Talk me out of it

LCP max is nicer and about the same price
Max doesn't kick, and a flat nose .380 has a ton of penetration.

Not dogging on .32 though, tbqhfam 22lr is good enough for self defense if avoiding recoil is what you're after

No. It’s extremely controllable and fun to shoot, unlike a 380 in the same size or an airweight 38. Buy it.

unrelated sidenote, it is absolutely imperative that OP does not buy the Keltec P3AT in some attempt to compromise with larger calibers. The P3AT is somehow the worst pistol ever made even though it should be the same as the P32

Lcp is bigger and heavier, that's why I'm not considering

LCP max is a fat bloated whore, LCP2 was peak but they don’t make it in 380 anymore. If you’re a fat sweaty retard in cargo pants just get it over with and carry a snubbie. P32 is fine if you just close your eyes and swipe whenever you buy ammo
>>
>>65099077
the only people who wanna talk you out of it are ruger simps who are knee deep in cope (its also not going to crack it's slide rails, like the mexicano shitheaps ruger pushes out too)

its easily the most handy "modern" gun on the market, and blows both the LCP, P3AT, and whatever other "micro carry" (if its not P32 sized, it ain't fucking "micro") straight out of the water
its probably Kel-Tec's best gun, besides the KSG

Really want a p32 for a pocket pistol, but at the same time the consoomerism part of my brain wants the latest and greatest such as the bodyguard 2.0, 380 is cheaper, hmm, contemplation.

the width & weight are still the deciding factors in the end (it really doesn't seem like they'd matter, until you actually have them side by side and carry them for a bit)
i wish someone would finally make an actual P32 clone, but able to mount a dot & light/laser

i'm unironically considering getting a smith to mount a plate onto mine, just so i can have a dot on it

I dont want to. I like the idea of it for the niche. Others Id realistically consider are
>new bodyguard 380 auto
Very good capacity to its size but bigger. Maybe buy one in addition to the keltec and figure out if you can handle the extra size.
>32 auto NAA
little smaller overall but heavier. Barrel is fixed and you can press it onto something without knocking it out of battery. Keltec might be able to do that too though. Unlike the seecamp, the naa can shoot fmj which is what you should use in 32 auto. Solid steel is a pro/con and you can get it titanium nitrided gold with pearl grips like a pimp.

It's ugly plastic crap. Why are people even so enamored with it? We had the Remington 51 100 years ago. Why limit yourself to this, when something like the Walther PPK or new Beretta Tomcat is available for not that much more money, and both can be had with suppressor threads?

The PPK was originally designed for 32ACP and the 380 versions suffer from the design modifications. Meanwhile, you have a full size gun shooting a small boolet.

Enjoy your cracked frames.

Get it.
For a shitty pistol to drop in your pocket in a sticky holster for wandering around the yard or a quick run to the store, it's awesome.
Just look for online deals when it comes to buying ammo.
>>
>>65099089
Its a good pocket gun, a great one even its all i carry these days, but strictly speaking the p32 has it beat in weight and size
>>
>>65100079
How the FUCK do the tomcats crack from .32??? What sort of shit potmetal are they using? Why cant it just be a scaled down 81bb with a tilt barrel
>>
>>65100035
the point isnt to look good, the point is to be as light weight and small as possible while be reliable. which it does very well. concealed carry/backup gun is the whole damn point of the P32.
>>
>>65100079
>The PPK was originally designed for 32ACP and the 380 versions suffer from the design modifications. Meanwhile, you have a full size gun shooting a small boolet.
I own the .32 PP and only advocate people buy the .32.
>Enjoy your cracked frames.
The new model Tomcats (on the right) are overbuilt and don't have this issue.
>>
>>65100274
A dogshit design they refuse to update.

You have to use weak .32 ACP ammo with muzzle energy less than 130 ft/lbs. Literally says that in the manual.

And if you ever do get a cracked frame, they'll blame it on you using ammo that is too powerful and refuse any warranty. Even if you only ever used weak ammo. Fuck Beretta for this. Somehow the P32 is the better buy here and for way less money.
>>
>>65100300
>A dogshit design they refuse to update.
They literally did update it, see >>65100294

Whos paying 80 cents per round for .32???

I got a 4050 round crate of S&B Czech steel core Euro pressure spec .32 ACP and it worked out to 24 cents per round.

Ammo has been 100% reliable for me, its hot (compared to anything US made) and has steel cores so penetrates well which is what you want with .32 ACP.
>>
>>65099567
Good
>>
>>65100366
The S&B stuff (~70gr at ~1000fps) is really too hot for any small handgun. On my PP it bruises the web of my hand and causes FTF consistently on the second round. I could only imagine how painful it would be on a P32. Are you firing it out of a P32? I know it's recoil operated, does it tame it enough? PMC Bronze, which is ~70gr at ~900fps is perfect for my PP and has a similar impulse to a .22LR autopistol.

I can't speak to the new Tomcats, but given Beretta's history with the Tomcat, I'll wait to see if their "updated design" actually holds up.
I CAN speak to the old Tomcats, having owned one. There was an extremely thin/weak portion of the slide that was pretty much guaranteed to crack in less than 2000 rounds; even if you kept your ammo under the 130 ft#'s recommendation. That recommendation was NOT in the manual, it was printed on a separate insert that was included in the box.
Pic related is the craptastic failure point.
Additionally, the Tomcat is NOT suitable as a carry piece due to the tipping barrel/blow back design. This design means there is no extractor. The gun is entirely dependent upon the casing getting blown out of the chamber by the pressure of the fired round. If there is a burr on the casing, a bulge, a casing out of spec, or any other thing that makes the casing stick in the chamber you are absolutely 100% boned. Why? Because it isn't a simple "rack and tap" to clear the malfunction. To clear a stuck casing in a Tomcat you need to :
Drop the magazine
Tip up the barrel
Pry the stuck casing out of the chamber (this will almost certainly require a tool like a spent casing, a key, a screw driver, etc)
Drop the barrel
Reinsert the magazine
Rack the slide
In a gun fight, I think this has a pretty good chance of getting you killed.
Given the absolute garbage quality of the firearm I cannot recommend it even as a range toy.
Maybe the new ones are better, but whatever you do, do NOT buy an old one.

>>65100372
and double (more actually) the recoil
so no, not "good"

The og lcp is closest in size and weight for an easier to purchase caliber.
I love the p32 though and I think it's peak pocket carry. No one comes close to it other than the original lcp.

At a half inch taller and half inch longer, and only 11.8oz vs 6.9 oz.
It's tempting. But so is carrying two p32 for only 14oz
>>
>>65100289
This is true.
The p32 is kinda the Glock of pocket pistols.

i wear large to xlarge gloves and this thing is a bitch to shoot. i could barely hit the silhouette at 7 yards and the trigger is so awkward to reach, the guard left my index finger sore for days after i guess from bumping into it

>*snorts a fat line*
>ok, ok, ok, shut up, I have an idea: we make a .32 pocket pistol
>everyone *puffs PCP laced spliff* already does that
>no, we're gonna make it locked breach
>oh fuuuuuck yeah
I think people really sleep on how unique the P32 is. Being a locked action instead of blowback gives it a weight and size advantage that just can't be matched. What other locked .32 pistols are outbthere anyways? The ancient model 51 and the savage 1907 are the only ones I can think of.
