Do Americans really need to print that on everything?
>>

Yes.
Ballistol is 100% food safe and used for oiling food processing equipment like meat slicers.
>Also fed to horses to cure colic and soldiers for constipation.

Thought of buying a gallon to keep me happy for a lifetime.

Yes, make sure to use it outside or a ventilated area.

>Ballistol is 100% food safe and used for oiling food processing equipment like meat slicers.
That's a special version of Ballistol.
To certify your product as food save you need to disclose the chemical composition, which they obviously didn't want to do with their original formula. So they developed a new product (Ballistol H1) that is certified food save.

So, to make it short. Please don't drink Ballistol kids, it'll probably be fine, but we don't know for sure and if you ever get the urge to do it anyways, use the correct vairant.

>In experiments with rats and rabbits the animals' entire intestinal tracti and stomachs were filled with Ballistol. The animals showed signs of uneasiness. After the Ballistol had been evacuated from their bodies as provided for by nature, the animals without exception appeared to be in excellent condition and showed no adverse prolonged side effects. It was not possible to establish an LD 50.
>Ballistol does not contain ingredients considered hazardous by OSHA. It does not contain any ingredients, which normally may be considered harmful or fatal if swallowed, BUT DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING, ASPIRATION CAN
OCCUR. CONSULT A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY. It does not contain any ingredients which may be toxic for warm-blooded organisms, reptiles or aquatic organisms, if used as directed. However, Ballistol may kill small insects such as aphids, mites, chiggers, ants, termites, spiders or wasps etc. by mechanically clogging up their respiratory systems, as most oils will.

I should lobby for our workplace to use Ballistol lmao (I work at a meat plant)

Paraphrasing a review for ballistol from 1961
>in 1945 i took my rifle and lovingly cared for it using ballistol before hiding it in the cesspit.
>once we were "allowed to" again, 7 years had passed and I thought my rifle eaten up by rust. But on the contray i found it to be in perfect condition, even the sling was without flaw.
>the rifle passed the proofing house while demonstrating good accuracy

>Warning labels only exist in the US
Do you really believe this?

Show us a non-American version of Ballistol with any comparable warnings. Germans have consumed Ballistol since its invention and not a single one died from it.

>Lebensmittelecht
Oh shit, it's actually food save.
I'm going to fry up a Schnitzel in Ballistol, I'll be back with results.

Actshually - the original one makes me cough violently when inhaling its nice odor. I am probably allergic against the perfume.
Or because I also need to cough when I eat super ripe bananas or inhale paint stripper fumes it might be the butanol content. Who knows, but it's makes me avoid all of the above.

>liquid paraffin (methane, propane, butane etc.)
>potassium oleate (a salt naturally found in vegetable oil, very mild irritant but recognized as food safe)
>ammonium oleate (another emulsifier and known irritant, is used IRL for repelling deer)
>benzyl alcohol (non carcinogen and very low toxicity, fatal to infants, which cannot digest it)
>amyl alcohols (not a lot of testing apparently, it is mildly toxic but technically so is the alcohol you drink)
>isobutyl alcohol (grain fermentation alcohol, extremely low toxicity)
>benzyl acetate (no evidence of being carcinogenic, orchid bees love it as a pheromone and it smells really good)
>anethole (a flavoring 13 times stronger than sugar, is associated with a slight increase in liver cancer but not definitive and is generally recognized as safe)
>methylpentane in aerosol form (what makes the other shit actually blow out of the bottle, fucks up your nervous system which is why most aerosols these days typically have a bitterant do you don't try to get high off of it)
It's not going to do anything to you if you ingest it but I still wouldn't recommend making ballistol a part of your diet

I use it exclusively as my clp.
In fact, instead of doing a deep clean after every range session, I just spray some down the barrel and let it drain out.
For any high wear areas I use a designated lube thats also none toxic.
Idk if ballistol is the best product, as tests show some other products are superior, but it certainly does good enough and those other products are likely very hazardous in order to be so effective.
Since I like to finger my guns, it just feels good for my ocd to know that the oils are generally none toxic.

Basically just avoid the aerosol version it's about the safest gun cleaner around
