So how much neck and/or upper back problems are these tacticool "the AR-15 and its derivates are not unergonomic at all, you just need to drop your head down" guys going to suffer when they are in their 60s or even younger? This can't possibly be healthy at all. The AR-15 was designed with a heel drop of essentially zero inches, which is fine and actually preferred for prone shooting, but is an ergonomic nightmare for standing shooting. I don't know how these guys tolerate shooting like this, or at least how they can in good faith defend the poor ergonomy.
>>65086001I 'member when giant risers were a fad for a couple months, i guess people didnt want to admit the ar may not be absolute perfection and stray from the tribe
>>65086001Fuck them andfuck yamudda
>>65086001shit bait
>>65086015I run one of these with a picatinny backplate that gives the heel a 1.5" drop. I can have a good comfortable hold without having to mount my optic on a tower. It's very comfy.
>>65086024Why dont they just make a uh idk taller stock? Surely theres soke available
They like, dont? High mounts have been a larper meme for half a decade.
>>65086001You don't spend much time in that position, noguns.>>65086015>airshitRisers are necessary to clear over chunky IR devices. Some new ones are packaged cleverly to minimize the problem.
>>65086001Hop achieves perfect form hunching his upper back over an AR while getting his lower back blown out by his gay Mexican lover
>>65086038Having a high mount on your optic is pointless without an equally high cheek riser for proper cheek weld. This is made complicated by the AR-15's terrible (and unergonomic in its own way) top rear charging handle. And even with a high optic, and even with a cheek riser like >>65086024, you still haven't solved the issue of the zero heel drop. Which is why we get shit like this.
>>65086001Who cares? If you're not hip-firing an MG 42, you're a fucking faggot who deserves to die.Serious business aside though, how fucking retarded are you if you believe firing a gun for a few minutes in a slightly uncomfortable position would cause any kind of long term neck/back damage? Is she even firing an AR in that picture?
I think I spend too much time here when I recognize random autists and their pet issues posting new fucking threads all the time.
I've shot guns my whole life, but never shot or owned an AR til I was almost 30. By then, I was/am locked in on old school shooting stances. A lot of guys were exposed to guns via vidya, and I think that explains the gun atmosphere the last 15 years.I absolutely cannot stand the new school larperator shit, especially the Costa grip and nose-to-charging handle. It's incredibly uncomfortable, it's like wearing shoes that absolutely do not fit, but persisting wearing them anyway. To each their own, I just find it stupid.
>>65086525Been there a lot of times. Eventually I get sick of it and leave for a couple months.
>>65086535its tactics, the older ones didnt have body armor. making yourself as small of a target as possible was important. head down bladed stance.now its be as big of a target as possible and hope they shoot you in the plate.
>>65086563Which is fine, I just wish the civilian practitioners of those methods could finally be honest with themselves and others and admit it a LARP on their own part.
>>65086540. I came back after a good while and wondered to myself why it got slow af and now I know.
>>65086587Why are you expecting an entire vague group of people to come and meet your demands as a unit? Are you a fatherless retard?
>>65086611Who says this is a demand? They're larpers, they claim they're not, they're fooling nobody but themselves and dudes like yourself evidently. You clearly think in retardedly literal terms.t. was just working on my truck with my dad yesterday
>>65086001>I don't know how these guys tolerate shooting like thisHonestly anon I think it mainly boils down to:>>65086041>You don't spend much time in that position, noguns. On the scale of ergonomic time and what most humans do, even though the AR in standing-shooting position isn't great it's just such a tiny fraction of what anyone is doing that it doesn't really matter. Like, having an ergonomic office chair, pillow/mattress, good posture in general and so on are all important because you're doing those for many hours either a fair amount per week or every single day. Something you're only doing for minutes at a time on weekends just isn't causing most people real problems vs everything else. That's not to say anyone should feel bad about trying to improve upon it but the AR pattern has been around for long enough that lots of people using it really are in their 60s or older now, and it doesn't seem to be known as some huge problem. Doing proper stretching and exercise likely makes a billion times the difference. Also:>how tolerateThe AR is very far from perfect and I have my own stuff I prefer more for me personally. But it's obvious the bang-for-your-buck, modularity, general support and customization is huge. That's why it's popular. People are willing to put up with flaws to get other advantages, that's always been the case.
>>65086535Behold a whiny boomer faggot
>>65086001the most nogunz post of the yearcongratulations.kys
>>65086001>>65086015just put the rifle super high up in your shoulder. you can get a decent cheek weld and ARs don't have enough recoil for it to be a problem. ARs should have have a longer toe so you can do it easier but it's not that big of a deal.
>>65086015> i guess people didnt want to admit the ar may not be absolute perfection and stray from the tribeI mean that all looks similar to the hob of an optic on a carry handle. The way Stoner intended it to be.
