks. I keep getting ask about the Zastava and im about to acquired one here in a week or so to see if its compatible but that doesn’t mean it wont work cause if i have to make a model dedicated to the zastavas that wont be an issue. On the trigger compatibility so far fime is the go to trigger the enhance and regular work great also any trigger that is similar to the fime would work as-well as long as it has the bushing since the parts that go in the trigger are cut to that diameter. alg trigger would be next i should have an answer here in a week or so, the only problem is the reset is too short and the disconnector has to hold the hammer down while its being force reset. On the price im trying to keep it low as much as i can so it be around 300-350 but for sure it wont surpass the 350. This is not a drop in kit some fitting would be required due to not all safety selector are the same and not all triggers sit the same. I seen some triggers sit lower or higher depending on the ak and trigger. I have narrowed it down to 3-4 steps on where to file down so it can be compatible to different aks , safety selector and triggers.if everything goes well we should be taking preorders in the beginning of may. and no we dont ship to any banned states so know your local laws plus on the website we would have where we can and can not ship too. Everything in this kit would be heat treated and then tempered to desired Rockwell, no wires or rod are being used every thing in this kit is being milled. Its beefier more durable more robust as just what you expect to be in an ak. If you havent done so pls subscribe to get notified when to preorder. Thank you for your patience comrades.
