seeking some advice on whether i should get two shotguns, or one and get two barrels. i just got my hunting license and will go with a buddy for grouse and duck sometime in the next year, but i also want to get back into skeet. i also want to have a shotgun to serve as a a trash blaster to get friends interested, and for wilderness defense as i go into nowhereville a couple times a year for 3-7 days at a time. i want to spend <$2k, so this limits what i can get for semis unless i go second hand. for the two-barrel route, i think a mossberg 500 or remington 870 are my only obvious options. i think a nova 3 would be nice, but i'm having a hard time finding their barrels in stock and for a price that's significantly less than a whole separate gun. definitely have preference for wood furniture, but it's not a dealbreaker. that said, if i went with a 500 i'd probably get the retrograde to get the nicer wood stock. i don't know how easy it'd be to get other models not in current production used, then also finding a second barrel to go with them.if i get two guns there's more options, but i don't know if it's better to split the money and go heavier on the trash blaster and go budget on the hunting gun (i'd probably shoot skeet once a month or less and hunt 1-3x a year), or what. thanks if you read all this.
