What does “organization” mean?
>>
>>65088321
gun, put in a structure, easy to identify and take to range
>>
>>65088289
>gun sock and with desiccant bags
Why is it that the people who overthink rust protection love to talk about that crap but are strangely ignorant of VCI products? I don't understand this. You'd think if someone was that obsessed about their gun storage they'd be onto that? It's not like it's new.

My working theory is that VCI products are less obvious, whereas any braindead chimp can spot a dessicant packet.

While we're on the subject, WTF is the point of putting the gun in a sock AND in a plastic container? The point of a sock is that it provides a small amount of padding. That's relevant if you put the gun in a safe or toss it in a range bag with other guns, but it certainly doesn't matter if the gun is in its own little autism box. Is this another case of people not understanding what these products are and how they work?
>>
>>65088358
I guess the plastic could still scratch stuff up if there is some dust and it's probably just more pleasant to have them not slide around that much in the boxes
>>
>>65088381
>Oh no, a spec of dust scratched my handgun inside of a plastic box!
Do gunsoomers really?
>>
>>65088289
Meh, not bad, if you have the space. Most people don't have the variety to lend confusion. Survivors will appriciate being able to identify the inheritance. Beats rooing throuh a carbboard box. Eliminates confusion and precludes forgetfulness issues. All in all, $5 totes and a label maker solve many issues. If you have the space, and a labeler.
>>
>>65088687
>and a labeler.
this is going to blow your mind, but what if you just write directly on the box with a marker? Or...and you might want to sit down for this one....write it on a piece of paper! You know, in case it's not already written on the gun...
>>
>>65088289
I keep my revolver with a box of ammo in a DeWalt tool bag on my closet shelf and everything else is in the safe in the garage.
>>
>>65088705
>thinking small
Penmanship is underrated, esp in the American education system. Many people's script is illegible. Sit down for this one, labelers can change your life, because you cant, and this may blow your mind, use them if you don't have one. A simple Brady or Avery labeler is not expensive and you can even label your front door.

No. Quite the opposite. How are you going to afford guns that are actually worth collecting if you're blowing your wad on stupid shit like label printers. I'll bet you have video game subscriptions and use doordash too.
>>
>>65088726
>blowing your wad
Sorry, I should have said small wallet if you think a labeler keeps you from buying guns. When you can level up from an Amazon box and a Sharpie, contribute to the thread.
>>65088705
>already written on the gun...
Talking mags here, Tonto. Mags are rarely labeled.
>>
>>65088736
>Sorry, I should have said small wallet if you think a labeler keeps you from buying guns.
It's not just the labeler. It's the mindset behind the person who buys a labeler. The labeler is the symptom, not the condition.

>Talking mags here, Tonto
You're labeling your mags so your grandchildren know what guns they fit in? Really?

Op pic clearly shows totes labeled, why are you being retarded?
>>
All my guns lie haphazardly in the Carcinogen Corner (two feet from my bed). They get put back in roughly the same area unless I just got back from the range. Home defense rifle/pistol go in the same exact spot, every time. Everything else is more of a heuristic than an algorithm.

I will not post a picture, but just imagine how a person who does not vacuum might keep their gun corner.
>>
>>65088790
Nta but brother you are fuming over nothing, like a girl.
>>
>>65088790
I label (more number, but some get additional designation) my mags so I can easily identify which one has issues if it occurs.
>>
>>65088289
>How do we Organize guns and magazines here?

Boxes. I don't like your way of organizing because it's not centralised enough. Too many sub-boxes.

>loaded with ammo

But why? I'd understand one or two for in the nightstand, but all loaded up and thrown in tupperware like yesterdays lasagna? Wouldn't that be bad for springs in the mag long term?
>>
>>65089641
>Wouldn't that be bad for springs in the mag long term?
That has been proven false. Springs fail after continuous motion of compression and decompression. Keeping the spring in a static state of either, long term, does not damage it
>>
>>65089641
It makes going to the range much easier, and no the springs won't be damaged, read nigga

Good to know. Might start doing this with my range mags now, then.

if i get more guns or start collecting more ammo and mags i might change it. a lil surface rust on the shitsticks aint the end of the world
>>
>>65088736
when you can level up from eight+ different strikersloppas with minute differences all shooting the same cartridge maybe you can contribute to your own thread, gay guy. Until then there are plenty of updoots to be had on /r/CAguns
>>
>>65088289
For right now it's in various cardboard boxes until I find a properly customizable case for a reasonable price that fits 15+ pistols from pocket sized to 6" revolvers.
I like your labelling but for me I want my mags to be right next to their guns.
>>
>>65088289
I sleep with most of my guns so there's that.
