>>
>>65084323
Because the gun store doesn't make money from it yet requires labor to process and opens them up to liability (especially during the Biden-era zero tolerance for paperwork fuckups).

It doesn't have to be this way but until either: 1. background checks are abolished, or 2. NICS is opened to everyone to use - this is the best we have for now.
>>
>>65084753
What does that mean don't make money for it. Is there some rule that FFLs have to work for free?

>>
>>65084840
>don't charge enough for a service to keep the lights on
>complain when too many people want to pay you for a service for the price you're asking
If only there were a solution to this
>>
>>65084803
1. Each background check costs something to run, usually around $10 per check that the FFL has to pay
2. Time spent doing paperwork (usually 15-20 minutes start to finish) is time not spent on a profit-generating task. Again, not a long time but also not zero time either.

So yeah it's not a lot of money but it's like going to Safeway and buying a wire transfer. Safeway has to facilitate that transaction and recoup at least enough cost as to break even.
>>
>>65084894
So, $10 for transfers, and it costs them $10 to run the check. Huh.

It's wild to me that the Gun Control Act of 1968 requires them to work, quite literally, for free. I suppose if it's the only way to stay out of federal pound me in the ass prison, it's a small sacrifice to make.

if you want an A4 get a Colt, if you want an A2 get H&R, they're close to the same price on PSA's website. but if you don't want to spend that much on a "meme" gun, there are worse options than a standard PA-15.

Is this yours? Do you also have a 1/4 Elcan?

Can you measure the difference between optical axis height over rail between the two models? Or if you only have the M145 can you get a rough measurement for the distance between the height of the rail and say the "top" of the mount, or the underside of the optic body/housing itself. Picture related. I'm trying to get an idea for the distance between the plane/surface marked in red vs the top of the picatinny rail (flat underside of the mount).

Just a brief heads-up, Schmeisser is basically the PSA of Europe.
They offer a wide line of products that look amazing on paper, lots and lots of desirable features on very reasonably priced guns. But the actual quality of those guns can be questionable, regardless of the number of features.
Schmeisser are also big fans of the SIG-USA marketing strategy that is just straight lying about the origin of their products.
They import cheap 3rd world garbage, re-assemble it upon import, or just straight up repacking it, then slap a big "MADE IN GERMANY"-sticker on the box.
>>
>>65086427

Just saying a state that is willing to fuck with you buying mags is going to mess with you more over time and not look out for you or your family. State governance really is important especially now.

Mec-Gar is now the OEM for Glock 43X and 48 magazines so any issues with the dimensions should have been resolved by now. I would say the only caveats about them are the lack of insertion stop on the G17 model [shoving one into a subcompact or smaller frame will not work necessarily] and that they aren't as easy to fill but also not particularly difficult. Apart from that, I've been loading them 18+1 every range trip this year and haven't had any issues

Idk man I lived in two ban states and never felt encroached in any manner. When you open your scope of unjust laws to beyond guns even gun friendly states have over controlling laws when it comes to other matters. It's simply more nuanced than using mag bans to determine where you live in the country and hardly indicative of anything. Btw I ordered normal capacity mags to both my homes in both ban states and was never bothered because who could be assed. Also everything I needed to drill the third hole. Ymmv doing a lot of heavy lifting imo

What a weird take. Usually the states that are whiny bitches about mags have relatively (by US standards) well developed social services, public health, civil rights protections, and so on. The ones where it's easier to buy 30 round mags than inner tubes for a bicycle are the ones where public school kids are required to pledge allegiance to protestant jesus every morning, catholics and jews are officially banned from serving in public office, and women are required to undergo a virginity check before applying for a drivers license or registering to vote.

In fact pretty much the ONLY upside to living in places like that is the firearms scene and the fact that emissions standards for motor vehicles either do not exist or are not enforced. Even getting good wine or fresh vegetables is usually a challenge let alone decent medical care.

Of course its more nuanced but a mag ban is a good heuristic that the state is working against your interests which has long term implication. Its important to think past today when it comes to where you are going to live.

Anon I can only get so hard. To your point they typically have more social services which attracts the worst kind of ppl (br/wn) couple that with soft on crime laws and you or your kids could be making the news just going about your day. Or say you defend yourself and they try to put you in jail because the state doesn't have pro self defense laws ie stand your ground.

Unironically how old are the avatarposters and tripfags? Here are my estimates:

- Big Ben Gvir, Fishy, KCanon, Overwhites, and Wuggy around ~30 plus or minus couple years

- A2grip, Schizo Cabron, Vicious, Dan, and Skelly all at least 40

- Pastebin, Sheetz, and the labubu lover all 20-25

Hell yeah. Probably the most badass suppressor I've seen in years.

Around age 30 something clicked and I put on a fuck ton of muscle mass and started doing better at work and school. Idk why.

what barrel specs should i pursue if i want to maximize bullet tumble? and how much of an affect does twist rate realistically have on it?
my guess is that i should be using a 20 inch barrel and m193 ammo, but i'm not sure if i need a 1:12 twist rate or if i can get the same result while settling for 1:8
>it doesnt matter just do whatever
i'm asking for autism sake here i just wanna know the facts
>>
>>65087912
he said he looked 17, not 12.
>>
>>65087927
Put points into luck.
>>
>>65087927
1:12 behaves the way it does because it barely stabilizes M193. if it gets cold enough it just won't, which is one of the reasons they switched to a faster twist rate.
>>
Is the Giessele El Corto or the Border Patrol rifles high teir?
>>
>>65087927
20" probably too long to get any decent tumbling. It'll just fragment unless your target is like 400+ yards.

Generally you want the slowest twist possible to facilitate projectile destabilization. but not too slow to where it destabilizes in the air (hurting accuracy).

Id recommend an 11.5 firing Tumble-Upon-Impact (TUI) rounds. Past 100 yards it won't fragment, but it still tumbles like a motherfhcker
>>
>>65087927
probably one of those unrifled franklin armory barrels
>>
>>65087939
i see, i think i've been having a misunderstanding thinking that the lethality of m193 in the m16a1 was from bullet yaw, i think it might've actually been fragmentation
so i have to ask, whats more nasty to get hit by, a tumbling bullet, or a fragmenting bullet?
>>
thinking of blind buying a victor saint 11.5", intend to have a nice stock+lpvo+grip+suppressor. range toy mostly but home defence/boog.

anyone already have or have experience with one of these? bad move? good move? what am i in for
>>
>>65087948
Fragment is way worse. Certain bullets like M193, 7N6, and TUI have the center of gravity shifted so that if they're going slow enough to not explode inside of you, they'll tumble. It's kinda like a fallback option.

Fragment is a fine line though, too much fragment (too fast, or certain meme hollow points like VMAX) hurt penetration
>>
I don't understand why you wouldn't just stock up on m193 and m855.
Buying a "loadout" of specialized expensive ammo just seems extreme and silly.
If the plinking ammo and the actual use case ammo matches up your holds remain the same, your experience shooting remains the same across the board and removes a variable and potential point of failure immediately.
>>
>>65087954

>>65087951
They're fine, Springfield is kind of an entry level brand, but they run. Just don't pay too much for it. Once you get up past $1100 you're getting into BCM territory, which will have a much nicer chrome lined barrel, and individually quality-tested parts. Keep an eye on BCM and PSA Sabre. Don't be afraid to slap an upper and lower together.
>>
>>65087965
copy that, sounds good. yeah i'm thinking of going with it instead of a bren 2, so this is great feedback, thank you
>>
>>65087956
77gr OTMs will have much lower flash, perform better through brush and glass, resists wind, and have a longer fragmentation range. It's just better in every respect.

I personally believe in picking a brand that is moderately affordable. Like PSA AAC 77gr or IMI razor core. Possibly mag tech or S&B. All these brands are much cheaper than real Black Hills stuff.

You should zero your rifle for these, and reserve M193 for drills or mag dumping

Bren 2 is great but the hard guard is too short. It bothers me. when you put lights and lasers on it, it splashes off the barrel.

You'll enjoy the Springfield. If shoot out the barrel you can just get a new chrome lined barrel for cheap.

I am waiting for the new M&P factory 11.5 SBRs to drop. $0 tax stamp. Sexy
