talk me out of trading my glawk 19 & three mags for some boomer's rickety heirloom SxS this weekend. i live in a nice neighborhood and want something fun for once
>>65084625Might be some BP only damascus thing that will explode if you try to shoot anything remotely modern in it. I wouldn't risk it.
>>65084625You can get nice enough sxs shotguns with modern proofed barrels for relatively cheap anon.https://simpsonltd.com/products/Z74178
what model is it? what condition is the stock in? the main thing to look out for with those old guns is the wood where the stock meets the action. on a lot of them it's either splitting or oil soaked to shit.
>>65084625Everyone should own a Glock 19 for SHTF purposesAlso send a pic of the boomstick
>>65084625If you’re in a nice neighborhood why are you such a brokie? This smoothbrain got smoothbore syndrome
>>65084625What shotgun? There are a lot of cheap hardware store side by sides from around 1900 that aren't worth shit.
>>65084625>talk me out of...I will not. Owning a pre-Turkshit SxS is a trade-up NGL. Whoever you are fleecing will regret it.>>65084637It's all rebranded Turkshit nowadays though unless you're willing to search far and wide in the used market.
>>65084625Your Glock can be just as fun brother.
>>65084664The link I posted was a used east german shotgun.
>>65084664>It's all rebranded Turkshit nowadays though unless you're willing to search far and wide in the used market. The website that anon linked you has a ton of used European shotguns for cheap. I think they came from the Swedes.
>>65084743>>65084744I agree that he posted a good one, but my point still stands that the only way to find good ones like these is in the used market. New SxS are either overpriced (the ones made by artisans in Europe) or poor quality (Turkshit).
>>65084625Eh might as well go for it. You can always get another fucking glock.
>>65084625dont listen to these fags. The double barrel market is kinda shit now and wont improve anytime soon. Worst case scenario, you get a pretty mantle piece and buy a police trade in glock for cheap later...or you get in on a really great deal that becomes your own heirloom piece.
>>65084625>heirloom stuff>trade 3 glocks and some magsMight want to upgrade that trade for 20+ glocks if you actually want something heirloom quality
>>65084664Letting roaches live rent-free in your head like this, yeesh...
What's the right barrel length if you were going to saw off and sbs one of those cheap sxs from simpsons?
>>65085100This. If you want a nice SxS you have exactly two options: You can pay a lot of money for a new gun, or you can shop around used guns until you find a good one. This isn't difficult, I see nice-but-not-super-collector-desireable SxS's all the time. There's plenty of shit ones too, but it's not hard to find a decent one for a good price.>>65084744Husqvarnas are great value. They're not anything super awesome but they're built solid and they don't cost much.
>>65084625Do it. My sxs is my most fun gun to shoot. Make sure you pick up a watermelon to blast as well.
>>65084664You don't have to search that hard, I got a savage stevens 311 from the 60s for 550, they're all over the place and not much more expensive than turkshit.
>>65085564I believe it's modelled on a coach gun
>>65085579>I got a savage stevens 311 from the 60s for 550Nigga what. These are economy guns. I got a 311 for $100 with some cosmetic issues.
>>65084625It's a fucking glock, you can buy a new glock at any time and it'll be identical to basically every other glock, get the shotgun.
>>65084625Owning both isn't mutually exclusive. Keep the Glock and save up for the SxS. Also get an idea of what to even look for on an SxS and how to tell if it is even functioning correctly. Some stuff like the action being too tight/loose is obvious but other problems like broken firing pins or the trigger not selecting the second barrel after the first shot might not be obvious. As a general rule, of it's Turkish don't buy. They are usually trash. Italian are the gold standard provided they are fully functional. A Stevens 311 like in your picture is a reasonably safe bet for a common US made hardware store gun that's not too expensive and tends to work or at least be fixable. Try to get one of those. If in doubt, take a lot of pictures of all the markings and ask. Don't feel pressured to make a quick impulse buy, you'll regret it.>>65085579That's a bit on the high end but they have been creeping up in price. Still, beats spending 600 and signing up for RMA tennis with whoever imported it.
>>65085564be careful when you do that. a lot of cheap shit double barrels have the rib barely soldered on and it will pop right off when you saw through it.
>>65084625I have a TOZ-63 here. Excellent heirloom my dude, original soviet.Throw in some ammo and you can have it.
