Over the last decade, many have acknowledged the emergence of Turkey as a global military power equalling Russia, China, the UK and France and almost rivalling the US, with a robust military industrial complex, expeditionary presence in and alliances across North and East Africa, the Caucasus, Middle East, Central and Southeast Asia. What is less examined, is how Greece is now trying to imitate this reach, as demonstrated by its powerful and independent role in the present war. This is despite Greece, like Turkey, not being in any fiscal condition to be extending such a presence
I actually respect Turkey's military but holy shit is this delusional.

>>65076294>Israel decided it's their new great enemy.Turkey calling article 5 on Israel would be hilarious.
>>65076303Not gonna happen, they will just bicker over the failed state areas in Lebanon and Syria.Erdogan wants them for his neo ottoman fantasies, Bibi wants them for his great yisrael fantasies. Both are delusional, the area does require a serious border re-adjustment to unfuck the situation, or the eternal civil war will just go on.

>>65076338We will just make nukes. Iran should have done it when they have chance.
>>65076176Greece-Cyprus-Israel have been forming an alliance against Turkey-Qatar-Tunisia.
>>65076323>Not gonna happenOf course not and not just because nothing ever happens.A lot of nothing has been happening lately but that doesn't apply here.>they will just bicker over the failed state areas in Lebanon and Syria.>Erdogan wants them for his neo ottoman fantasies, Bibi wants them for his great yisrael fantasies. You can add "stay out of jail by maintaining a forever-war and/or a permanent state of emergency" to Bibi's reasons too, you're not wrong about the neo-ottoman/greater-israel motives though.>>65076324>which countries have the most foreign military bases? There's a *lot* of countries that have at least one military base in the US for the purposes of housing their officers/pilots/SOF that undergo training by the US.It sometimes skews the numbers a little but I think they're not mentioned in that list. The Gulf states hire other countries militaries as mercenaries under the guise of a foreign base and a defence cooperation agreement. That accounts for Bangladesh and a few others.Djibouti is more or less an airbnb for military forces, so lots of countries get a base there because they don't have much else to sell except basing rights in a strategic location and their ports and foreign ports/bases make up half their economy.>>65076338>That’s the rumour for the real reason the US want’s out of NATO is so Israel can attack Turkey.Sounds like a qanon-tier schizo theory to me. Israel v Turkye in a war on either home soil would be far too close to a peer war for either of them to enjoy and I'm not sure that Turkye might have not have the edge. Israel is higher tech, Turkye isn't *that* far behind in tech and has significant mass and innumerable NATO allies in the event of the war reaching home soil and not obviously being started by them.

>>65076377>the genes change but the casus belli stay the sameIt's all geopolitics, individual nations and peoples are as interchangeable as individual people themselves.
>>65076303Deus vult!
>>65076176>equalling Russia, China, the UK and France and almost rivalling the USCurrent year Russia maybe. Turkey have build a decent arms industry but you are delusional. As for Greece a lot of their EU aid was conditioned on it being spent on EU military equipment basically subsidizing the industry with extra steps while letting Greece cut the military procurement budget. They aren't a major power but they aren't nothing.

>>65076372>Sounds like a qanon-tier schizo theory to me.Maybe so, but Israeli politicians have been scapegoating Turkey as the new biggest threat in the region. Naftali Bennet, a leading opposition figure, pointed to them as the greatest threat to Israel in the region. Given they back the Syrian government and used them as a proxy in the civil war, the Israelis can't exploit Syria like they would have if Syria was unsupported by them, meaning they can't pursue their security ambitions in Syria. That's what I've gleaned to date based on the information available. The Israelis have exploited ethnic minorities to justify their campaign in Southern Syria, but they can't escalate too far because the Turks will eventually intervene, and the Israelis won't be able to strike them directly without triggering a wider conflict. It's pretty clear they have ambitions to effectively occupy land in every surrounding country not directly in the US alliance network, but if they're talking about Turkey that means they're preparing to influence the US to give them freedom to make that war happen, because they're the only effective power that can really counter them in the air and on land. Whether that happens or not is entirely up in the air. Imho that's the gist of it - it's not guaranteed such a war will happen, its all talk now, but politicians in Israel have shown that they will do what they say when it comes to warfare and violence.
