Anon was asking about her the other day. It does in fact appear like she is still with the fleet. The USN maintains significant MCM as a result. That just means the question remains, why isn't she being utilized? Is it because there aren't any mines or because they can't enter the strait to commence operations?

The USN has better ways to remove mines that don't involve sailing through the middle of a minefield.
>>
>>65095018
Yeah, one of those ways is a MCM LCS
>>
There isn't much point to sending in a minesweeper of any sort when Iran can just claim that they laid mines and scare the shit out of ship insurers and accomplish the same result regardless of whether there are actually any mines in the strait. Even if the US goes in and clears the mines and/or verifies that there aren't any, Iran can just claim that they laid more. Civilian shipping is just extremely skittish about driving giant tubs full of flammable shit through a warzone, so there isn't much point putting US sailors at risk for something that won't ultimately have any real impact on the situation.

At this point iran has been such a wet fart of disappointment I wouldn't surprised if they didnt have any mines nor the ability to plant them.

If by significant, you mean anemic, then yeah, dumb cunt.

A solution would be to fly patrol aircraft and announce anything that isn't a cargo ship approaching from the Iranian side is going to be sunk without warning. Then actually do it.

No one seemed to have this compliant when we had the Avengers, and the LCS are significantly superior to them. It’s almost as if the issue people have is an emotional knee jerk rejection and not anything based in reality…
>>
>>65095940
Sounds like a great way to lose patrol aircraft to MANPADs.

helicopters

tell me how your manpad is going to hit a plane at 30000 feet over 50 miles away
>>
>>65096852
Yes, the LCS has them and is a great platform to operate them from.
>>
>>65094913
It's total shit and can only be used after the war is won. Once again stunning American ship design, imagine if it was spent on a real ship.
>>
>>65094913
I think the "mines" are a fabrication of the MSM tasked with building public support for the war.
If the strait was mined the US wouldn't be blockading it because no one would be using it.
>>
>>65098610
derp they mine the middle part so they can force traffic to go through their little island straight where they get tolled
>>
>>65098718
If you mean Qeshm island I have serious doubts a tanker of cargo ship can pass through there, you got any AIS data track to prove it?
