Currently on station at the north of the Red sea, longest continuous deployment since vietnam. 302 days and counting. In action off venezuela, then transiting the atlantic for Epic Fury. Major fire with 600 crew displaced. Short berthing in Crete for repairs/refit, crew got a liberty in Croatia, then back into action.

Not a shill. I'm just interested in this story. And it seems like a hell of a story. I'm probably wrong on some details, which is why I'm asking you.

Doesn't look like they're coming home anytime soon. George Bush carrier group is on the way to the region and should be there by the end of the weekend. Which is another inflection point. I wouldn't usually even consider this, but I suspect they're keeping the ship away from home port in the US for a reason. It's not unreasonable to suspect with our current government. This is based on nothing lol. Anyway, I REALLY want to hear from someone on that crew. Also, the Navy secretary was just fired this afternoon.

I'm sorry you're mentally retarded. They should've caught that during the recruitment process and denied you.

Wrong. Trump kept calling Phelan in the middle of the night asking for battleships. Phelan stated that in multiple interviews.

The reason these ships have to stay on station so long is because maintenance on them takes forever because we have almost no shipyards left yet insist on maintaining a gargantuan fleet. They can't be relieved until a drydock is free, which takes forever. If we didn't have 11 fucking carriers it might not be a problem, but we want to pretend we still have the world's largest shipbuilding industry.

9 month deployments were par for the course in the early 2000's. By that, I mean you did your 9 month westpac, rolled right into a 6 month avail, and then you were out for 9 months again. Rinse and repeat until your contract was up (and you didn't get stoplossed) or you rotated to shore duty. My final westpac started as a surprise two week deployment right after the holiday stand down to cover another ship that broke down, Iraq started, and we didn't get back until November. NGL, it kind of sucked, but it made it real easy to tell the reserves recruiter to go fuck himself while I was processing out.
>and the best part?
>I got off easy with a 1 year stoploss because I was a 2nd termer

It'll get fixed the same way that it got fixed the last time. Instead of the sailors getting it in the ass, the yardbirds will get it in the ass. And I'm a yardbird now. And I was a yardbird then, when we started catching up from GWOT in the early teens.

600 burning mattresses, on the heels of intentional toilet clogging, isn't a "laundry fire", its a major PRISON RIOT.

How do you get 600 burning mattresses when the housing "pods" are only 40 bunks each???

Everyone was like "What the froggity fuck???" when Joe Biden appointed (Rear) Admiral Rachael "Dick" Levine, who was High School football team "Mate" of the Chi-Com traitor Gen Millie.

POTUS Trump is like "hold mah Diet Coke! :)"

Sec of Navy, on the eve of USN's "greatest victory", suddenly resigns (or gets fired less than a year and half after appointed) for no reason, with no known replacement on deck.

Retard question, is there any way of replacing the crew while on deployment? I realize that months-long deployments are a natural part of the job, but you're gonna have some serious burnout by the time you hit 150 days at sea, nevermind 300.

In 1870 any swinging dick drinking on the waterfront could operate any station on a sailing vessel but if you shanghai the mate on a coastal fishing boat what the fuck are you going to do with him? Are you going to give him a crash course in machining or aircraft maintenance or nuclear propulsion while underway?

Also most of the time crimpers used drugs and not violence.

amortized power projection vehicles by an empire in decline. My hot take is that it would take US to lose 2-3 of them permanently for them to retreat back behind the oceans. Lost tech they can't replace and only maintained on account of their highly overvalued world pillar economy status. Which they are in a process of rapidly dismantling by destroying the alliance base it is founded upon

The US economy goes from slow decay to violent anal prolapse if the petrodollar is replaced with a petroyuan too quickly, but in reality we are talking about a much more gradual replacement over the course of decades.
Nothing really ever happens, except when that slow decay combined with demographic decay hits some unknown threshold, but that's still like 15 years ahead of us so don't worry about it.

There's not many things worse than missing all major holidays and your family risking your life for Israel in an operation named "Epic Fury" by a frat bro at the behest of a pedophile and his Israeli master. Serving in Vietnam would be far less pointless and demoralizing by comparison, and I imagine the music and Vietnamese hookers would be better at least.

Chinks really latched onto the fact that we'll be down to 10 active carriers for a few months later this year as a result of a congressional mandate that Kennedy must be capable of launching F-35s before entering service. There's no technical reason why it couldn't already be in service right now with one of our many wings of FA-18s on board, but Congress doesn't like it when chinkoids are allowed to be more implessive than we are. How many T-shirts have you tried to flush down your toilet?

Reports indicate that the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) has experienced significant, ongoing issues with its vacuum-based sewage system, which has been severely clogged by items improperly flushed by the crew, including T-shirts and pieces of rope.
Key Details Regarding the "Rope" and Sewage Issues:

Persistent Clogging: The system, modeled after those on commercial cruise ships to conserve water, has proved inadequate for the carrier's 4,600+ sailors, leading to frequent failures.
Specific Items Found: Engineering teams have reported finding various items clogging the sewage lines, including a four-foot piece of rope and clothing like T-shirts, according to a 2026 report on the ship's maintenance challenges.

system works fine on cruiseships with 9,000 passengers and 4,000 crew (who are all low wage Turd Worlders) because......

Cruise Ship passengers and crew don't normally do prison riots flushing t-shirts or 4' THICC ropes down toilets.

Sometime they have brawls over fried chicken or a "diss" but that is diff.

You debark the old crew and board new crew. Very cheap to do at a port where you can bus the crew to and from the nearby airport.

Without docking the ship you can use smaller boats, helicopters, airplanes, larger boats and even same size boats.
>>
>>65102528
>Cruise Ship passengers and crew don't normally do prison riots flushing t-shirts or 4' THICC ropes down toilets.
I suspect clogged toilets and septic systems are common on cruise ships especially if passengers flush nonflushable hygiene items or attempt to flush trash out of laziness.

I'm pretty sure navy buys their toilets, sewage systems and other shit dealing with shit from commercial supplies. I wouldn't be surprised if exactly same fucking shit was found on lot of cruise ships to deal with cruise shits.

It's more of a musical chairs problem. There are 2 yards that do all the overhaul work for CVNs so as soon as one is out another should be coming in. When a deployment is extended, firstly you get slack capacity because that ship is not in the yard when it's supposed to be, then whenever it does get there it means it's overlapping into the next hulls availability window which means that one has to stay at sea regardless. Ofc the longer you're at sea past design parameters the more shit breaks so the longer you need to be in overhaul so it's a cascading problem. Extending a DDGs cruise from 6 to 14 months fucking sucks for the crew (ask me how I know this) but in terms of availability it's much less of a crisis than extending a CVN. Claudle told Trump this point blank in the press and was ignored because orange man's great great great great great great uncle was an important Dutch admiral in the age of sail so clearly he knows best.
