I really want one but I'm nervous that it doesn't have a safety.
>>65085122Get the newer lcp max with a manual safety and stainless slide
(if ? the LCP is what OP is considering) Get a small 5- or 6-shot revolver, in .38 Special or .32 H&R Magnum
>>65085123Max is too big for me. I'm petite. >>65085128Probably too big
>>65085131>max is too big for meIts like a hair bigger you faggot, right near the maximum for a pocket pistol
>>65085122Yeah, I got a Bodyguard 380 because I wanted a safety. You might be fine without one if you carry exclusively in a rigid kydex holster but on a gun this small I want the option to just throw it in my pocket or use a Clipdraw belt clip, fuck doing that without a manual safety.
>>65085128>buy a shitty revolver in stupid calibers
>>65085131>im petite yeah, you're just a stupid faggot with no idea what they're fucking doing and deciding to buy an antique "first time gun owner"time to buy a shitty fucking blowback .380unironically just go buy a Glock 19 Gen 6
>>65085122Don't buy that as a first gun. It's unpleasant to shoot which will drive you away from it. Get something compact or larger which is nicer to shoot so you can enjoy the hobby from the start.
Your first gun should always be a centerfire rifle. It's an investment for when all of this shit becomes so restricted nobody can buy one
>>65085139Plenty of older S&Ws out there for reasonable prices, .38 Special is far from 'stupid'>>65085143>unironicallyBack to plebbit, Brainlet
>>65085144>Don't buy that as a first gunThis, if OP is just learning to shoot (handguns) should get a .22LR pistol or revolverFirst rifle can be a .22LR as well, plenty to choose from and at bargain prices
>>65085122If it don't have a safety then carry condition 3. It may be one more step but it could also keep you out of handcuffs or from shooting your junk off.
>>65085143Nta but the lcp is locked breech >ReeeI know, I know.
>>65085144This is good advice.OP should pick a nice .22 full size pistol if he wants to spend some time shooting and enjoying his first handgun. A compact lightweight .380 or 9mm is a bitch to shoot well and you will not enjoy it at all. These are last ditch defense guns and not target pistols to plink with unless you like wrist pain.
>>65085153.38 Special is more expensive than 9mm and performs worse. 5 shot snub nose revolver is also not a "platform" that is easy to learn how to shoot on. There are now 9mm guns as small as 5 shot revolvers and easier to shoot than revolvers, optic ready, and hold 10+ rounds. The Glock 19 and similar sized guns are small enough to conceal while large enough to not be painful to shoot, especially for a noob. >>65085157my bad
>>65085122I'm pretty sure that your first gun is mandatory to be a Ruger 10/22.
>>65085169>i'm a stupid faggot
>>65085122>I really want one but I'm nervous that it doesn't have a safety. While it is in your hand, keeping your finger off the trigger is the safety, and while it's not in your hand, the holster that covers the trigger and triggerguard is the safety.>>65085178>I'm pretty sure that your first gun is mandatory to be a Ruger 10/22.People who are getting into guns at 18 have to start with a long gun, but someone getting into guns at 21+ isn't wrong to want to start out with a carry gun. It is the gun you'll have on you most often.
Get a bodyguard 2.0. Barely bigger but it shoots like a real gun.
>>65085210Correct, if ? OP anon is set on acquiring a small semiauto pistol in LCP chamberingAlone in its size class, nothing else that small is able to be fully grasped by up to medium size hands and as >>65085136 mentioned is available in a version w/ safety
>>65085122just get a bersa thunder or any ppk clone.
>>65085122If your a limpwrist fag and want an edc, unironically the keltec PR is for you. Its big but its very slim and light, holds 20 rounds the recoil will be similiar if not better than any 380 pistol
>>65085216I strongly recommend against the safety model. It’s too small and unpleasant. It requires a lot of relative force for such a small surface area, and can get you jammed up in a situation involving even slightly slippery hands. I carry the non safety version chambered very often including in the back pocket of a cycling jersey. It slips into a soft sticky pocket holster which covers the trigger. That’s safe enough.
>>65085225Agreed (only mentioned the other recommendation because some people are just adamant about having a safety), due to its size the BG2.0 is a mandatory pocket holster pistol and doesn't have the DAO trigger like the older micro/pocket guns. Most of these smaller subcompact carry striker-fired pistols like the S&W Shield are better without the safety feature if you train, holster and carry properly.
>>65085122The ruger lcp 380 is a terrible gun. Get one of the slightly larger 9mm guns instead there are tons of them like the SR9, Max9, Hellcat, 365, Shield, etc.
>>65085131>Max is too big for me.Everyone here knows you're just saying this because you don't want to pay the price difference to get the higher quality firearm. You do not have the right mindset yet to own a firearm in my opinion if you're trying to save a few bucks. The lcp is a Walmart tier gun, and one of the worst possible first guns you could ever have in my opinion.
>>65085131Kys faglord
>>65085246>ruger lcp 380this pretty much, just a bad design. when it comes to 380 the only options are the bodyguard and ppk clones, anything else is just you a cheapass or a being special buying an obscure boutiqe gun that has no parts bin anymore. Hell for 6 rounds they might as well get a 38 snubby
>>65085256This anon is correct, much better options in small carry pistols exist.OP should consider a subcompact 9 mm >>65085246 such as a Shield Plus or the newer Shield XOtherwise as previously suggested the .380 ACP Bodyguard 2.0 is an excellent choice
>>65085256>pay the price differenceThere is no price difference.https://lockedloaded.com/product/lcp-max-380acp-ss-poly-sftyAnyway OP as usual is a faggot.
>>65085143>yeah, you're just a stupid faggot with no idea what they're fucking doing>shitty fucking blowback .380ironic
Lmao I bought one of these used for 120 bucks back in 2018. Never fired it. Never loaded it. First and only gun I've ever bought. I'm 32 and have 75k in the bank living with my parents. What gun should I buy?
>>65085122If you need a gun to avoid being culturally enriched and you need it NOW, get basically any snub-nosed .38 revolver. If you need to carry it and you can afford it, get a S&W 442. If you need to carry it and you can't afford the Smith, get a Charter Arms undercover. Most importantly, take a fucking class or at the very least have some family member teach you how to shoot. Doesn't have to be a full CCW course or anything, just enough training that you're not a danger to yourself or others. If you want to learn how to shoot, get a bolt-action .22 rifle with irons.
>>65085367Pretty much this
>>65085344get a staccato pistol for carry/desk gun and then stribog sp9, customized with an frt and suppressed barrel for your race war gun
>>65085344Personally, I'd buy a Tikka
>>65085122Here you go
>>65085218also teaches you to clear jams and stuff which is an important skill to develop since you won't get any experience on a glawk
>>65085143the lcp is recoil operated. It’s not made like a makarov or ppk, the barrel is not fixed to the frame. Your felt recoil is lessened in a recoil operated pistol, vs. direct blowback, or a revolver.
>>65085122honestly OP just rent first for the right pistol, you really gotta get the right feel, weight, handling, for it before making the commitment. but get something in 9mm though don't wuss out. check out the historical wonder 9s for some ideas tbqh, modern compact renditions>>65085551based. OP should just get a sig rose as this point
Why are you guys so insecure
You should get this instead. For only a few hundred dollars more it has a safety, it is made of steel and not plastic, it is hammer fired, it is not made in a sweatshop, and your children or grandchildren will be happy to inherit it, none of which applies to a Ruger striker-fired plastic pistol.
>>65085663Are those actually pleasant to shoot?
>>65085672fuck no lol
>>65085587>honestly OP just rent first for the right pistolVery much agree with this. Pistol ergonomics are really subjective and all the high praise and good reviews in the world won't make you like a pistol that feels like shit to your hands. Try a few out and you won't have to ask us which one is best for you. Safety course is a good idea if you're new to it all.
>>65085672It depends entirely on your hands. I have large hands, but with skinny fingers and I find it very comfortable to shoot, with recoil similar to my p365, which I think is also light recoiling. My dad has fat sausage fingers and he hates both my ppk and my sig. He either gets slide bite or the beavertail digs into the fat web of his fat hand. He also says the p365 is harsh recoiling. I think that the lcp is much more uncomfortable to shoot.
>>65085122>First gunDon't buy that. Buy a Ruger 10/22 and a 9mm compact.
>>65085596>Come to a site of hardcore autist enthusiasts>Ask for help>Reject all advice>WHY ARE YOU ALL INSECURE?!?Kill yourself.
>>65085695I'm not op, I'm just amused by how dependent you guys are on gender-affirming products
>>65085700>I'm not insecure, I just save a bunch of pictures about how you're insecureOkay.
>>65085713Don't worry BRO, no one is going to take away your gender affirming care, BRO, you're a MAN and the libtards can molon labe it where the sun don't shine right?
>>65085716Huh?
>>65085122for the same price get a bodyguard II unless you're planning to tuck this under your bra strap
>>65085769Who the fuck is retarded enough to buy an LCP for $400?It's $200 all damn day, $220 for the max
>>65085716You should be grateful that you are anonymous, but not abuse it by feeling totally free to post retardation, should it seep into your actual life.
>>65085716brother this is a board of peace. examine your heart and take such ill will elsewhere
>>65085795>bodyguard IIi got mine for $329, no taxes. About the same as a LCP Max, maybe $50 more
>>65085868You can get the lcp max for around 200-240, i got mine for 219
>>65085122Shoot one first, then you'll realize why it doesn't have a safety. Also, try it with and without the mag extensions.
>>65085868In what world is $329 $50 more than 2$220?$329 is a great deal on the bodyguard none the less, where did you snag it?I'm using bi mart for my Ruger prices btw
>>65085122>I really want one but I'm nervous that it doesn't have a safety.get a bodyguard 2.0 with safety>>65085131>I'm petite.then you want a bigger gun, smaller guns are harder to handle recoil with, consider one of the beretta 80 series
>wanting to feel safe with a tiny caliberI say fuck that.Let the bitch print so hard that it's visible through a jacket. You sound like a twink, so probably have to fend off bears.Get yourself that 357 Magnum and let them know what's up. They even make them in gay colors.
>>65085885my LGS sometimes(every other year) runs a deal where he sells everything at distributor cost+shipping for one day, and the all-in was $329
>>65085902>as you can see from my near native level fluency in homosexual slang, I am NOT gayThis thread is a goldmine
>>65085902How do you know its not a woman?
fuck yamudda
>>65085965>how do you know its not a woman?
>>65085919I suppose that's only cheating slightly more than me using a small regional chain.Bodyguard II is $389 for them. Smaller margin than I'd expect if the dealer price +shipping for you is $ 329Unrelated but RIP LCP II I guess, Ruger discontinued it while keeping the classic and the max.A father outlives his son.
>>65085672No pocket pistol is pleasant to shoot.
>>65086123Except the Bodyguard 2.0the Walther PPK isn't a 'pocket pistol' (not compared to a Baby Browning), too heavy for thatIt's a subcompact from the 1930s
>>65085122The trigger is fucking heavy because it's double action only, it's not going off without good effort, which also makes it a pain in the ass to shoot when combined with the barebones iron sights. That said, the magazines are literally the easiest thing to load of any guns I have besides my 1911 so you can get easy trigger time on it. I pocket carried mine for a good while and you won't find a cheaper or smaller gun for carry besides maybe the Keltec P32. Mine has been entirely reliable with shit fmj or premium jhp on normal and extended mags. Would still carry it but I can slip a P365 into my pocket almost as easy so that's what I do.>>65085144>>65085147>>65085154>>65085164Holy shit sure is fudd advice hour in here. Why do you tards think our petite OP wants an LCP as first gun? He's probably trying to avoid getting his bussy sodomized after moving out on his own at 21. He's not putting a 500 dollar Mark IV or a full 10/22 into his skinny jeans.>>65085965Rule 30
>>65085217Based Bersa poster. It really is a great cheap first gun.
>>65086123The bodyguard 2.0 makes 380 feel like .22 and shoots way better than a gun that size should. It’s the perfect pocket gun and if SW made an all metal frame one I’d even pay $1000 for it. Too bad Hollywood is compromised by gynocentric agendas otherwise it would become the next “PPK”
>>65086150>being so attractive you have to carry around a gun for every moment spent outside without a larger stronger man to protect youAre you sure you're living in the real world and not a gooner emasculation fantasy?
>>65085131>I'm petite.BUSSY ALERT BUSSY ALERT WOOOWEEEWOOOWEEEWOOOWEEE BUSSY ALERT BUSSY ALERT
>>65085122I would strongly suggest a p32 instead. When fully loaded it's the same weight as an empty LCP. 32ACP is easier to shoot. Don't worry about stocking up on ammo, having a couple boxes in reserve is fine. When you get a 9mm that's what you can stock. I carry mine everyday, loaded chamber, don't even have a holster for it. I know most people wouldn't carry it naked but a DAO pistol with a trigger that weighs 12x the weight of the actual pistol is very safe. I also carry a 32 J frame this way. Both have a clip or hook grip so I can carry AIWB when needed. DAO pistols were called roamers by the old timers for this reason, so you'll be fine with a pocket holster. A j frame would be far more flexible because you can get viable belt holsters and it can pull double duty. LCP and p32 are too small for this. 32 h&r is my recommendation over 38 special for the same reasons...more rounds and easier to shoot.
>>65086123I don't consider striker fired guns safe for pocket carry, but a 32 caliber pocket guns are very pleasant to shoot. P32, 32 J frame, 3032 Beretta..
>>65086376>I don't consider striker fired guns safe for pocket carryreally? why?
>>65085217>PPK cloneIsn't the thunder PP sized or somewhere between a PPK/s and a PP?
>>65085246>>65085284Seethe all you want, the LCP is the standard by which all other pocket pistols are measured for a reason.
>>65086890the P3AT and LCP are obsolete junk due to Bodyguard 2.0(P32 is the original and now only viable remaining member of that dinosaur much-photocopied design family)
>I'm nervous that it doesn't have a safety.Understandable. Just get one with a safety lol. Also go find a range where you can try a couple guns, the smaller the gun the more the kick because the gun has less mass. Go to HandGunHero website to compare sizes. I like the 43x enough but honestly the S&W Shield 2 might be better and I believe they can have a safety. Just get a mid tier pistol and a lot of ammo and practice. Buy at least 3 magazines, at least 3. Don't be afraid of revolvers either, they're fun but the small ones kick too. Here's an ancient pic
>>65086955>Shielda Shield X now exists
>>65086955Can't read shit
>>65086890>LCP is the standardLmao it's not the standard it's used as a reference point because it's the absolute bottom of the barrel.
>>65085122dont buy one of these as a first gun. it's too small and will be difficult to shoot well for a new shooter. its also very slim which concentrates recoil into the web of your hand. it is just 380 so I don't know know how uncomfortable it would be to shoot. Ive got a similarly slim keltec pf9 9mm and my hand is throbbing after 100 rounds. If you're concerned about a G19 being too large get something like a G48 or one of the other slimline compacts.
