My take, good but it just shows they were being tricky with the version they released. Number two, they're replacing the XRT and 1092 with a new RF2 / III+ plate but there's no ETA on that. My take, if it stops M855A1 + M80A1 and is comparable to a 3411 on weight with no bullshit it might be passable... maybe. It's RMA however so there will be BS. Three, the XRT's entire story is that they wanted to make a new 1165 Level IV, but the ceramic was too thin so they sold the ceramic they got at a damn-near loss, hence why the XRT was so cheap. They also said it stops M80A1 100% of the time. Going off Buff's testing apparently not. The trick is that RMA's new plates are tested to either no drop or just 0101.07. Buff does a double drop per 0101.06. This is gonna keep happening as the industry transitions to .07. Maybe we'll see drop pads become a thing - rebranded trauma pads.

>>65098334Yeah I got nothing. So for those unaware, the super light, super thin, heavily undersized RMA 1165 has no drop protection. Buffman was not even allowed to subject it to a reduced or easier drop test. This bit isn't new information, it came out when Buff's test vid did and people questioned the validity of the test. Keep in mind the NIJ drop test is actually not that hard. Four foot drop onto concrete with a 10lb weight on the back. One time. That's the base requirement for plates under 0101.07. Think on that before trusting no-drop plates like those. Not all ceramics are this fragile, but a lot will fail that test, so it's important to buy the ones with drop pro, because frankly the mail treats packages worse than that and if shit's not packaged right you're screwed and may not even know it unless you x-ray or CT the plates.
