WHAT is the most saltwater resistant handgun? What about revolver? Which ammo?
>>
>>65082329
HK P11
>>
>>65082329
The only gun of mine that got dunked in the ocean was my USP and that held up just fine, no rust spots or anything and I was out in the coastal air on the shoreline for another 3 days with no cleaning.

>HK chads
Based. I'd be kinda scared to bring such an expensive firearm on the ocean due to the irrational fear of it ending up in Davy Jones locker, but good to hear that it's saltwater resistant. Actually, I'm just coping because I'm kinda too poor and uncultured to own an HK

I think my .22LR handgun issue is solved permanently
I also have a Ruger Wrangler and Mark III 22/45 but these two in particular are pretty much the pinnacle of .22LR handgunnery
>>
>>65082404
It means with shitbulls that you really need to make sure with 1 shot, or else it will tear your cat into pieces, and you may have to mercy-kill the cat yourself because you can't stand the suffering. Also of course it can tear your balls off, I hear that's what happened to Px4 anon

The P11 is H&K's special operations underwater dartgun. It has to be saltwater resistant because it's literally intended to be fired underwater repeatedly.

>HK P11
>The unit must be returned to HK for reloading once all five rounds are fired.
Fuck that.
>>
>>65082550
The TX22 Toro has been quite the pleasant surprise for how cheap it is but also being pretty innovative for a .22LR pistol.
I mean anon, most fucking .22 guns are 10 round capacity guns
>>
>>65082329
I've heard good things about glocks. As far as revolvers go, a stainless with grease stuffed into every crevice internally should do fine.
>>
>>65082446
You prefer to drown cats though.

Sub 200 lcp max if people need a cheap summer carry.
>>
If that guy who hates Sig in the last thread is still here, here are my recommendations:

Small pistol: Get a S&W Shield Plus. I think that's still /hg/-approved as one of the best micro 9s. You can get them super cheap and they're pretty great

Range toy/home defense: This comes down to preference. Pick any DA/SA gun that you think looks cool. Personally, I recommend the m9a4. You can slap a light, suppressor and dot on it easily and have a fantastic home defense gun
>>
>>65082430
>pretty much the pinnacle of .22LR handgunnery
Not even on the same planet as the pinnacle. They're great guns, but they're still a ways behind even sporting pistols like the Model 41 and CSP, let alone competitive match pistols. Love the mkiv hunter btw, got mine in blue.

My screws were a few thousandths too long but otherwise it's one of the better systems. This is something you should be aware of regardless of the plate design, pic related, one of the optic's screws was also minutely too long. If gorillas are just gronking down screws without heed that's a skill issue.

That said my 2 plates are extremely well made, they are very smoothly finished, crisply machined and click together like Legos, incredible tight fit before screws go in. Can't say the same for other guns' plates

Found the missing cartridge from the other day! Initially thought the cat had pawed it across the floor and that I would have to flip the couch but the thing never actually fell from the armrest thankfully. From now on, a separate magazine will be reserved for loading / clearing the chamber. One of my three Glock 17-rounders should suffice as the role of EDC is now fulfilled by these Mec-Gar 18-rounders which have never malfunctioned at the range since their purchase. Feels good having all 50 of my precious Buscadero Ticondas accounted for

That's pretty funny to have named it after Barney Fife, the fictional deputy who's allowed a single round at most with his otherwise unloaded service revolver due to a history of negligent discharges. I prefer to capture the slide before loading the chamber gently instead of "sling shotting" it or using the slide release– with defense ammunition anyway. I'd like to think that this preserves the overall length of the cartridge

I don't care about having a large collection before people jump down my throat and I really try to objectively look at the firearms I buy and them having a meaningful purpose other than the sake of owning it. I shot the hell out of my 20X too that day, but I liked the charter a bit more. Only having one mag made shooting the Beretta kinda tedious. I have to always remember to bring my Victorinox to pick out the stuck cases when I shoot my 20X. There is always a few that I have to pick out i probably just need to clean it DESU. The magazine started to pop out too near the end of the session, especially with the Federal Punch. I shot the charter so much that it got hard to hold the cylinder because it was hot. Haha!
Once I file down the sight to fix the elevation, should I put something on it to protect the metal?
>>
>>65084277
Haven't cleaned it yet. I'm really inpressed with Charter. I think I am going to get a Bulldog at some point too. Should I get 45 Colt or 44 Special? Is there any reason to pick one over the other if I have no other 45s or 44s? I'm leaning towards 45 because I would think that most 44 caliber bullets are made to work at 44 mag velocities since that is the most common 44 caliber cartridge, but 45 has plenty of bullet designs that have low velocity in mind since 45 ACP is the most common 45 and it is pretty slow.

90% of optic fasteners are Torx T10 size

There are also SAE hex and metric hex which will come up frequently. You won't need more than ~15 bits total, but because of the way bits are packaged you'll probably end up with a few more in larger sizes which you can use for other things you work on in a man's life

Wera, Wiha, Chapman, Bondhus, Felo are brands you should stick to for bits and L-wrenches. Don't buy chinese crap, these are lifetime tools and they cost so little there's no reason to skimp. High quality drivers will save you so many headaches in the future, they are one of the best quality of life improvements your garage could possibly offer and they're so cheap compared to even a single high quality box end wrench or Knipex pliers

You can't use a torque wrench with L-wrenches, you need bits to fit in eem

To be comprehensive, you'll need (in descending order of usefulness)
-SAE hex bits
-Torx bits
-SAE hex L-wrenches
-Metric hex bits
-Long-shank SAE hex bits
-Long-shank Torx bits
-Metric hex L-wrenches
-Long-shank metric hex bits

Or forego the L-wrenches and use a nice handle for the bits. But at some point you will run into clearance issues (pic related, can't fit my handle in there) and will require long-shank cabinetmaker's bits or L-wrenches to reach into narrow or obstructed holes. For the long shank stuff, Wiha's webzone does occasional seasonal sales so I wait for those and buy single special purpose bits at half price to fill gaps, instead of over spending on big expensive specialty bit sets I won't use most of

Anyway they will all be useful eventually but just build as you go. Fill your gaps as need develops and upgrade your existing stuff later

What an insane thing to say. If anything low velocity ammo is for carbines as they are much less sensitive to slow burning powder than pistols, and Mini Mag is not target ammo

>>65084792
It's fine for pistol

>>65084793
Try stuff yourself, can't rely on internet anecdotes. You can probably find something much cheaper that works. Some guns'll tolerate just about anything, some are very finicky. It's not consistent across a product like that

Im not entirely sure which year it is. I do know its a model after they removed the key lock. Which is kinda vague. I know some earlier models had a key lock on the serial side. So its gotta be at least new to 15 or more years old. Guy said he shot a frw hundred times. I also got a box of Aguila regular target but was gonna wait or jungle load. Also downlaoded the p22 Bible to my pc ajd will read. Its like 90 pages or so. Seems very in depth will read . Any ammo recs? Was thinking of looking into winchester wild cat
>>
>>65084792
Federal value pack is good or even Remington Golden Bullet, something cheap to be honest, it's a pistol, you are going to plink with it.
>>65084793
>>65084806
CCI is great A tier ammo, but for the use intended it's overkill, any high velocity round will cycle.
>>
>>65084808
p22s a disposable finicky gun that will snap the slide in half if you use it enough. you dont want to be the owner when it decides to do break. its used so you have no fucking clue what round count it is and how close it is to snapping. as not the original owner warranty whats that?
if you have your fun then sell it so it breaks on not you. you had fun and did good/evil.

>>
>>65084819
Not really, every gun is different. Just try a bunch of stuff, lower velocity is more pleasant if it works in your specific gun. Lower end Winchester doesn't play nice in my guns so I avoid it but if it works use it, the cheaper the better

Also this is the old model of P22 with the stepped slide. If yours looks like mine, good. If it looks like this, probly best to avoid spicy ammo like Mini Mags and Wildcat

>>65084828

I think it is transferable but I feel you its cheap for a reason. I saw a guy on YouTube that had two of them and one had a cracked slide. I got all the paper work. So I thibk i could get it checked out cleaned and oiled it earlier. I totally get what youre saying its a cheapo 22 . Guy claimed he shot it a couple hundred times. Didnt get into specifics.
>>
>>65084836
Mine does not have that slide. Its just serrated and no key lock either.

All the guns are actually named after different types of orgasms. The metaphor is that the penis is a gun, and your cum is the bullet. >>65085770
Kind of sort of. It's first run from g80. They're using single piece steel receivers. Lot more work than drilling out and dremeling a polymer frame. If you have basic hand tools and can be patient, will be fine. It's $130 for the 80% receiver, $100 for reusable jig, and $50 for grip module. You can print your own jig if want, but recommend the polymer jig they sell. Grip module can just 3d print. The stls they posted had few items didn't print out too well so fixing them and reprinting them this afternoon to see if got them fixed on v2 of the grip modules.

Damn, these threads move fast and so does life.
Anyway, I still recognize it as the basic overall choice and I carry a 9mm plastic striker 99% of the time.
I'm specifically talking about Glocks, Sigs, walthers, Berettas and Smiths in 9x19. I am still pretty jazzed about my 9mm Kurtz guns.
Maybe I could get an FRT PCC LGBTQIA+ but I can't believe I haven't ever owned a .22 pistol in my 25 years of gunning. I went from milsurp (when it reasonable) to tactical slop (glory days of guntube) and never found an excuse to get a .22. I'm in a log jam between the Ruger MK series, a vintage Woodsman or a TX22.
I think that if I leave my 9s at home for a few range trips, I'll start to miss them. It is just to a point where I look at what I brought and I just say
>Guess I'll shoot the Glock because it's cheap
but it also holds 17 rounds and shoots easy as hell, so it really isn't.

There’s a lot more /k/ in the legal field than people think (at least in conservative states). Lolberts want to plug their ears, squint, and pretend that all cops and other justice system elements are 100% bootlicker tyrants out to get the common gun owner because they fundamentally don’t believe in having any enforceable standards for human behavior at all and they know they can push a false dichotomy to gain political capital among red-blooded, albeit lightswitch brained, citizens. They make crackhead cletus who pulled a gun on the UPS driver out to be some kind of saint because they don’t bother to understand the details and can generate engagement using outrage. The ATF and a bunch of federal judges may indeed be slimy tyrants, but if you aren’t a complete degenerate retard and don’t live in somewhere that’s a blue shithole in general, you probably have little or nothing to fear gun-wise from your local authorities. That said, don’t talk to the cops if you ever use self defense. Let your lawyer.

NTA. That IS what absolute co-witness would mean. You are not wrong. Lower 1/3 would look like pic. Some go even a little lower, like lower 1/4, just barely able to see rear and front in window. It does all depend on the red dot, and the mount height as to how tall the irons need to be. Taller sights in middle of window would be big dumb. Irons should be largely ignored, unless needed as a back-up.

Yes but that's not the beginning and end of it. It's a lateral shift from a Glock, Glock has less a aggressive recoil impulse which makes shooting easier, but PDP has a better trigger which makes shooting easier, one is only superior to the other subjectively

Personally I'm not hung up on triggers anymore so of the two* I choose to shoot my Glock more

Charter is the most underrated revolver brand.

>which Bulldog should you buy
Bulldogs are a very high quality revolver. Accurate as fuck, reliable, and overall feelgood. 44SPL is the one I have, that's the classic. 45C is the one that's functionally better though, because ammo isn't as hard to obtain. Realistically speaking there isn't that much difference between 44SPL and 45 Colt. I'd wager the 45 does have better ballistics. Actually, if you want as much function for your dollar as possible, consider the 6 shot 357 Charter Arms Professional. My only real complaints about the Bulldog are that the front sights aren't detachable and it's a little bulky for a 5 shooter. Although i believe the newer ones do have removable front sights. In any case, the factory sights are good. Much better than Ruger. I hope this helps.

>should you do something to the sights once you file them

Makes sense that a steel frame .380 would have less recoil than a polymer 9mm that is about the same size.

I totally agree, that's why I'm always kind of taken aback when people say the opposite. The PPK recoils nicely and is very accurate for its size. Of course, I got the glock 43 because I wanted 9mm, night sights, and a WML, and I love it for its own reasons.

Not necessarily. It's a blowback design, there's very little recoil mitigation. This makes a massive difference. It feels about like shooting my p365.

Here are my current handguns. For my next two purchases I'm getting a suppressor and then a rifle but after I'll be continuing with pistols.
I'm considering a 92fs, mark 23, P2000sk v3 9mm, or a glock 17.

I like the 365 AXG and want another one as a spare. However, Sig thinks that aluminum frame must also come with comp, and also increased their pricing on standalone group module. Why is Sig so evil?

I don't own a .38 but I do own two .357s, one of which is primarily for .38. That'd be my SP101. My favorite 9mm is an Israeli milsurp Jericho and I feel like that's saying a lot because it's contending with the likes of my CZ75 police edition and my P99AS which are both fucking fantastic. My favorite .357 is a rare variant GP100, it's a 4" barrel half lug with fixed sights and the small grip peg. My favorite .44 is a S&W 629 that I inherited from my dad. I don't own a .45 yet but I'll be getting a Springfield Ronin at some point so I can make sweetheart grips with my wife.

Either get another of whatever is already your favorite, OR go for something different. You already have HK, so why mess w/ MK23? Focus on what you like DA/SA, or striker
Also, Mesa Tactical pistol grip. I couldn't stand the one that I had. Square shaped block grip.

Yeah, I'm more of a "variations on a theme" kind of a guy. I like the classic 90s/2000s guns, and obviously HK and CZ. I had an M9 in the army, kind of want one for the feels.
And I actually like the Mesa grip, it came on the gun. I had a regular stock on the FN SLP that I had, it was also fine.

>Sig thinks that aluminum frame must also come with comp
The cheapest options is probably a macro (the ones without a comp) with a poly frame - you toss the frame in the trash, then buy the AXG frame standalone.

Here's one in orlando for $650. Looks like they normally go for $730.

The AXG frame will cost another $400.

It's amazing how expensive these are.

What fixed-barrel blowback operating system is the most “gas efficient?” That is, as little gas escapes through the action as possible (I don’t know the proper term). Is it going to be relatively mainstream stuff like roller/lever/gas delay or some shit like flapper delay or B76 inertia locking?
>>
>>65087231

in context to what? as a suppressor host? why is fixed barrel the focus?
>>
>>65087260
Yeah, as a suppressor host. I know that back-pressure might impact the timing on some of the delay mechanisms, but I’m mostly just asking out of curiosity.
