>iran captured a IR jammer found on ac130 to dazzle IR missilesWhat can they do with it?
Not much, even if they manage to reverse-engineer it they don't have the technology or knowhow to reproduce it at any quality higher than their chink import IR dazzlers.
>>65070502nothingit has no power supplythey can't even manufacture shit the soviets could in the 1960sand the soviets couldn't even make domes in the 80s
No idea but it’s being shipped to Beijing as we speak for reverse engineering
>>65070504>>65070505Cant they figure out what it uses to dazzle their missiless and proof them against it?
>>65070514Muslims are not meritocratic.
>>65070502>AC-130I'm not aware of either side claiming an AC-130 being shot down. You sure this isn't from the damaged MC-130Js the US destroyed?
>>65070502How many planes have this? Some random mentioned US fighter jets don't have IR dazzlers but I don't believe the modern US military doesn't have something like mounted even in JLTV CROWS
>>65070502Not much. More of a curio than anything useful.>>65070514Dazzlers are well understood, Iranians have their own on their T90 clones. Dazzlers being an effective countermeasure are why nobody in the west really uses SACLOS anymore (except the javelin, which is top attack and not affected); so its not like anything useful will be gained by pulling a newer one apart.
>>65070539Its found on large planes like the ac130.Probaly from one of the rescues
>>65070502slap it
>>65070542>javelin>SACLOSYou what nigger
>>65070502Put it in a museum and claim it is AYYYYY tech
>>65070645>anon discovers there are multiple Javshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javelin_(surface-to-air_missile)
>>65070502If it outputs a single wavelength they could put lens filters on their IRSTs to block it.It is has multiple wavelengths it becomes hard to filter them all without also blocking a lot of incoming IR you want to see.
>>65070506>reserve engineering a destroyed 2009 techSorry chink but we are all know how shit your junk is
>>65070673I didn't know the brits changed the name, dam
>>65070674couldn't you just switch to dazzler seeking?I don't think you could deploy decoy dazzlers like flares, at least not this war.But seems like it could be easy to program IR seeker to "expected IR...OR dazzler".
>>65070794The problem is dazzlers are so intense they burn out the sensor, you would need a tinted lens to weaken the beam to the point the sensor lives but then it'll be blind to weaker sources like planes.IF they can just filter one wavelength to defeat them that is the best option because real targets put out a bunch of different wavelengths.
