I need your thoughts/advice/concerns anons...So I bought a S&W FPC Carbine [9MM] as my first "rifle", but I'm now considering getting a "proper" 5.56NATO rifle...Honestly, should I just stick with my current rifle, and invest more money into training, or is making the jump to 5.56NATO justified?
I bought it for Self-Defense, but I also wanted a firearm that would be good for SHTF, and I'm now tempted in buying/building a more "WAR-Ready" rifle if shit were to ever hit the fan.

Stop spending money on more guns you don't need anon. Most of /k/ doesn't even shoot because they spent all their money on guns.

>I bought a S&W FPC Carbine [9MM] as my first "rifle"
Big mistake, a PCC is just a handgun that is easy to shoot and suppress; it may be good enough for home defense but it still has handgun performance.
>should I just stick with my current rifle
No. One should always have a real rifle. PCCs are great but niche.
>invest more money into training
Always yes.
>is making the jump to 5.56NATO justified?
Honestly, you sound like you're struggling financially; keep in mind you don't have to buy it all at once. Train with what you have and get the upgrade later.
>>
>>65082146
Git gud with the FPC and get the rifle later. There are worse things than having a carbine that shares ammo & magazines with your handgun.
>>
>>65082146
Yeah, you fucked up bro. If you can't afford a real rifle right now then it's not the end of the world but you really should upgrade when you can.
>>
you arent gonna 'train', you are just going to stand at the range and shoot a target 200 times then leave.
>>
>>65082146
FPC is a good carbine for plastic, but it's still a PCC. It'll do for SHTF if your plan is to hunker down at home and fend off the occasional break-in or if you're planning to backpack deep innawoods.
But >>65082222 is right if you're planning on anything like serious combat. You'd be a significant disadvantage against a proper rifle (even intermediates running 5.56, lol). Your competition will have longer range, more power per shot, better armor penetration, and more rounds per magazine.
Go ahead and use it train for basic proficiency, get an AR-15 or better when you can. Once you've secured that consider getting a 22LR of similar style so you can practice 10x as much.

Use the gun you have to acquire all the guns you want.
Remember the one who shoots first wins. The mistake that nearly all criminals make is thinking a gun is a magic wand that forces people to do what you want if you wave it around. If you instead just shoot your target they can't resist since they're dead.

NTA. Wouldn't (((THEY))) want the goys to spend more money rather than less?
>>
>>65084644
They fear being shot for being chomos.
>>
>>65082146
nah dude its a good purchase. now just get a M&P 2.0 pistol that is mag compatible and buy 30 round mags and just enjoy a nice 9mm rifle/pistol mag compatible set up.
also buy an ar15 and just keep it as the safe queen and just shoot if after you are done fucking around with the FPC
i mean thats my thought process and what i did. then you can also throw 30 round mags in your pistol so you can be a nigger

Isn't that pretty similar to what "gun guys" think? It seems to me an overwhelming majority of gun guys think criminals all run around with a hamburglar outfit and everyone else is dressed like 1950s trad wives. And the criminals growl things like MISSED ME PIG and EAT LEAD COPPER like in Lethal Enforcers, and the good civilians say "help me" and "don't shoot" in a whimpering, feminine voice.

If someone steals your life savings it's 99.99% likely to be your accountant or some hacker from belarus or your wife divorce raping you. And if someone rapes your female loved ones it's going to be their best friend or a trusted relative or her boss and she'll be ambivalent about reporting it because it can't be undone and she doesn't want to deal with all the police interrogations and court depositions and such, let alone having to deal with work after that, or whatever the case may be.

Don't get me wrong I fully support people arming themselves and taking precautions against a violent stranger attacking them, preferably while making ninja sounds and coming at you one at a time so you can pick them off. Just like, don't expect real life crimes to look like that, because they pretty much don't, ever.

Despite the fact that (((THEY))) love arguing with each other. (((THEIR))) communities are really tight-knit and armed to the teeth. In any WROL (without rule of law) situation, (((THEY'D))) be the ones shooting others, not the ones getting attacked.

Dont fuck up and buy a Glock. Get the 2.0 and promag 32 round magazines that would be compatible for a rifle/pistol SHTF kit.
both guns can use each others magazines. both guns run off 9mm.
its literally PERFECT.

>a "proper" 5.56NATO rifle
For a while I considered getting a 9mm PCC, heck even an "AR9" of some sort but later my experience as a gun owner (and reloader) matured the concept to always go "big" first and scale down later.
"big" means also the real desired gun you want in stead of the compromise, of course all accounting the other factors (budget, range and time availability, etc)
i.e. get 9mm pistol first and then a .22LR later for better shooting economy. Get an AR15 first and a .22LR rifle for economy.
If you already have buyer's regret, I can advice to shoot your rifle and take good care of it so you can sell it for whatever fits your "wants" best. Also try to shoot someone else's / rental gun to get a feel of it.

Good for him.

>>65085104
I don't understand, do you think firefights are a one-way street? Just because ((THEY)) hole up with weapons and shoot others doesn't make ((THEIR)) communities immune to cheap explosives or ((THEIR) flesh immune to bullets as they scramble to flee from or put out fires.
Nobody can ever be safe.

What the fuck does not being able to undo a rape have to do with disappearing a rapist? Would you seriously have trouble dealing with a coworker or "friend" because you used to share a laugh with them before finding out they needed to go?
>>
>>65086161
>would you seriously have qualms about executing someone you know?
Well when you put it that way, it's no biggie. I am very tough.
>>
>>65086217
>someone you know
That's where you were wrong, bucko, unless you knowingly befriend rapists. The person you thought you knew and liked was a fraud, a mask used by a predator to manipulate you.
Feeling anything about taking them out is like being unable to turn off your AI "girlfriend" because you really had something special with her for 9.95 a month.
Toughness doesn't enter into it, it's more a question of whether you're stupid enough to distinguish reality from delusion.
>>
>>65086233
I can tell from your words that you too are a very tough guy. Hoo-uh! Grrrrrrrrr!
>>
What is the retarded concern trolling going on this thread? We get a smarter jeet than usual?
>>
>>65086273
Just a gayer one.
>>
>>65085104
Anon, ffs, you are trying to make the point that (((THEY))) don't want us to be armed but (((THEY))) are the ones selling us shit. Have you not realized that the market is full of Tavors, Jerichos, Israeli Desert Eagles, Galils, Uzis, BUL Arms 1911s, etc. Don't be retarded.
>>
>>65085999
sorry you must have the wrong number. no one over here gives a fuck.
>>
>>65086897
NTA, and I'm happy to laugh at other people's misfortune, but promag is famous for their magazines shitting the bed early and often.
It's like a hazing ritual for nogunz and poors.
>>
>>65086368
That would be a good point if any of those weapons didnt suck.
Sounds like a trap
>>

If you are building out your collection and need practical guns first, skip the PCC and get it later. They are pure range toys.

The most important gun you'll own is a good handgun, ideally a blend of concealability while being easy enough to shoot and have good accuracy. Bonus points for being 9mm and having good magazine capacity.
This is because you can conceal it. You can get a CC permit and also use it for HD if you have nothing else. If SHTF being able to move with a concealed firearm is way more valuable than the superior performance of a long arm.

For your long gun since concealment is going out of the window range, accuracy and performance matters more. A PCC is easy to shoot and shares ammo/mags with your handgun sure, but it is neither concealable nor anywhere near the capabilities of a rifle.
>So what is a PCC good for?
Basically only range shooting. You can shoot at indoor ranges that don't allow rifle calibers or just save on ammunition cost, but beyond that it's neither fish nor fowl. You can fold it, but it's nowhere near as small as a pistol and it must be unfolded before shooting. Useless for CC. You have more range and performance than a handgun, but not nearly as much as an AR.

Thank you for your input, nogunz. Now lets move on.
